Abstract:A strong inspiration for studying perturbation theory for fractional evolution equations comes from the fact that they have proven to be useful tools in modeling many physical processes. In this paper, we study fractional evolution equations of order $\alpha\in (1,2]$ associated with the infinitesimal generator of an operator fractional cosine function generated by bounded time-dependent perturbations in a Banach space. We show that the abstract fractional Cauchy problem associated with the infinitesimal generator $A$ of a strongly continuous fractional cosine function remains uniformly well-posed under bounded time-dependent perturbation of $A$. We also provide some necessary special cases.

Abstract:In this paper we consider the nonlinear fractional Schrödinger equations in presence of a critical power nonlinearity and a subcritical term ε ^2s(-Δ )^s u+V(x)u=f(u)+u^2^*_s-1 x∈ℝ^N, where s∈ (0,1), 2^*_s=2N/(N-2s), N>2s, (-Δ )^s is the fractional laplacian and f ( u ) is of subcritical nonlinearity, and ε is a positive parameter. Under a local condition imposed on the potential V , we relate the number of positive solutions with the topology of the set where the potential attains its minimum. In the proofs we apply variational methods, penalization techniques and Ljusternik–Schnirelmann theory.

Abstract:The purpose of this study is to discuss the existence of solutions for resonant functional problems involving both left Riemann–Liouville and right Caputo‐type fractional derivatives. Our results rely on the coincidence degree theory due to Mawhin and constructing suitable Banach spaces and operators. An example is constructed to demonstrate the application of the derived results.

Abstract:Nonlinear fractional difference equations are studied deeply and extensively by many scientists by using fixed-point theorems on different types of function spaces. In this study, we combine fixed-point theory with a set of falling fractional functions in a Banach space to prove the existence and uniqueness of solutions of a class of fractional difference equations. The most important part of this article is devoted to correcting a significant mistake made in the literature in using the power rule by providing further conditions for its validity. Also, we provide specific conditions under which difference equations have attractive solutions and the solutions are also asymptotically stable. Furthermore, we construct some fractional difference examples in order to illustrate the validity of the observed results.

Abstract:We study the existence of nontrivial solutions for a nonlinear fractional elliptic equation in presence of logarithmic and critical exponential nonlinearities. This problem extends [5] to fractional $N/s$-Laplacian equations with logarithmic nonlinearity. We overcome the lack of compactness due to the critical exponential nonlinearity by using the fractional Trudinger-Moser inequality. The existence result is established via critical point theory.

Abstract:We study the existence of positive solutions for a fractional differential equation with integral boundary conditions. Our solutions are placed in the space of Hölder functions and the main tools used in the proof of the results are the classical Schauder fixed point theorem and a sufficient condition about the relative compactness in Hölder spaces. Moreover, some examples are shown illustrating the results.

Finally, an applied numerical example is presented to illustrate the theoretical results obtained.

Abstract:A new version of perturbation theory is developed which produces infinitely many sign-changing critical points for uneven functionals. The abstract result is applied to the following elliptic equations with a Hardy potential and a perturbation from symmetry:-Δu-μu|x|2=f(x,u)+p(x,u) in Ω,u=0 on ∂Ωand-Δu=|u|q-2|x|su+p(x,u) in Ω,u=0 on ∂Ω,where 0<s<2,Ω is a smooth bounded domain of Rn, and p(x,u) is not odd in u. Infinitely many sign-changing solutions are obtained.
Global perturbative elliptic problems with critical growth in the fractional setting

Abstract:Given $s$, $q\in(0,1)$, and a bounded and integrable function $h$ which is strictly positive in an open set, we show that there exist at least two nonnegative solutions $u$ of the critical problem $$(-\Delta)^s u=\varepsilon h(x)u^q+u^{2^*_s-1},$$ as long as $\varepsilon>0$ is sufficiently small. Also, if $h$ is nonnegative, these solutions are strictly positive. The case $s=1$ was established in [APP00], which highlighted, in the classical case, the importance of combining perturbative techniques with variational methods: indeed, one of the two solutions branches off perturbatively in $\varepsilon$ from $u=0$, while the second solution is found by means of the Mountain Pass Theorem. The case $s\in\left(0,\frac12\right]$ was already established, with different methods, in [DMV17] (actually, in [DMV17] it was erroneously believed that the method would have carried through all the fractional cases $s\in(0,1)$, so, in a sense, the results presented here correct and complete the ones in [DMV17]).

An existence theory for nonlinear superposition operators of mixed fractional order

Abstract:We establish the existence of multiple solutions for a nonlinear problem of critical type. The problem considered is fractional in nature, since it is obtained by the superposition of $(s,p)$-fractional Laplacians of different orders. The results obtained are new even in the case of the sum of two different fractional $p$-Laplacians, or the sum of a fractional $p$-Laplacian and a classical $p$-Laplacian, but our framework is general enough to address also the sum of finitely, or even infinitely many, operators. In fact, we can also consider the superposition of a continuum of operators, modulated by a general signed measure on the fractional exponents. When this measure is not positive, the contributions of the individual operators to the whole superposition operator is allowed to change sign. In this situation, our structural assumption is that the positive measure on the higher fractional exponents dominates the rest of the signed measure.

Abstract:The work considers a system of fractional order partial differential equations. The existence and uniqueness theorems for the classical solution of initial-boundary value problems are proved in two cases: 1) the right-hand side of the equation does not depend on the solution of the problem and 2) it depends on the solution, but at the same time satisfies the classical Lipschitz condition with respect to this variable and an additional condition which guarantees a global existence of the solution. Sufficient conditions are found (in some cases they are necessary) on the initial function and on the right-hand side of the equation, which ensure the existence of a classical solution. In previously known works, linear but more general systems of fractional pseudodifferential equations were considered and the existence of a weak solution was proven in the special classes of distributions.

Abstract:The aim of this paper is to derive sufficient conditions for the existence, uniqueness, and Hyers–Ulam stability of solutions to a new nonlinear fractional integro‐differential equation with functional boundary conditions, using several fixed‐point theorems, the multivariate Mittag‐Leffler function and Babenko's approach. A few examples are also presented to illustrate the applications of our results based on approximate values of a couple of Mittag‐Leffler functions calculated by Python codes. Furthermore, the approaches used have a wide range of applications to various fractional differential equations with initial or boundary conditions or integral equations in complete spaces.

Abstract:Abstract In this paper, we consider a nonlinear sequential q -difference equation based on the Caputo fractional quantum derivatives with nonlocal boundary value conditions containing Riemann–Liouville fractional quantum integrals in four points. In this direction, we derive some criteria and conditions of the existence and uniqueness of solutions to a given Caputo fractional q -difference boundary value problem. Some pure techniques based on condensing operators and Sadovskii’s measure and the eigenvalue of an operator are employed to prove the main results. Also, the Ulam–Hyers stability and generalized Ulam–Hyers stability are investigated. We examine our results by providing two illustrative examples.

Abstract:We study a class of nonlinear implicit fractional differential equations subject to nonlocal boundary conditions expressed in terms of nonlinear integro-differential equations. Using the Krasnosel'skii fixed-point theorem we prove, via the Kolmogorov–Riesz criteria, the existence of solutions. The existence results are established in a specific fractional derivative Banach space and they are illustrated by two numerical examples.

On linear Schrödinger parabolic problems in Morrey spaces

Abstract:We consider parabolic Schrödinger type equations associated to fractional powers of uniformly elliptic 2m-order operators with constant coefficients. Potentials and initial data are considered in suitable Morrey spaces. By means of perturbation techniques we prove that several properties of the problem with no potential are preserved. We also prove continuous dependence of solutions with respect to perturbations. To carry out the analysis a general abstract perturbation approach is developed, which broadens the results known in the literature.

Abstract:In this work, we prove the existence of a solution for the initial value problem of nonlinear fractional differential equation with quadratic perturbations involving the Caputo fractional derivative ( cDα0+−ρt cDβ0+)(x(t)f(t,x(t)))=g(t,x(t)),t∈J=[0,1],1<α<2,0<β<α( cD0+α−ρt cD0+β)(x(t)f(t,x(t)))=g(t,x(t)),t∈J=[0,1],1<α<2,0<β<α with conditions x0=x(0)f(0,x(0))x0=x(0)f(0,x(0)) and \\x1=x(1)f(1,x(1))x1=x(1)f(1,x(1)). Dhage's fixed-point the theorem was used to establish this existence. As an application, we have given example to demonstrate the effectiveness of our main result.
