Abstract:We set a framework for the study of Hardy spaces inherited by complements of analytic hypersurfaces in domains with a prior Hardy space structure. The inherited structure is a filtration, various aspects of which are studied in specific settings. For punctured planar domains, we prove a generalization of a famous rigidity lemma of Kerzman and Stein. A stabilization phenomenon is observed for egg domains. Finally, using proper holomorphic maps, we derive a filtration of Hardy spaces for certain power-generalized Hartogs triangles, although these domains fall outside the scope of the original framework.

Abstract:Abstract Given a function $f: A \to{\mathbb{R}}^{n}$ of a certain regularity defined on some open subset $A \subseteq{\mathbb{R}}^{m}$, it is a classical problem of analysis to investigate whether the function can be extended to all of ${\mathbb{R}}^{m}$ in a certain regularity class. If an extension exists and is continuous, then certainly it is uniquely determined on the closure of $A$. A similar problem arises in general relativity for Lorentzian manifolds instead of functions on ${\mathbb{R}}^{m}$. It is well-known, however, that even if the extension of a Lorentzian manifold $(M,g)$ is analytic, various choices are in general possible at the boundary. This paper establishes a uniqueness condition for extensions of globally hyperbolic Lorentzian manifolds $(M,g)$ with a focus on low regularities: any two extensions that are anchored by an inextendible causal curve $\gamma : [-1,0) \to M$ in the sense that $\gamma $ has limit points in both extensions must agree locally around those limit points on the boundary as long as the extensions are at least locally Lipschitz continuous. We also show that this is sharp: anchored extensions that are only Hölder continuous do in general not enjoy this local uniqueness result.

Abstract:We study the problems of uniqueness for Hardy-Hénon parabolic equations, which are semilinear heat equations with the singular potential (Hardy type) or the increasing potential (Hénon type) in the nonlinear term. To deal with the Hardy-Hénon type nonlinearities, we employ weighted Lorentz spaces as solution spaces. We prove unconditional uniqueness and non-uniqueness, and we establish uniqueness criterion for Hardy-Hénon parabolic equations in the weighted Lorentz spaces. The results extend the previous works on the Fujita equation and Hardy equations in Lebesgue spaces.

Abstract:For elliptic systems with block structure in the upper half-space and t-independent coefficients, we settle the study of boundary value problems by proving compatible well-posedness of Dirichlet, regularity and Neumann problems in optimal ranges of exponents. Prior to this work, only the two-dimensional situation was fully understood. In higher dimensions, partial results for existence in smaller ranges of exponents and for a subclass of such systems had been established. The presented uniqueness results are completely new. We also elucidate optimal ranges for problems with fractional regularity data. Methods use and improve, with some new results, all the machinery developed over the last two decades to study such problems: the Kato square root estimates and Riesz transforms, Hardy spaces associated to operators, off-diagonal estimates, non-tangential estimates and square functions and abstract layer potentials to replace fundamental solutions in the absence of local regularity of solutions. This self-contained monograph provides a comprehensive overview on the field and unifies many earlier results that have been obtained by a variety of methods.

Abstract:In this article, we study the unconditional uniqueness of. (H) over dot(s), 0 < s < 1, solutions for the nonlinear Schrodinger equation i partial derivative(t)u+Delta u+c vertical bar u vertical bar(alpha)u = 0 in R-n. We give a unified proof of the previously known results in the subcritical cases and critical cases, and we also extend these results to some previously unsettled cases. Our proof uses, in particular, negative order Sobolev spaces (or Besov spaces), general nonhomogeneous Strichartz estimates, and the improved regularity property for the difference of two solutions.

Abstract:We describe a general method for constructing Heisenberg uniqueness pairs in the euclidean space based on the study of boundary value problems for partial differential equations. As a result, we show, for instance, that any pair made of the boundary of a bounded convex set and a sphere is an Heisenberg uniqueness pair if and only if the square of the radius of is not an eigenvalue of the Laplacian on . The main ingredients for the proofs are the Paley–Wiener theorem, the uniqueness of a solution to a homogeneous Dirichlet or initial boundary value problem, the continuity of single layer potentials, and some complex analysis in . Denjoy's theorem on topological conjugacy of circle diffeomorphisms with irrational rotation numbers is also useful.

Abstract:Given an extendible spacetime one may ask how much, if any, uniqueness can in general be expected of the extension. Locally, this question was considered and comprehensively answered in a recent paper of Sbierski, where he obtains local uniqueness results for anchored spacetime extensions of similar character to earlier work for conformal boundaries by Chruściel. Globally, it is known that non-uniqueness can arise from timelike geodesics behaving pathologically in the sense that there exist points along two distinct timelike geodesics which become arbitrarily close to each other interspersed with points which do not approach each other. We show that this is in some sense the only obstruction to uniqueness of maximal future boundaries: Working with extensions that are manifolds with boundary we prove that, under suitable assumptions on the regularity of the considered extensions and excluding the existence of such ''intertwined timelike geodesics'', extendible spacetimes admit a unique maximal future boundary extension. This is analogous to results of Chruściel for the conformal boundary.

Abstract:This paper consists in a first study of the Hardy space H1 in the rational Dunkl setting. Following Uchiyama's approach, we characterizee H1 atomically and by means of the heat maximal operator. We also obtain a Fourier multiplier theorem for H1. These results are proved here in the one-dimensional case and in the product case.

Abstract: Let $L= -\Delta_{\mathbb{H}^n}+V$ be a Schr\"odinger operator on the Heisenberg group $\mathbb{H}^n$, where $\Delta_{\mathbb{H}^n}$ is the sub-Laplacian and the nonnegative potential $V$ belongs to the reverse H\"older class $B_{\frac{Q}{2}}$ and $Q$ is the homogeneous dimension of $\mathbb{H}^n$. The Riesz transforms associated with the Schr\"odinger operator $L$ are bounded from $L^1(\mathbb{H}^n)$ to $L^{1,\infty}(\mathbb{H}^n)$. The $L^1$ integrability of the Riesz transforms associated with $L$ characterizes a certain Hardy type space denoted by $H^1_L(\mathbb{H}^n)$ which is larger than the usual Hardy space $H^1(\mathbb{H}^n)$. We define $H^1_L(\mathbb{H}^n)$ in terms of the maximal function with respect to the semigroup $\big \{e^{-s L}:\; s>0 \big\}$, and give the atomic decomposition of $H^1_L(\mathbb{H}^n)$. As an application of the atomic decomposition theorem, we prove that $H^1_L(\mathbb{H}^n)$ can be characterized by the Riesz transforms associated with $L$. All results hold for stratified groups as well.

Abstract:Motivated by the classical bounded Hölder domains, we introduce the notion of an unbounded simply connected Hölder domain. We prove analytic and geometric characterizations of those domains with the aid of the spherical metric and the hyperbolic metric. We also study the relation of our definition to the definition of classical bounded Hölder domains. It turns out that unbounded Hölder domains form a natural class of domains for the study of the Hardy number (which determines the Hardy spaces to which the corresponding Riemann mapping belongs to). As an application of our characterizations, we prove a sharp bound for the Hardy number of an unbounded Hölder domain.

Hardy spaces meet harmonic weights revisited

Abstract:We investigate Hardy spaces $H^1_L(X)$ corresponding to self-adjoint operators $L$. Our main aim is to obtain a description of $H^1_L(X)$ in terms of atomic decompositions similar to such characterisation of the classical Hardy spaces $H^1(\mathbb{R}^d)$. Under suitable assumptions, such a description was obtained by Yan and the authors in [Trans. Amer. Math. Soc. 375 (2022), no. 9, 6417-6451], where the atoms associated with an $L$-harmonic function are considered. Here we continue this study and modify the previous definition of atoms. The modified approach allows us to investigate settings, when the generating operator is related to a system of linearly independent harmonic functions. In this context, the cancellation condition for atoms is adjusted to fit this system. In an explicit example, we consider a symmetric manifold with ends $\mathbb{R}^d \# \mathbb{R}^d$. For this manifold the space of bounded harmonic functions is two-dimensional. Any element from the Hardy space $H^1_L(X)$ has to be orthogonal to all of the harmonic functions in the system.

Abstract:In this paper, we give a complete real-variable theory of local variable Hardy spaces. First, we present various real-variable characterizations in terms of several local maximal functions. Next, the new atomic and the finite atomic decomposition for the local variable Hardy spaces are established. As an application, we also introduce the local variable Campanato space which is showed to be the dual space of the local variable Hardy spaces. Analogous to the homogeneous case, some equivalent definitions of the dual of local variable Hardy spaces are also considered. Finally, we show that the boundedness of inhomogeneous Calderón-Zygmund singular integrals and local fractional integrals on local variable Hardy spaces and their duals.

Abstract:We show that functions in certain Hardy classes of solutions to higher-order iterated Vekua equations share properties of functions in the classical holomorphic Hardy spaces. Also, we show that a Schwarz boundary value problem for the higher-order Vekua equation is uniquely solvable when the boundary conditions are with respect to boundary values in the sense of distributions.

Abstract:We obtain Riesz transform bounds and characterise operator-adapted Hardy spaces to solve boundary value problems for singular Schrödinger equations $-\mathrm{div}(A\nabla u)+aVu=0$ in the upper half-space $\mathbb{R}^{1+n}_{+}$ with boundary dimension $n\geq 3$. The coefficients $(A,a,V)$ are assumed to be independent of the transversal direction to the boundary, and consist of a complex-elliptic pair $(A,a)$ that is bounded and measurable with a certain block structure, and a non-negative singular potential $V$ in the reverse Hölder class $\mathrm{RH}^{q}(\mathbb{R}^{n})$ for $q\geq \max\{\frac{n}{2},2\}$. We find extrapolation intervals for exponents $p$ around $2$ on which the Dirichlet problem is well-posed for boundary data in $L^{p}(\mathbb{R}^{n})$, and the associated Regularity problem is well-posed for boundary data in Sobolev spaces $\dot{\mathcal{V}}^{1,p}(\mathbb{R}^{n})$ that are adapted to the potential $V$, when $p>1$. The results permit boundary data in the Dziubanski--Zienkiewicz Hardy space $\mathrm{H}^{1}_{V}(\mathbb{R}^{n})$ and adapted Hardy--Sobolev spaces $\dot{\mathrm{H}}^{1,p}_{V}(\mathbb{R}^{n})$ when $p\leq 1$. We also obtain comparability of square functions and nontangential maximal functions for the solutions with their boundary data.
