Abstract:Almost everywhere convergence on the solution of Schrödinger equation is an important problem raised by Carleson in harmonic analysis. In recent years, this problem was essentially solved by building the sharp $L^p$-estimate of Schrödinger maximal function. Du-Guth-Li in \cite{DGL} proved the sharp $L^p$-estimates for all $p \geq 2$ in $\mathbb{R}^{2+1}$. Du-Zhang in \cite{DZ} proved the sharp $L^2$-estimate in $\mathbb{R}^{n+1}$ with $n \geq 3$, but for $p>2$ the sharp $L^p$-estimate of Schrödinger maximal function is still unknown. In this paper, we obtain partial results on this problem by using polynomial partitioning.

Abstract:It is well known that elliptic estimates fail for the -Neumann problem. Instead, the best that one can hope for is that derivatives in every direction but one can be estimated by the associated Dirichlet form, and when this happens, we say that the -Neumann problem satisfies maximal estimates. In the pseudoconvex case, a necessary and sufficient geometric condition for maximal estimates has been derived by Derridj (for (0, 1)-forms) and Ben Moussa (for (0, q )-forms when ). In this paper, we explore necessary conditions and sufficient conditions for maximal estimates in the non-pseudoconvex case. We also discuss when the necessary conditions and sufficient conditions agree and provide examples. Our results subsume the earlier known results from the pseudoconvex case.

Abstract:Lebesgue space estimates are obtained for the circular maximal function on the Heisenberg group $\mathbb{H}^1$ restricted to a class of Heisenberg radial functions. Under this assumption, the problem reduces to studying a maximal operator on the Euclidean plane. This operator has a number of interesting features: it is associated to a non-smooth curve distribution and, furthermore, fails both the usual rotational curvature and cinematic curvature conditions.

Abstract:We develop a versatile framework which allows us to rigorously estimate the Hausdorff dimension of maximal conformal graph directed Markov systems in $\mathbb{R}^n$ for $n \geq 2$. Our method is based on piecewise linear approximations of the eigenfunctions of the Perron-Frobenius operator via a finite element framework for discretization and iterative mesh schemes. One key element in our approach is obtaining bounds for the derivatives of these eigenfunctions, which, besides being essential for the implementation of our method, are of independent interest.

In this article, we obtain the complete description of the pairs $(q, \alpha) \in [1, \infty] \times [0,\infty)$ for which one has the $L^q$ boundedness estimates of $S^* f$ on geodesic balls $B_R$, with respect to the fractional Sobolev norms of $f$, \begin{equation*} {\|S^*f\|}_{L^q\left(B_R\right)} \le C\: {\|f\|}_{H^{\alpha}(S)}\:, \end{equation*} for every radial $L^2$-Schwartz class function $f$ on $S$. Our results are sharp upto the endpoints and agree with the classical Euclidean case.

Abstract:We investigate nontrigonometric forms of Riesz transforms in the context of Schur multipliers. This refines Grothendieck-Haagerup's endpoint criterion with a new condition for the Schatten p-boundedness of Schur multipliers and strengthens Potapov/Sukochev's solution of Arazy's conjecture. We recover as well dimension-free estimates for trigonometric Riesz transforms. Our discrete approach is much simpler than previous harmonic analysis and probabilistic approaches. As an application, we find a very simple proof of recent criteria for Schur multipliers of Hörmander-Mikhlin and Marcinkiewicz type.

Abstract:We obtain improved Strichartz estimates for solutions of the Schrödinger equation on compact manifolds with nonpositive sectional curvatures which are related to the classical universal results of Burq, Gérard and Tzvetkov [11]. More explicitly, we are able refine the arguments in the recent work of Blair and the authors [3] to obtain no-loss $L^p_tL^{q}_{x}$-estimates on intervals of length $\log \lambda\cdot \lambda^{-1} $ for all {\em admissible} pairs $(p,q)$ when the initial data have frequencies comparable to $\lambda$, which, given the role of the Ehrenfest time, is the natural analog in this setting of the universal results in [11]. We achieve this log-gain over the universal estimates by applying the Keel-Tao theorem along with improved global kernel estimates for microlocalized operators which exploit the geometric assumptions.

Abstract:The main result of this note is the strengthening of a quite arbitrary a priori Fourier restriction estimate to a multi-parameter maximal estimate of the same type. This allows us to discuss a certain multi-parameter Lebesgue point property of Fourier transforms, which replaces Euclidean balls by standard ellipsoids or axes-parallel rectangles. Along the lines of the same proof, we also establish a d -parameter Menshov–Paley–Zygmund-type theorem for the Fourier transform on . Such a result is interesting for because, in a sharp contrast with the one-dimensional case, the corresponding endpoint estimate (i.e., a Carleson-type theorem) is known to fail since the work of C. Fefferman in 1970. Finally, we show that a Strichartz estimate for a given homogeneous constant-coefficient linear dispersive PDE can sometimes be strengthened to a certain pseudo-differential version.

Abstract:We prove sharp weighted estimates for the non-tangential maximal function of singular integrals mapping functions from to the half-space in above . The proof is based on pointwise sparse domination of the adjoint singular integrals that map functions from the half-space back to the boundary. It is proved that these map functions in the half-space to weak functions on the boundary. From this a non-standard sparse domination of the singular integrals is established, where averages have been replaced by Carleson averages.

Abstract:We study the elliptic maximal functions defined by averages over ellipses and rotated ellipses which are multi-parametric variants of the circular maximal function. We prove that those maximal functions are bounded on $L^p$ for some $p\neq \infty$. For this purpose, we obtain some sharp multi-parameter local smoothing estimates.

Abstract:We investigate an analogue of the irreducible convex paving in the context of generalised convexity. Consider two Radon probability measures $\mu,\nu$ ordered with respect to a cone $\mathcal{F}$ of functions on $\Omega$ stable under maxima. Under the assumption that any $\mathcal{F}$-transport between $\mu$ and $\nu$ is local, we establish the existence of the finest partitioning of $\Omega$, depending only on $\mu,\nu$ and the cone $\mathcal{F}$, into $\mathcal{F}$-convex sets, called irreducible components, such that any $\mathcal{F}$-transport between $\mu$ and $\nu$ must adhere to this partitioning. Furthermore, we demonstrate that a set, whose sections are contained in the corresponding irreducible components, is a polar set with respect to all $\mathcal{F}$-transports between $\mu$ and $\nu$ if and only if it is a polar set with respect to all transports. This provides an affirmative answer to a generalisation of a conjecture proposed by Obłój and Siorpaes regarding polar sets in the martingale transport setting. Among our contributions is also a generalisation of the Strassen's theorem to the setting of generalised convexity

Abstract:We observe that classical arguments of Ricci--Stein can be used to prove $L^p$ bounds for maximal functions associated to lacunary dilates of a fixed measure in the setting of homogenous groups. This recovers some recent results on averages over Korányi spheres and horizontal spherical averages of a type introduced by Nevo--Thangavelu. Moreover, the main theorem applies much more broadly and we explore its consequences through a variety of explicit examples.

Abstract:We obtain $L^p-$estimates for the full and lacunary maximal functions associated to the twisted bilinear spherical averages given by \[\mathfrak{A}_t(f_1,f_2)(x,y)=\int_{\mathbb S^{2d-1}}f_1(x+tz_1,y)f_2(x,y+tz_2)\;d\sigma(z_1,z_2),\;t>0,\] for all dimensions $d\geq1$. We show that the estimates for such operators in dimensions $d\geq2$ essentially relies on the method of slicing. The bounds for the lacunary maximal function in dimension one is more delicate and requires a trilinear smoothing inequality which is based on an appropriate sublevel set estimate in this context.

On Higher-Spin Points and Infinite Distances in Conformal Manifolds

Abstract:Distances in the conformal manifold, the space of CFTs related by marginal deformations, can be measured in terms of the Zamolodchikov metric. Part of the CFT Distance Conjecture posits that points in this manifold where part of the spectrum becomes free, called higher-spin points, can only be at infinite distance from the interior. There, an infinite tower of operators become conserved currents, and the conformal symmetry is enhanced to a higher-spin algebra. This proposal was initially motivated by the Swampland Distance Conjecture, one of pillars of the Swampland Program. In this work, we show that the conjecture can be tackled using only methods from the conformal toolkit, and without relying on the existence of a weakly-coupled gravity dual. Via conformal perturbation theory combined with properties of correlators and of the higher-spin algebra, we establish that higher-spin points are indeed at infinite distance in the conformal manifold. We make no assumptions besides the usual properties of local CFTs, such as unitarity and the existence of an energy-momentum tensor. In particular, we do not rely on a specific dimension of spacetime (although we assume $d>2$), nor do we require the presence of supersymmetry.

Weyl Law and convergence in the classical limit for min-max nonlocal minimal surfaces

Abstract:In [CFS], the author and collaborators construct infinitely many nonlocal $s$-minimal hypersurfaces (via min-max methods) on any closed $n$-dimensional Riemannian manifold $M$, obtaining an analogue of Yau's conjecture for $s\in(0,1)$. The present article proves a Weyl Law for the fractional perimeters of these hypersurfaces, and it shows their convergence as $s\to 1$ (for $n=3$) to smooth classical minimal surfaces. Our results are used in particular to give a novel proof of the density and equidistribution of classical minimal surfaces for generic metrics in three dimensions, showcasing nonlocal minimal surfaces also as a new approximation theory for the area functional.
