Abstract:Objectives: To analyze the clinical and molecular genetic characteristics of 1 patients and his pedigree with congenital adrenal hyperplasia (17a-hydroxylase /17, 20-lyase deficiency, 17OHD) Methods: Clinical data and data of basal hormone determinations and imaging examinations of 1 patient who was treated at the Department of Hypertention, Henan Provincial People's Hospital in September 2016 were collected and CYP17A1 gene of this patient and his relatives were detected. Results: The patient had typical clinical presentations of hypertension, hypokalemia, and sexual infantilism. Hormone determination revealed that the blood cortisol level was below the normal, the feedback effect of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) increased, the activity of renin was inhibited, testosterone was lower than the normal, and the gonadotropin level increased. CT scan showed bilateral adrenal hyperplasia. Detection of CYP17A1 gene revealed that there was a mutation: p.Y329X Hom in the exon 6.The other relatives were heterozygous mutation carriers. Conclusion: We must consider the possibility of 17OHD when hypertensive with hypokalemia and genitals dysplasia

Abstract:Background: Congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH) encompasses a group of autosomal recessive diseases characterized by enzyme deficiencies, within steroid hormone anabolism, which lead to disorders in cortisol synthesis. The 17 alpha-hydroxylase/17,20-lyase deficiency (17-OHD) is an uncommon form of CAH caused by variants in the CYP17A1 gene. Aims: We report a novel compound heterozygous CYP17A1 variant and its association with the pathogenesis of 17-OHD. Methods: The patient was assessed for medical history, clinical manifestations, physical examination, laboratory examination, karyotype analysis, and adrenal computed tomography. Mutation screening was conducted using whole-exome sequencing (WES) and Sanger sequencing. The wild-type and mutant CYP17A1 complementary DNAs (cDNAs) were amplified and cloned into a pcDNA3.1(+) vector. These plasmids were transfected transiently into HEK-293T cells. Quantitative PCR and Western blotting analysis were performed to measure the expression level of P450c17. An enzymatic activity assay was conducted to measure the content of 17-hydroxyprogesterone (17-OHP) and dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) in medium using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). Results: The proband was characterized by 17-OHD with rhabdomyolysis, hypokalemia, and adrenal insufficiency. Novel compound heterozygous variants of the CYP17A1 gene (c.1304T > C/p.Phe435Ser and c.1228delG/p.Asp410Ilefs*9) were identified. The enzymatic activity assay revealed that this variant resulted in a complete deficiency of 17 alpha-hydroxylase and 17,20-lyase activity. This was consistent with the hormonal characteristics of the proband's blood. Conclusions: These results suggest that the compound heterozygous variant of c.1304T > C and c.1228delG of the CYP17A1 gene can lead to 17-OHD. Our findings thus provide a novel insight into the clinical evaluations and molecular basis of 17-OHD.
Clinical features of 9 patients with X-linked adrenal hypoplasia congenita caused by DAX1/NR0B1 gene mutations

Abstract:Objective To study the clinical features of 9 patients with X-linked adrenal hypoplasia congenita (AHC) by gene sequencing so as to provide diagnostic rationales. Methods The patients were 9 cases of X-linked AHC treated at our hospital from July 2007 to June 2009. The clinical manifestations were analyzed. The blood biochemistry tests and the hormone examinations including luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone ( LHRH) stimulation tests and human chorionic gonadotropin ( HCG) stimulation tests were conducted to evaluate the functions of gonads. And CT scans of adrenal glands and gene tests of DAX1/ NR0B1 were performed. Results Nine AHC patients from 8 families were studied. All patients had DAX1/ NR0B1 gene mutations. The main clinical features were; (1) some patients (3 families) had a family history of X-linked recessive inheritance; (2) the ages of onset were all below 10 years old (from 2 month after birth to 9 years old) and ages of being treated at our hospital were from 15 to 34 years old; (3) all patients had adrenocortical hypofunctions, but clinical situations were different, most of them had pigmentation (n = 9) , nausea and vomiting (n = 8) , hypotension (n = 6) , Addisonian crisis (n =4). Others were debility, hypoglycemia and cold susceptibility. laboratory tests indicated that all patients had hyponatremia at the onset and higher blood adrenocorticotropic hormone level, lower blood 17hydroxyprogesterone level compared to normal controls; (4) none of the patients had puberty and there was no responses to LHRH stimulation tests, 3 of them had normal responses to HCG stimulation tests; (5) small bilateral adrenal glands were displayed on CT scans. Conclusions The main clinical features of Xlinked AHC are adrenocortical hypofunetion and hypogonadotropic hypogonadism. But the phenotypes vary greatly in different patients. So male children with adrenal cortical hypofunetion should be suspected of Xlinked AHC and DAX1/NR0B1 gene tests should be performed. The sexual development of the patients also should be followed up.
Near-Final Height in 82 Chinese Patients with Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia Due to Classic 21-Hydroxylase Deficiency: A Single-Center Study from China

Abstract:Abstract Background: The objective of this study was to identify variables that might interfere with reaching the near final height (NFH) in Congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH) due to classic 21-hydroxylase deficiency (21-OHD). Methods: A cross-sectional study of 82 (24 males and 58 females) classic (23 salt-wasting form [SW] and 59 simple-virilizing form [SV]) CAH 21-OHD patients seen in our institution between 1989 and 2015 with 10.6 (0.5~25.5) years of follow-up who reached their NFH was conducted. The variables related to NFH were explored. Results: NFH (153.35±8.31) cm, (–1.9±1.1) SD was significantly lower than the normal population (p<0.001). The treated patients reached a significantly higher NFH (–1.7±1.1) SD than those untreated (–2.6±1.0) SD (p<0.05). Both of early treatment and late treatment group were taller than untreated group (p<0.001, p=0.013, respectively), and early treatment group had a taller height trend than late treatment group (p=0.089). A better height outcome was observed in patients with advantage in target height, good compliance, and low hydrocortisone dose by multivariate Cox regression analysis in 62 treatment patients. NFH and hydrocortisone dose was negatively correlated (r=–0.23, p=0.078) in treated group. Patients complicated by central precocious puberty (CPP) received gonadotropin-releasing hormone analogue (GnRHa) plus letrozole had increased NFH with height SD for bone age and Ht SD improved after treatment compare to no intervention group (p=0.001, p=0.035). Conclusions: Patients with classic 21-OHD have blunted final height, as compared with their target height and the population norm, not-treated even worse. Careful treatment adjustments have a favorable influence on growth. Alternative treatments, such as the use of puberty inhibitors GnRHa in addition to anti-estrogen therapy letrozole can somewhat improve NFH in children with 21-OHD complicated by CPP.

Abstract:Objective: To explore the correlation between different CYP21A2 pathogenic gene mutations and clinical phenotypes in Congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH) patients. Moreover, combined with the specific phenotypes of patients in the clinic, diagnosis and treatment suggestions should be made for CAH patients. Methods: In this study, a genetic status of a Chinese family in three generations of 21-hydroxylase deficiency was comprehensively presented, and the pathogenic genes in the family were found and traced in detail. We measured CYP21A2 gene in this family by Sanger sequencing and MLPA. The trophoblast cells of female proband's embryos were detected by PGT-M which used Copy-Number Variations of a Single Human Cell and high throughput sequencing. The CYP21A2 gene mutation site in each embryo were detected by Sanger sequencing, whole genome sequencing and single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP). Results: There are many related pathogenic genes of CAH in this family. The female proband showed a compound heterozygous mutation in the CYP21A2 gene, including a CYP21A1P/A2 fusion gene (CH-8) (classical phenotype) and a new mutation c.1034T > C (p. L354S) (unknown clinical significance). In the proband's family, a heterozygous gene mutation of c.1034T > C and a CYP21A1P/A2 fusion gene (CH-8) was carried by her father and mother, respectively. Meanwhile, the husband of the proband also has a genetic family with related disease. Both the husband and his father carried the CYP21A2 gene c.844G > T heterozygous mutation, while his mother had no related mutation in the CYP21A2 gene. Furthermore, PGTM gene detection was carried out on the four blastocysts of the proband's offspring through IVF. The results showed that embryos T1, T2 and T4 all carried CYP21A1P/A2 fusion gene (CH-8), as well as embryo T3 carried c.1034T > C heterozygous mutation of maternal origin. Conclusion: This case is a family report showing a complete genetic map of the proband and her family, describing the genetic process of different pathogenic genes in detail and clearly corresponding to the patient's different phenotypes. It is speculated that the pathogenesis of CAH is caused by different mutations in the CYP21A2 gene and their interactions, which may affect the different phenotypes of CAH patients.
Congenital adrenal hyperplasia due to 21-hydroxylase deficiency - management in adults

Abstract:Congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH) due to 21-hydroxylase deficiency is one of the most common autosomal recessive hereditary diseases. The impairment of cortisol synthesis leads to excessive stimulation of the adrenal glands by adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH), adrenal hyperplasia, and excessive androgen synthesis. The syndrome is characterised by a considerable correlation between the genotype and the phenotype with the type of CYP21A2 gene mutation affecting the severity of 21-hydroxylase deficiency. The clinical manifestations of CAH in adults result from adrenocortical and adrenomedullary insufficiency, hyperandrogenism, and the adverse effects of glucocorticosteroids used for the treatment of the condition. Non-classic CAH may sometimes be asymptomatic. In patients with classic CAH obesity, hyperinsulinaemia, insulin resistance, and hyperleptinaemia are more often seen than in the general population. These abnormalities promote the development of metabolic syndrome and its sequelae, including endothelial dysfunction, and cardiovascular disease. Long-term glucocorticosteroid treatment is also a known risk factor for osteoporosis. Patients with CAH require constant monitoring of biochemical parameters (17a-hydroxyprogesterone [17-OHP] and androstenedione), clinical parameters (body mass, waist circumference, blood pressure, glucose, and lipids), and bone mineral density by densitometry. The principal goal of treatment in adults with CAH is to improve quality of life, ensure that they remain fertile, reduce the manifestations of hyperandrogenisation in females, and minimise the adverse effects of glucocorticosteroid treatment. Patients with classic CAH require treatment with glucocorticosteroids and, in cases of salt wasting, also with a mineralocorticosteroid. Radical measures, such as bilateral adrenalectomy, are very rarely needed. Asymptomatic patients with non-classic CAH require monitoring: treatment is not always necessary. Medical care for patients with CAH should be provided by reference centres, as the management of such patients requires collaboration between an endocrinologist, diabetologist, gynaecologist, andrologist, urologist, and psychologist.

Abstract:Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia (CAH) is a group of autosomal recessive endocrine disorders characterized by alteration in adrenal hormonal secretions. The most common form is caused by CYP21A2 mutations that result in 21-hydroxylase deficiency. Clinical features can vary, from salt-wasting forms, characterized by a lack of mineralocorticoid activity with a risk of perinatal-onset adrenal crises, to "simple-virilizing" forms with sufficient aldosterone secretion, up to milder "non-classical" forms, with a variable grade of hyperandrogenism but no severe hormonal deficiencies. During pregnancy, CAH 46,XX fetuses are exposed to elevated androgen levels, leading to a variable grade of virilization and potential central nervous system effects if untreated. These patients are usually (but not always) assigned female at birth, but some cases may be misdiagnosed and assigned male, potentially inducing fertility, gender identity, and sexual behavior issues in adulthood. In these patients, the benefits and risks of a late gender transition should be carefully evaluated. In this paper, we reviewed the literature concerning the most interesting peculiarities of these conditions.

Abstract:Objectives To examine anthropometric changes of patients with classic 46,XX congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH) and matched referents; and 2) To investigate the impact of improvements in diagnosis and care on growth patterns in these patients by comparing changes in anthropometric parameters before and after CAH consensus guidelines. Methods This was a retrospective cohort study nested within 3 large integrated health-systems. Seventy-six patients with classic 46XX CAH and 1102 matched referents <21 years of age were identified. Anthropometric measurements including age-specific percentiles for height, weight, and body mass index were examined and compared between groups using linear mixed-effect models. Anthropometric trajectories were explored using latent class analyses. Results CAH patients had lower height percentiles than referents at all time points. Differences ranged from 10.7% to 28.4%. After age 5, differences in height were only significant among study participants born before the publication of CAH consensus guidelines. Latent class analyses of height detected a "gradual growth increase" pattern in 28% of CAH cases and only 4% of referents, and a "growth stunting" pattern was observed in 13% of CAH cases and 6% of referents. Height percentile measures did not differ in CAH patients with or without evidence of hormonal interventions (growth hormone and/or puberty blockers) used to increase adult height. Conclusions There is substantial heterogeneity in growth trajectories of CAH patients. Although stunting may affect CAH patients, advances in diagnosis and care improved anthropometric outcomes in this population. Understanding the disease- and therapy-related mechanisms that explain the different growth patterns requires additional research.

Abstract:Objective To investigate the metabolic, cardiovascular, and neuropsychological phenotype, quality of life (QoL), and hormonal regulation in individuals with congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH), a group of autosomal recessive disorders characterized by impaired synthesis of cortisol in the adrenal cortex and, if untreated compensatory hyperandrogenism. CAH is associated with an increased cardiovascular and metabolic morbidity, possibly due to overtreatment with glucocorticoids, leading to weight gain, insulin resistance, and metabolic syndrome. Abstract:ABSTRACT The clinical significance of human coronaviruses in more severe respiratory illnesses has recently been shown to be higher than was previously assumed. Rapid and reliable diagnosis of human coronavirus infections therefore becomes indispensable in a routine clinical setting. In this study, we present a very sensitive and specific TaqMan-based, real-time quantitative reverse transcriptase PCR (qRT-PCR) for the rapid detection and quantitation of human coronaviruses (HCoVs) OC43 and 229E. Absolute viral load measurement in clinical samples was achieved through the construction of in-house HCoV OC43 and 229E cRNA standards for the generation of a standard curve. The HCoV OC43 assay allows quantitation over a range from 20 to 2 × 108 RNA copies per reaction mixture (5 μl RNA extract). When this is extrapolated to clinical samples, this corresponds to a detection range of 103 to 1010 viral genome equivalents per ml. By using the HCoV 229E qRT-PCR assay, viral RNA copies ranging from 200 to 2 × 109 per reaction mixture can be detected, which corresponds to 104 to 1011 viral genome equivalents per ml sample. A total of 100 respiratory samples screened for the presence of HCoVs OC43 and 229E by using conventional RT-PCR were assessed in parallel by the qRT-PCR assays. By use of the real-time qRT-PCR techniques, the detection rate of HCoVs OC43 and 229E increased from 2.0% to 3.1% and from 0.3% to 2.5%, respectively. The real-time qRT-PCR assays described here allow the rapid, specific, and sensitive laboratory detection and quantitation of human coronaviruses OC43 and 229E.

Abstract:Congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH) is an autosomal recessive disorder with a related enzyme deficiency involved in the adrenal corticosteroid synthesis pathway due to genetic mutations. 17α-hydroxylase deficiency(17α-OHD) is a rare form of CAH. Herein, we reported clinical data on diagnosis and treatment regimens for a 17α-hydroxylase-deficient patient. A 24-year-old female patient was admitted to the hospital with limb numbness for 7 days and sudden limb weakness. Full laboratory and radio-imaging investigations showed hypokalemia and abdominal occupation. Abnormal rhythm of cortisol(Cor) and adrenocorticotrophic hormone (ACTH)was observed. The diagnosis was confirmed by molecular mutation detection, which showed a homozygous mutation of c.987del in the 17-hydroxylase/17,20-lyase deficiency (17OHD) lease-related CYP17A1 from both biological parents. The patient was treated with prednisone acetate and estradiol valerate. After one year of treatment with predisoone acetate and estradiol valerate, the patient had normal menstruation, increased blood potassium, estradiol and 24h-UFC, and decreased ACTH level. There is no significant change in large adrenal hyperplasia lesions although sexual characteristics and menstrual cycles have recovered. Through this case and literature review, it can be concluded that CAH with 17α-OHD can be diagnosed according to the genetic detection.

Abstract:Congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH) comprises a heterogeneous group of autosomal recessive disorders impairing adrenal steroidogenesis. Most cases are caused by mutations in the CYP21A2 gene resulting in 21-hydroxylase (21-OH) deficiency (21-OHD). The genetics of 21-OH CAH is complexed by a highly homologous pseudogene CYP21A1P imposing several limitations in the molecular analysis. Therefore, genetic testing is still not a part of routine CAH diagnosis and is mainly dependent on 17-hydroxy progesterone (OHP) measurements. There are very few reports of CYP21A2 gene analysis from India and there is no comprehensive review available on genetic testing and the spectrum of CYP21A2 mutations from the country. This review focuses on the molecular aspects of 21-OHD and the genetic studies on CYP21A2 gene reported from India. The results of these studies insist the compelling need for large-scale CYP21A2 genetic testing and newborn screening (NBS) in India. With a high disease prevalence and consanguinity rates, robust and cost-effective genetic testing for 21-OH CAH would enable an accurate diagnosis in routine clinical practice. Whereas establishing affordable genotyping assays even in secondary care or resource-poor settings of the country can identify 90% of the mutations that are pseudogene derived, initiatives on reference laboratories for CAH across the nation with comprehensive genetic testing facilities will be beneficial in those requiring extended analysis of CYP21A2 gene. Further to this, incorporating genetic testing in NBS and carrier screening programmes will enable early diagnosis, better risk assessment and community-based management.
Long-term cardio-metabolic outcomes in patients with classical congenital adrenal hyperplasia: is the risk real?

Abstract:Purpose of review: Data on the long-term cardio-metabolic outcomes classical congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH) patients have been published with controversial results. Conventional treatment recommends hydrocortisone during childhood; and short and/or long-acting glucocorticoid during adulthood, associated or not with mineralocorticoid, in an attempt to simulate normal cortisol secretion and to normalize androgen excess. However, the balance between glucocorticoid over or undertreatment is very challenging, and patients frequently oscillate between hypercortisolism or hyperandrogenism. Considering these data, we reviewed the frequency of metabolic syndrome components and other cardiovascular risk factors in CAH. Recent findings: Several studies reported increased prevalence obesity, abnormal body composition, increased homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance and blood pressure levels in CAH patients. However, the evidence quality is still low, because most studies used different glucocorticoid regimes and had heterogeneous goals for hormonal control. Summary: Despite the above-mentioned scenario of increased frequency of some cardiovascular surrogate markers in patients, most cohorts comprised young adults, and it is not known if patients will present high frequency of cardiovascular disease in the future. Prospective randomized studies comparing different glucocorticoid regimens should establish the real role of glucocorticoid and androgens on metabolic/cardiovascular profile.
Optimal use of prognostic factors in non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

Abstract:The management of non-Hodgkin lymphoma is complicated by wide heterogeneity within recognized subtypes. Patients with supposedly similar diagnoses can have remarkably varied clinical presentations, molecular profiles and clinical outcomes. Reliable prognostic markers could allow the identification of patient subsets that may benefit from alternate approaches. Historically, a large number of clinical and molecular prognostic factors have been elucidated. However, the recent introduction of new therapies such as monoclonal antibodies has revolutionized treatment practices and greatly improved outcomes. This has called into question the value of previously recognized prognostic factors that need to be revalidated in the era of immunochemotherapy. It would appear that the commonly used clinical indices (IPI and FLIPI) retain predictive capacity, although they may have limited ability to identify a very poor outcome group. Currently there are no molecular markers that have been revalidated and shown to retain significance in the setting of current treatment practices for diffuse large B-cell lymphoma or follicular lymphoma. The biologic insights provided by molecular studies should allow for more targeted therapies to be developed, which will increase treatment choice and the possibility of tailored therapy in the future. It is imperative that future steps forward be made in the context of well-designed clinical trials with prospective correlative studies of clinical and biologic markers. This will allow us to continuously assess outcome predictors in the context of treatment change and to rationally design tailored treatment algorithms.
Evaluating the efficacy of a long-read sequencing-based approach in the clinical diagnosis of neonatal congenital adrenocortical hyperplasia

Abstract:Congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH) is a group of autosomal recessive disorders predominantly characterized by impaired corticosteroid synthesis. Clinical phenotypes include hypoadrenocorticism, electrolyte disturbances, abnormal gonadal development, and short stature, of which severe hyponadrenocorticism and salt wasting can be life-threatening. Genetic analysis can help in the clinical diagnosis of CAH. However, the 21-OHD-causing gene CYP21A2 is arranged in tandem with the highly homologous CYP21A1P pseudogene, making it difficult to determine the exact genotypes using the traditional method of multiplex ligation-dependent probe amplification (MLPA) plus Sanger sequencing or next-generation sequencing (NGS). We applied a long-read sequencing-based approach termed comprehensive analysis of CAH (CACAH) to 48 newborns with CAH that were diagnosed by clinical features and the traditional MLPA plus Sanger sequencing method for retrospective analysis, to evaluate its efficacy in the clinical diagnosis of neonatal CAH. Compared with the MLPA plus Sanger sequencing method, CACAH showed 100 % consistency in detecting SNV/indel variants located in exons and exon–intron boundary regions of CAH-related genes. It can directly determine the cis – trans relationship without the need to analyze parental genotypes, which reduces the time to diagnosis. Moreover, CACAH was able to distinguish different CYP21A1P / CYP21A2 and TNXA / TNXB chimeras, and detect additional variants ( CYP21A2 variants c.-121C > T, c.*13G > A, c.*52C > T, c.*440C > T, c.*443 T > C, and TNXB variants c.12463 + 2 T > C, c.12204 + 5G > A). We also identified the TNXB variant c.11435_11524 + 30del alone instead of as a part of the TNXA / TNXB -CH-1 chimera in two newborns, which might be introduced by gene conversion. All of these characteristics enabled clinicians to better explain the phenotype of subjects and manage them more effectively. CACAH has a great advantage over the traditional MLPA and Sanger sequencing methods, showing substantial potential in the genetic diagnosis and screening of neonatal CAH.

Abstract:Management of patients with congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH) poses challenges during pregnancy and prenatal stages, impacting fertility differently in men and women. Women with CAH experience menstrual irregularities due to androgen and glucocorticoid precursor interference with endometrial development and ovulation. Genital surgeries for virilization and urogenital anomalies further impact fertility and sexual function, leading to reduced heterosexual relationships among affected women. Fertility rates vary, with a lower prevalence of motherhood, primarily among those with classic CAH, necessitating optimized hormonal therapy for conception. Monitoring optimal disease control during pregnancy poses challenges due to hormonal fluctuations. Men with CAH often experience hypogonadotrophic hypogonadism and complications like testicular adrenal rest tissue, impacting fertility. Regular monitoring and intensified glucocorticoid therapy may restore spermatogenesis. Genetic counselling is vital to comprehend transmission risks and prenatal implications. Prenatal dexamethasone treatment in affected female fetuses prevents virilization but raises ethical and safety concerns, necessitating careful consideration and further research. The international "PREDICT" study aims to establish safer and more effective prenatal therapy in CAH, evaluating dosage, safety, and long‐term effects.

Abstract:Congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH) with 21-hydroxylase deficiency is one of autosomal reoessively inherited diseases.The clinical manifestations are as follows:salt waste,dehydration,androgyneity,pseudo precocious puberty or baby adrenal crisis.Treatment of CAH with 21-hydroxylase deficiency attaches great attention by scholars.Recently,numerous new drugs and therapeutic schemes for perinatal and postnatal therapy are effective in improvement of metabolism and height of child patients.Besides,the development of surgical operation and gene therapy which refer to treatment of hereditary diseases have realized well.So increase of life span and improvement of life quality in CAH patients will be easier to implement.

Abstract:Congenital adrenocortical hyperplasia(CAH) is a group of monogenic autosomal recessive hereditary diseases due to congenital deficiency of certain enzyme in steroidal hormonal biosynthesis.Typical clinical features of CAH are salt loss,dehydration,ambiguous external genitalia,accelerated growth and typical hormonal abnormalities.The disease is prone to be missed diagnosis or be misdiagnosed.Commonly,there are many kinds of deficient enzymes in CAH,of which,CYP21(21-hydroxylase) deficiency is the most common,accounting for 90%~95% of the total of the disease.The differentiation of different phenotypes depends on detection of hormonal levels and genotype analysis.At present,the diagnosis of the disease is at molecular level,and deficient genes' diagnosis can be made directly.Prenatal diagnosis and neonatal screening become possible and feasible through molecular genetic analysis of DNA.In addition to surgical treatment,oral glucocorticoid therapy is a classic treatment of the disease,however,appropriate dose is most important.
