Abstract:In the present work, as-cold rolled Ti-Nb-Ni sheet with thickness of 0.7 mm was annealed at 650 °C for various time. As-cold rolled sheet is composed of dispersive Ti2Ni precipitations resulting from previous deformation process. Average grain size of the sheet increases with annealing time and grain growth exponent of the sheet is calculated to be 0.182. UTS of as-cold rolled sheet along both RD and TD exceed 700 MPa, while YS decrease by around 50 % after annealing. Besides, elongations for annealed specimens increase to more than 35 %. Corrosion current densities decline gradually with annealing time increasing and are lower than 1 μA cm−2 in simulating PEMFC solution. The 60 min annealed sheet is the most corrosion resistant in comparison with other counterparts based on open circuit potential, potentiodynamic polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. As for durability, 60 min annealed specimen possesses the lowest steady-state current density (0.013 μA cm−2). On the whole, optimal time for Ti-Nb-Ni sheet annealing is 60 min.
