### Problems the Paper Aims to Address This paper aims to explore the current status of osteoporosis medication use in Australian aged care facilities and analyze drug-related problems (DRPs) associated with osteoporosis through pharmacists' medication review reports, thereby proposing improvement measures. #### Specific Objectives Include: 1. **Investigate the use of osteoporosis medications in aged care facilities**: The study examined the usage rate of osteoporosis medications among residents in Australian aged care facilities. 2. **Identify drug-related problems**: Through pharmacists' medication review reports, identify drug-related problems associated with osteoporosis. 3. **Propose improvement suggestions**: Based on pharmacists' recommendations, propose specific measures to improve the management of osteoporosis. #### Main Findings: - Osteoporosis is prevalent in aged care facilities but is underdiagnosed. - Drug-related problems mainly focus on vitamin D, anti-resorptive drugs, and other medications that may cause osteoporosis. - There is a need to enhance the monitoring and supplementation of vitamin D and calcium, especially when using anti-resorptive drugs. - There is a need to raise awareness of osteoporosis management guidelines, particularly regarding the use of vitamin D and calcium. Through these studies, the paper reveals the issues present in current clinical practice and proposes specific improvement suggestions to optimize the management of osteoporosis in aged care facilities.
