Abstract:We obtain integral representations of solutions to special cases of the Fuchsian system of differential equations and Heun's differential equation. In particular, we calculate the monodromy of solutions to the Fuchsian equation that corresponds to Picard's solution of the sixth Painlevé equation, and to Heun's equation.

Solutions to q-hypergeometric equations associated with q-middle convolution

Abstract:We investigate the integral representations of solutions to q-hypergeometric equation and its variant obtained through q-middle convolution by using transformation formulas for q-hypergeometric series. We show the correspondence between these integral solutions and solutions obtained through other methods. We also show the linear relationships among the integral solutions. Specifically, we provide an alternative proof for the connection formula for the standard form of q-hypergeometric equation.

Abstract:Solutions to the Riemann-Hilbert problems with irregular singularities naturally associated to semisimple Frobenius manifold structures on Hurwitz spaces (moduli spaces of meromorphic functions on Riemann surfaces) are constructed. The solutions are given in terms of meromorphic bidifferentials defined on the underlying Riemann surface. The relationship between different classes of Frobenius manifold structures on Hurwitz spaces (real doubles, deformations) is described on the level of the corresponding Riemann-Hilbert problems.

Abstract:We introduce a unified framework for the construction of convolutions and product formulas associated with a general class of regular and singular Sturm-Liouville boundary value problems. Our approach is based on the application of the Sturm-Liouville spectral theory to the study of the associated hyperbolic equation. As a by-product, an existence and uniqueness theorem for degenerate hyperbolic Cauchy problems with initial data at a parabolic line is established. The mapping properties of convolution operators generated by Sturm-Liouville operators are studied. Analogues of various notions and facts from probabilistic harmonic analysis are developed on the convolution measure algebra. Various examples are presented which show that many known convolution-type operators --- including those associated with the Hankel, Jacobi and index Whittaker integral transforms --- can be constructed using this general approach.

Abstract:The $q$-middle convolution was introduced by Sakai and Yamaguchi. In this paper, we reformulate $q$-integral transformations associated with the $q$-middle convolution. In particular, we discuss convergence of the $q$-integral transformations. As an application, we obtain $q$-integral representations of solutions to the variants of the $q$-hypergeometric equation by applying the $q$-middle convolution.

Abstract:We prove that the number of limit cycles generated by a small non-conservative perturbation of a Hamiltonian polynomial vector field on the plane, is bounded by a double exponential of the degree of the fields. This solves the long-standing tangential Hilbert 16th problem. The proof uses only the fact that Abelian integrals of a given degree are horizontal sections of a regular flat meromorphic connection (Gauss-Manin connection) with a quasiunipotent monodromy group.

Abstract:The original Riemann-Hilbert problem asks to find a Fuchsian ordinary differential equation with prescribed singularities and monodromy in the complex line. In the early 1980's Kashiwara solved a generalized version of the problem, valid on complex manifolds of any dimension. He presented it as a correspondence between regular holonomic D-modules and perverse sheaves. The analogous problem where one drops the regularity condition remained open for about thirty years. We solved it in the paper that received a 2024 Frontiers of Science Award. Our construction requires in particular an enhancement of the category of perverse sheaves. Here, using some examples in dimension one, we wish to convey the gist of the main ingredients used in our work. This is a written account of a talk given by the first named author at the International Congress of Basic Sciences on July 2024 in Beijing.

Abstract:In the papers [6 -8], the author has constructed the Riemann solutions to a two- dimensional hyperbolic system of nonlinear conservation laws for any piecewise constant initial data having two discontinuity rays with origin as vertex.It has been found that, for some initial data, the Riemann solutions no longer lie in L' (R' x R+), and the non-classical waves (labelled as Dirac-contact waves) have arisen.But it remains open in [6 -8] to verify that the non-classical solutions constructed satisfy the system considered.In the present paper, we borrow the new mathematical theory of generalized functions, chiefly initiated by J. F. Colombeau and Rosinger, to deal with the diffculty of the multiplication of distribution solutions.The non-classical Riemann solutions we constructed in [6 -8] satisfy the system in the sense of association.The present paper provides a good example of applications for this new mathematical theory in powerfully handling the product of generalized functions.

Abstract:In this present paper, we investigate a new class of singular double phase $p$-Laplacian equation problems with a $\psi$-Hilfer fractional operator combined from a parametric term. Motivated by the fibering method using the Nehari manifold, we discuss the existence of at least two weak solutions to such problems when the parameter is small enough. Before attacking the main contribution, we discuss some results involving the energy functional and the Nehari manifold.

Abstract:In this work, the Riemann–Hilbert (RH) problem is employed to study the multiple high-order pole solutions of the cubic Camassa–Holm (cCH) equation with the term characterizing the effect of linear dispersion under zero boundary conditions and nonzero boundary conditions. Under the reflectionless situation, we generalize the residue theorem and obtain the multiple high-order pole solutions of cCH equation by solving an algebraic system. During the process of establishing the solution of RH problem, to simplify the calculations involving the implicitly expressed of variables (x, t) in the solution, we introduce a new scale (y, t) to ensure the solution of RH problem is explicitly expressed with respect to it. Finally, the exact solutions are obtained for cases involving one high-order pole and N high-order poles.

Abstract:We detail a numerical algorithm and related code to construct rational quadratic differentials on the Riemann sphere that satisfy the Boutroux condition. These differentials, in special cases, provide solutions of (generalized) Chebotarov problem as well as being instances of Jenkins--Strebel differentials. The algorithm allows to construct Boutroux differentials with prescribed polar part, thus being useful in the theory of weighted capacity and Random Matrices.

Abstract:We explore the existence, uniqueness, and multiplicity of positive solutions to a system of Hadamard fractional differential equations that contain fractional integral terms. Defined on a finite interval, this system is subject to general coupled nonlocal boundary conditions encompassing Riemann–Stieltjes integrals and Hadamard fractional derivatives. To establish the main results, we employ several fixed-point theorems, namely the Banach contraction mapping principle, the Schauder fixed-point theorem, the Leggett–Williams fixed-point theorem, and the Guo–Krasnosel'skii fixed-point theorem.

By using a finite reduction argument and local Pohozaev type identities, we will show that if N ≥ 4m+1 and r^2mV(r,y”) has a stable critical point (r_0,y_0”) , then the above problem has infinitely many solutions, whose energy can be arbitrarily large.
A rigorous integrator and global existence for higher-dimensional semilinear parabolic PDEs via semigroup theory

Abstract:In this paper, we introduce a general constructive method to compute solutions of initial value problems of semilinear parabolic partial differential equations via semigroup theory and computer-assisted proofs. Once a numerical candidate for the solution is obtained via a finite dimensional projection, Chebyshev series expansions are used to solve the linearized equations about the approximation from which a solution map operator is constructed. Using the solution operator (which exists from semigroup theory), we define an infinite dimensional contraction operator whose unique fixed point together with its rigorous bounds provide the local inclusion of the solution. Applying this technique for multiple time steps leads to constructive proofs of existence of solutions over long time intervals. As applications, we study the 3D/2D Swift-Hohenberg, where we combine our method with explicit constructions of trapping regions to prove global existence of solutions of initial value problems converging asymptotically to nontrivial equilibria. A second application consists of the 2D Ohta-Kawasaki equation, providing a framework for handling derivatives in nonlinear terms.

Abstract:Systems of fractional order differential and pseudo-differential equations are used in modeling of various dynamical processes. In the analysis of such models, including stability analysis, asymptotic behaviors, etc., it is useful to have a representation formulas for the solution. In this paper we prove the existence and uniqueness theorems and derive representation formulas for the solution of general systems of fractional multi-order linear pseudo-differential equations through the matrix-valued Mittag-Leffler function.
