Abstract:A new construction of product measures is given for an arbitrary sequence of measure spaces via outer measure techniques giving a coherent extension of the classical theory of finite product measures to countable many. Moreover, the Lebesgue spaces of this measures are simplified in terms of finite product measures. This decomposition simplifies all the considerations regarding infinite dimensional integration and gives to it a computational framework.

Abstract:A construction of product measures is given for an arbitrary sequence of measure spaces via outer measure techniques without imposing any condition on the underlying measure spaces. This approach concludes finally the problem of the existence of product measures in an elementary manner. Moreover, the $L_{p}$ spaces of this measures are simplified in terms of finite product measures following the approach of [21]. This decomposition simplifies infinite dimensional integration and gives to this theory a computational framework.

Abstract:In this paper, we study, in a separable metric space, a class of Hausdorff measures $\mathcal{H}_\mu^{q, \xi}$ defined using a measure $\mu$ and a premeasure $\xi$. We discuss a Hausdorff structure of product sets. Weighted Hausdorff measures $\mathcal{W}_\mu^{q, \xi}$ appeared as an important tool when studying the product sets. When $\mu$ and $\xi$ are blanketed, we prove that $\mathcal{H}_\mu^{q, \xi} = \mathcal{W}_\mu^{q, \xi}$. As an application, the case when $\xi$ is defined as the Hausdorff function is considered.

Abstract:We revisit the topic of probability measures on CAT(0) cube complexes and prove that an amenable group acting on a CAT(0) cube complex, regardless of dimension, necessarily preserves an interval in the Roller compactification. In the finite dimensional case, we prove that there must be an orbit of cardinality $2^N$, where $N$ is bounded by the dimension. This is a slight extension of the author's previous Tits' Alternative.

Abstract:By introducing a novel expression for the Hausdorff and packing measures, denoted as Hφt and Pφt , respectively, in relation to the gauge function defined as φt(x)=h−1(tg(x)) for all positive values of t , we establish a connection between different approaches to defining the exact dimensions of Hausdorff and packing. Furthermore, we define both the upper and lower dimensions of Hausdorff and packing for a Borel probability measure and demonstrate that these dimensions can be represented using an entropy formula. This paper also addresses an intriguing question that has been raised multiple times regarding the structural representation of singular probability measures. We provide an affirmative response to this question by utilizing characteristic measures.

On one hand, a continuous $\times p,\times q$-invariant measure is the weak-$*$ limit of average of Dirac measures along an irrational orbit. On the Higuchi fractal dimension of invariant measures for countable idempotent iterated function systems

Abstract:We investigate the set of invariant idempotent probabilities for countable idempotent iterated function systems (IFS) defined in compact metric spaces. We demonstrate that, with constant weights, there exists a unique invariant idempotent probability. Utilizing Secelean's approach to countable IFSs, we introduce partially finite idempotent IFSs and prove that the sequence of invariant idempotent measures for these systems converges to the invariant measure of the original countable IFS. We then apply these results to approximate such measures with discrete systems, producing, in the one-dimensional case, data series whose Higuchi fractal dimension can be calculated. Finally, we provide numerical approximations for two-dimensional cases and discuss the application of generalized Higuchi dimensions in these scenarios.

Abstract:We consider positive operator valued measures whose image is the bounded operators acting on an infinite-dimensional Hilbert space, and we relax, when possible, the usual assumption of positivity of the operator valued measure seen in the quantum information theory literature. We define the Radon-Nikodym derivative of a positive operator valued measure with respect to a complex measure induced by a given quantum state; this derivative does not always exist when the Hilbert space is infinite dimensional in so much as its range may include unbounded operators. We define integrability of a positive quantum random variable with respect to a positive operator valued measure. Emphasis is put on the structure of operator valued measures, and we develop positive operator valued versions of the Lebesque decomposition theorem and Johnson's atomic and nonatomic decomposition theorem. Beyond these generalizations, we make connections between absolute continuity and the "cleanness" relation defined on positive operator valued measures as well as to the notion of atomic and nonatomic measures.

Abstract:The Levi-Civita field $\mathcal{R}$ is the smallest non-Archimidean ordered field extension of the real numbers that is real closed and Cauchy complete in the topology induced by the order. In an earlier paper [Shamseddine-Berz-2003], a measure was defined on $\mathcal{R}$ in terms of the limit of the sums of the lengths of inner and outer covers of a set by countable unions of intervals as those inner and outer sums get closer together. That definition proved useful in developing an integration theory over $\mathcal{R}$ in which the integral satisfies many of the essential properties of the Lebesgue integral of real analysis. Nevertheless, that measure theory lacks some intuitive results that one would expect in any reasonable definition for a measure; for example, the complement of a measurable set within another measurable set need not be measurable. In this paper, we will give a characterization for the measurable sets defined in [Shamseddine-Berz-2003]. Then we will introduce the notion of an outer measure on $\mathcal{R}$ and show some key properties the outer measure has. Finally, we will use the notion of outer measure to define a new measure on $\mathcal{R}$ that proves to be a better generalization of the Lebesgue measure from $\mathbb{R}$ to $\mathcal{R}$ and that leads to a family of measurable sets in $\mathcal{R}$ that strictly contains the family of measurable sets from [Shamseddine-Berz-2003], and for which most of the classic results for Lebesgue measurable sets in $\mathbb{R}$ hold.

Abstract:We give a geometric characterization of the quantitative non-integrability, introduced by Katz, of strong stable and unstable bundles of partially hyperbolic measures and sets in dimension 3. This is done via the use of higher order templates for the invariant bundles. Using the recent work of Katz, we derive some consequences, including the measure rigidity of $uu$-states and the existence of physical measures.

Abstract:We prove that the topology on the density space with respect to a unital C*-algebra and a faithful induced by the C*-norm is finer than the Bures metric topology. We also provide an example when this containment is strict. Next, we provide a metric on the density space induced by a quantum metric in the sense of Rieffel and prove that the induced topology is the same as the topology induced by the Bures metric and C*-norm when the C*-algebra is assumed to be finite dimensional. Finally, we provide an example of when the Bures metric and induced quantum metric are not metric equivalent. Thus, we provide a bridge between these aspects of quantum information theory and noncommutative metric geometry.

This analysis is applied to measures on vector spaces and in particular to Gaussian measures on nuclear topological vector spaces. Abstract:We consider Non Autonomous Conformal Iterative Function Systems (NACIFS) and their limit set. Our main concern is harmonic measure and its dimensions : Hausdorff and Packing. We prove that this two dimensions are continuous under perturbations and that they verify Bowen's and Manning's type formulas. In order to do so we prove general results about measures, and more generally about positive functionals, defined on a symbolic space, developing tools from thermodynamical formalism in a non-autonomous setting.

Abstract:This paper is partly an exposition, and partly an extension of our work [1] to the multiparameter case. We consider certain classes of parametrized dynamically defined measures. These are push-forwards, under the natural projection, of ergodic measures for parametrized families of smooth iterated function systems (IFS) on the line. Under some assumptions, most crucially, a transversality condition, we obtain formulas for the Hausdorff dimension of the measure and absolute continuity for almost every parameter in the appropriate parameter region. The main novelty of [1] and the present paper is that not only the IFS, but also the ergodic measure in the symbolic space, whose push-forward we consider, depends on the parameter. This includes many interesting families of measures, in particular, invariant measures for IFS's with place-dependent probabilities and natural (equilibrium) measures for smooth IFS's. One of the goals of this paper is to present an exposition of [1] in a more reader-friendly way, emphasizing the ideas and proof strategies, but omitting the more technical parts. This exposition/survey is based in part on the series of lectures by Károly Simon at the Summer School "Dynamics and Fractals" in 2023 at the Banach Center, Warsaw. The main new feature, compared to [1], is that we consider multi-parameter families; in other words, the set of parameters is allowed to be multi-dimensional. This broadens the scope of applications. A new application considered here is to a class of Furstenberg-like measures.

Abstract:On the symbolic space endowed with a metric given by a Gibbs measure, it is shown that, for any invariant probability measure mu other than the given Gibbs measure, the set of mu-generical points satisfies a 'zero-infinity law' (in particular, its Hausdorff and packing measure ire infinite).
