Abstract:The paper deals with trace operators of Wiener amalgam spaces using frequency-uniform decomposition operators and maximal inequalities, obtaining sharp results. Additionally, we provide the embeddings between standard and anisotropic Wiener amalgam spaces.

Abstract:In this paper we introduce the concept of Wiener-Luxemburg amalgam spaces which are a modification of the more classical Wiener amalgam spaces intended to address some of the shortcomings the latter face in the context of rearrangement-invariant Banach function spaces. We introduce the Wiener-Luxemburg amalgam spaces and study their properties, including (but nor limited to) their normability, embeddings between them and their associate spaces. We also study amalgams of quasi-Banach function spaces and introduce a necessary generalisation of the concept of associate spaces. We then apply this general theory to resolve the question whether the Hardy-Littlewood-Pólya principle holds for all r.i. quasi-Banach function spaces. Finally, we illustrate the asserted shortcomings of Wiener amalgam spaces by providing counterexamples to certain properties of Banach function spaces as well as rearrangement invariance.

Abstract:In \cite{g5}, we defined and investigated the grand Wiener amalgam space $W(L^{p),\theta_1}(\Omega), L^{q),\theta_2}(\Omega))$ , where $1<p,q<\infty, \theta_1>0, \theta_2>0$, $\Omega\subset\mathbb R^{n} $ and the Lebesgue measure of $\Omega$ is finite. In the present paper we generalize this space and define the generalized grand Wiener amalgam space $W(L_{a}^{p)}(\mathbb R^{n}), L_{b}^{q)}(\mathbb R^{n})),$ where $L_{a}^{p)}(\mathbb R^{n})$ and $L_{b}^{q)}(\mathbb R^{n}),$ are the generalized grand Lebesgue spaces, (see \cite{u}, \cite{su3}). Later we investigate some basic properties. Next we study embeddings for these spaces and we discuss boundedness and unboundedness of the Hardy-Littlewood maximal operator between some generalized grand Wiener amalgam spaces.

Abstract:In the last decade it has become clear that one of the central themes within Gabor analysis (with respect to general time-frequency lattices) is a duality theory for Gabor frames, including the Wexler-Raz biorthogonality condition, the Ron-Shen's duality principle or Janssen's representation of a Gabor frame operator. All these results are closely connected with the so-called {\it Fundamental Identity of Gabor Analysis}, which we derive from an application of Poisson's summation formula for the symplectic Fourier transform. The new aspect of this presentation is the description of range of the validity of this Fundamental Identity of Gabor Analysis using Wiener amalgam spaces and Feichtinger's algebra $S_0(\R^d)$. Our approach is inspired by Rieffel's use of the Fundamental Identity of Gabor Analysis in the study of operator algebras generated by time-frequency shifts along a lattice, which was later independently rediscovered by Tolmieri/Orr, Janssen, and Daubechies et al., and Feichtinger/Kozek at various levels of generality, in the context of Gabor analysis.

Abstract:We extend dilation properties of Wiener amalgam spaces when the local and global componenets are Lebesgue spaces to a more general setting of Orlicz spaces. We recover the result of Cordero and Nicola when restricted to Lebesgue spaces. In addition, we prove continuity of the Zak transform on Wiener amalgam spaces with Orlicz spaces as their local components.

Abstract:In this paper, we prove that if a multilinear operator $\mathcal{T}$ and its multilinear commutator $\mathcal{T}_{\Sigma\vec{b}}$ and iterated commutator $\mathcal{T}_{\Pi\vec{b}}$ for $\vec{b}\in(\mathbb{R}^n)^m$ are bounded on product weighted Lebesgue space, then $\mathcal{T}$, $\mathcal{T}_{\Sigma\vec{b}}$ and $\mathcal{T}_{\Pi\vec{b}}$ are also bounded on product weighted Amalgam space. As its applications, we show that multilinear Littlewood-Paley functions and multilinear Marcinkiewicz integral functions with kernels of convolution type and non-convolution type, and their multilinear commutators and iterated commutators are bounded on product weighted Amalgam space. We also consider multilinear fractional type integral operators and their commutators' behaviors on weighted amalgam space. In order to deal with the endpoint case, we introduce the amalgam-Campanato space and show that fractional integral integral operator are bounded operators from product amalgam space to amalgam-Campanato space. What should point out is that even if in the linear case, our results for fractional integral operator are also new.

Abstract:The paper establishes the Krein and Koplienko trace formulas for multivariable operator functions on symmetrically normed ideals of bounded operators. This partially answers the question of Aleksandrov, Peller and Potapov on the existence of spectral shift measures for tuples of commuting self-adjoint operators. Results are proved for self-adjoint and maximal dissipative operators. They cover both ideals with normal and singular traces. The admissible function classes considered in the trace formulas include both analytic and non-analytic scalar functions. Results are illustrated with examples.

Abstract:In this paper, we give several characterizations for the boundedness of multilinear Rihaczek distributions acting from Wiener amalgam spaces to modulation and Fourier modulation spaces. Moreover, we establish the crucial self-improvement property which has its independent significance. As applications, sharp exponents are established for the boundedness in several typical cases. Correspondingly, the boundedness of pseudodifferential operators on Wiener amalgam spaces with symbols in modulation and Fourier modulation spaces are also established. In some typical cases, we also give the sharp exponents for the boundedness of pseudodifferential operators, including the recapture and essential extensions of the main results in \cite[IMRN, (10):1860-1893, (2010)]{CorderoNicola2010IMRNI} and \cite[JFAA, 23(4):810-816, (2017)]{Cunanan2017JoFAaA}.

Abstract:Let A be the affine group, Φ1, Φ2 be Young functions. We study the Orlicz amalgam spaces W (LΦ1 (A), LΦ2 (A)) defined on A, where the local and global component spaces are the Orlicz spaces LΦ1 (A) and LΦ2 (A), respectively. We obtain an equivalent discrete norm on the amalgam space W (LΦ1 (A), LΦ2 (A)) using the constructions related to the affine group. Using the discrete norm we compute the dual space of W (LΦ1 (A), LΦ2 (A)). We also prove that the Orlicz amalgam space is a left L1(A)-module with respect to convolution under certain conditions. Finally, we investigate some inclusion relations between the Orlicz amalgam spaces.

Trace operator on von Koch's snowflake

Abstract:We study properties of the boundary trace operator on the Sobolev space $W^1_1(\Omega)$. Using the density result by Koskela and Zhang, we define a surjective operator \mbox{$Tr: W^1_1(\Omega_K)\rightarrow X(\Omega_K)$}, where $\Omega_K$ is von Koch's snowflake and $X(\Omega_K)$ is a trace space with the quotient norm. Since $\Omega_K$ is a uniform domain whose boundary is Ahlfors-regular with an exponent strictly bigger than one, it was shown by L. Malý that there exists a right inverse to $Tr$, i.e. a linear operator $S: X(\Omega_K) \rightarrow W^1_1(\Omega_K)$ such that $Tr \circ S= Id_{X(\Omega_K)}$. In this paper we provide a different, purely combinatorial proof based on geometrical structure of von Koch's snowflake. Moreover we identify the isomorphism class of the trace space as $\ell_1$. As an additional consequence of our approach we obtain a simple proof of the Peetre's theorem about non-existence of the right inverse for domain $\Omega$ with regular boundary, which explains Banach space geometry cause for this phenomenon.

Abstract:We consider an algebra $\mathscr A$ of Fourier integral operators on $\mathbb R^n$. It consists of all operators $D: \mathscr S(\mathbb R^n)\to \mathscr S(\mathbb R^n)$ on the Schwartz space $\mathscr S(\mathbb R^n)$ that can be written as finite sums $$ D= \sum R_gT_w A, $$ with Shubin type pseudodifferential operators $A$, Heisenberg-Weyl operators $T_w$, $w\in \mathbb C^n$, and lifts $R_g$, $g\in \mathrm U(n)$, of unitary matrices $g$ on $\mathbb C^n$ to operators $R_g$ in the complex metaplectic group. For $D \in \mathscr A$ and a suitable auxiliary Shubin pseudodifferential operator $H$ we establish expansions for $\mathop{\mathrm {Tr}}(D(H-\lambda)^{-K})$ as $|\lambda| \to \infty$ in a sector of $\mathbb C$ for sufficiently large $K$ and of $\mathop{\mathrm {Tr}}(De^{-tH})$ as $t\to 0^+$. We also obtain the singularity structure of the meromorphic extension of $z\mapsto \mathop{\mathrm{Tr}}(DH^{-z})$ to $\mathbb C$. Moreover, we find a noncommutative residue as a suitable coefficient in these expansions and construct from it a family of localized equivariant traces on the algebra.

Abstract:We study the boundedness on the Wiener amalgam spaces $W^{p,q}_s$ of Fourier multipliers with symbols of the type $e^{i\mu(\xi)}$, for some real-valued functions $\mu(\xi)$ whose prototype is $|\xi|^{\beta}$ with $\beta\in (0,2]$. Under some suitable assumptions on $\mu$, we give the characterization of $W^{p,q}_s\rightarrow W^{p,q}$ boundedness of $e^{i\mu(D)}$, for arbitrary pairs of $0< p,q\leq \infty$. Our results are an essential improvement of the previous known results, for both sides of sufficiency and necessity, even for the special case $\mu(\xi)=|\xi|^{\beta}$ with $1<\beta<2$.

Abstract:We conduct a systematic study of traces on locally compact groups, in particular traces on their universal and reduced C*-algebras. We introduce the trace kernel, and examine its relation to the von Neumann kernel and to small-invariant neighbourhood (SIN) quotients. In doing so, we introduce the class of residually-$SIN$ groups, which contains both $SIN$ and maximally almost periodic groups. We examine in detail the trace kernel for connected groups. We study traces on reduced C*-algebras, giving a simple proof for compactly generated groups that existence of such a trace is equivalent to having an open normal amenable subgroup, and we display non-discrete groups admitting unique trace. We finish by examining amenable traces and the factorization property. We show for property (T) groups that amenable trace kernels coincide with von Neumann kernels. We show for totally disconnected groups that amenable trace separation implies the factorization property. We use amenable traces to give a simple proof that amenability of the group is equivalent to simultaneous nuclearity and possessing a trace of its reduced C*-algebra. As a final application of the results obtained in the paper, we address the embeddability of group C*-algebras into simple AF algebras. As a consequence, if a locally compact group is amenable and tracially separated (trace kernel is trivial), then its reduced C*-algebra is quasi-diagonal.

Abstract:We study integral operators on the space of square-integrable functions from a compact set, $X$, to a separable Hilbert space, $H$. The kernel of such an operator takes values in the ideal of Hilbert-Schmidt operators on $H$. We establish regularity conditions on the kernel under which the associated integral operator is trace class. First, we extend Mercer's theorem to operator-valued kernels by proving that a continuous, nonnegative-definite, Hermitian symmetric kernel defines a trace class integral operator on $L^2(X;H)$ under an additional assumption. Second, we show that a general operator-valued kernel that is defined on a compact set and that is Hölder continuous with Hölder exponent greater than a half is trace class provided that the operator-valued kernel is essentially bounded as a mapping into the space of trace class operators on $H$. Finally, when $\dim H < \infty$, we show that an analogous result also holds for matrix-valued kernels on the real line, provided that an additional exponential decay assumption holds.

Abstract:We establish some results in local harmonic analysis which are necessary for Arthur's invariant trace formula for coverings of connected reductive groups. More precisely, for local coverings we will study (1) the Plancherel formula and its preparations, (2) the normalization of intertwining operators subject to Arthur's conditions, (3) the local behavior of characters of admissible representations in the nonarchimedean case, and (4) the genuine part of the invariant local trace formula. As a byproduct of the invariant local trace formula, we deduce the density of tempered characters for coverings.
