On the Historical Poems of Middle-late Tang Dynasty

Abstract:The historical poems in the middle-late Tang Dynasty with profound sense of concern on the current situation and bold critical spirit presented the reality of the society.The vastly enriched subject matter grants it powerful vitality and the distinctive artistic conception and technique of expression makes it splendid composition among the huge amounts of Chinese classical poetry,thus many characteristics of the development of the literature and art was reflected through it.Changing from "history" to "poetry" ,the historical poems experienced a process starting from the historical truth to the reality of art.To the middle-late Tang period,its profound thought,strong sense of era characteristics and colorful artistry had set up a monument in the history of Chinese poetry.
