Abstract:We report the development and performance of on-chip interconnects designed to suppress electromagnetic (EM) crosstalk in spin qubit device architectures with the large number of gate electrodes needed for multi- qubit operation. Our design improves the performance of typical device interconnects via the use of minia- turised ohmic contacts and interspersed ground guards. Low temperature measurements and numerical simulation confirm that control and readout signal crosstalk can be suppressed to levels of order 1%, from dc to 1 GHz.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The problem that this paper attempts to solve is the impact of on - chip electromagnetic (EM) crosstalk on the performance of spin - qubit devices in multi - qubit operations. Specifically, the paper focuses on how to suppress the electromagnetic crosstalk between control and read - out signals by improving the on - chip interconnection design, thereby improving the fidelity of qubit control and reducing non - Markovian noise and related errors. These errors may cause originally independent qubits to fail simultaneously, which in turn affects the effectiveness of quantum error - correction coding (QEC). By using the methods of miniaturized ohmic contacts and spaced - ground protection, the paper shows that in the frequency range from direct current to 1 GHz, the crosstalk of control and read - out signals can be suppressed to approximately 1% level, and the performance is improved by more than an order of magnitude compared with previous schemes.
