Abstract:Discrete-time systems are sometimes used to explain natural phenomena encountered in nonlinear sciences. We study the periodicity, boundedness, oscillation, stability, and some exact solutions of nonlinear difference equations. Exact solutions are obtained by using the standard iterative method. Some well-known theorems are used to test the stability of equilibrium points. Some numerical examples are also provided to confirm the validity of the theoretical results. The numerical component is implemented with the Wolfram Mathematica. The presented method may be simply applied to some other rational recursive issues. Abstract:It was recently conjectured that every component of a discrete-time rational dynamical system is a solution to an algebraic difference equation that is linear in its highest-shift term (a quasi-linear equation). We prove that the conjecture holds in the special case of holonomic sequences, which can straightforwardly be represented by rational dynamical systems. We propose two algorithms for converting holonomic recurrence equations into such quasi-linear equations. The two algorithms differ in their efficiency and the minimality of orders in their outputs.

Abstract:It is shown that if It is shown that if \begin{equation}\label{abstract_eq} f(z+1)^n=R(z,f),\tag† \end{equation} where $R(z,f)$ is rational in $f$ with meromorphic coefficients and $°_f(R(z,f))=n$, has an admissible meromorphic solution, then either $f$ satisfies a difference linear or Riccati equation with meromorphic coefficients, or \eqref{abstract_eq} can be transformed into one in a list of ten equations with certain meromorphic or algebroid coefficients. In particular, if \eqref{abstract_eq}, where the assumption $°_f(R(z,f))=n$ has been discarded, has rational coefficients and a transcendental meromorphic solution $f$ of hyper-order $<1$, then either $f$ satisfies a difference linear or Riccati equation with rational coefficients, or \eqref{abstract_eq} can be transformed into one in a list of five equations which consists of four difference Fermat equations and one equation which is a special case of the symmetric QRT map. Solutions to all of these equations are presented in terms of Weierstrass or Jacobi elliptic functions, or in terms of meromorphic functions which are solutions to a difference Riccati equation. This provides a natural difference analogue of Steinmetz' generalization of Malmquist's theorem.

Rational Solutions to the First Order Difference Equations in the Bivariate Difference Field

Abstract:Inspired by Karr's algorithm, we consider the summations involving a sequence satisfying a recurrence of order two. The structure of such summations provides an algebraic framework for solving the difference equations of form $a\sigma(g)+bg=f$ in the bivariate difference field $(\mathbb{F}(\alpha, \beta), \sigma)$, where $a, b,f\in\mathbb{F}(\alpha,\beta)\setminus\{0\}$ are known binary functions of $\alpha$, $\beta$, and $\alpha$, $\beta$ are two algebraically independent transcendental elements, $\sigma$ is a transformation that satisfies $\sigma(\alpha)=\beta$, $\sigma(\beta)=u\alpha+v\beta$, where $u,v\neq 0\in\mathbb{F}$. Based on it, we then describe algorithms for finding the universal denominator for those equations in the bivariate difference field under certain assumptions. This reduces the general problem of finding the rational solutions of such equations to the problem of finding the polynomial solutions of such equations.

Abstract:We explore the existence, uniqueness, and multiplicity of positive solutions to a system of fractional q-difference equations that include fractional q-integrals. This investigation is carried out under coupled multi-point boundary conditions featuring q-derivatives and fractional q-derivatives of various orders. The proofs of our principal findings employ a range of fixed-point theorems, including the Guo–Krasnosel'skii fixed-point theorem, the Leggett–Williams fixed-point theorem, the Schauder fixed-point theorem, and the Banach contraction mapping principle.

Abstract:It is shown that if the equation where R ( z , f ) is rational in both arguments and , has a transcendental meromorphic solution, then the equation above reduces into one out of several types of difference equations where the rational term R ( z , f ) takes particular forms. Solutions of these equations are presented in terms of Weierstrass or Jacobian elliptic functions, exponential type functions or functions which are solutions to a certain autonomous first-order difference equation having meromorphic solutions with preassigned asymptotic behavior. These results complement our previous work on the case of the equation above and thus provide a complete difference analogue of Steinmetz' generalization of Malmquist's theorem.

Abstract:In this paper, using the properties of the conformable fractional difference and fractional sum, we initially establish some oscillatory and asymptotic criteria for a fifth-order fractional difference equation. Several critical inequalities, the Riccati transformation technique, and the integral technique are used in the deduction process. We provide some example to test the results. The established criteria are new results in the study of oscillation, and can be extended to other types of high-order fractional difference equations as well as fractional differential equations with more complicated forms.

Abstract:The bivariate difference field provides an algebraic framework for a sequence satisfying a recurrence of order two. Based on this, we focus on sequences satisfying a recurrence of higher order, and consider the multivariate difference field, in which the summation problem could be transformed into solving the first order difference equations. We then show a criterion for deciding whether the difference equation has a rational solution and present an algorithm for computing one rational solution of such a difference equation, if it exists. Moreover we get the rational solution set of such an equation.

Abstract:We are investigating the existence of solutions to a system of two fractional q-difference equations containing fractional q-integral terms, subject to multi-point boundary conditions that encompass q-derivatives and fractional q-derivatives of different orders. In our main results, we rely on various fixed point theorems, such as the Leray–Schauder nonlinear alternative, the Schaefer fixed point theorem, the Krasnosel'skii fixed point theorem for the sum of two operators, and the Banach contraction mapping principle. Finally, several examples are provided to illustrate our findings.

Abstract:Several novel rational solutions with nonzero boundary condition for the Kundu equation, which is an important physical model, are derived using the technique of generalized Darboux transformation. It is the first time that a systemic analysis has been conducted on such rational solutions for the Kundu equation. For the 1-order rational solutions with nonzero boundary conditions, our findings reveal that three parameters, a , b , and β , which are associated with the effects of self-steepening, self-phase modulation, and quintic nonlinearity in the Kundu equation, can result in four distinct states for case B and five distinct states for case C, all corresponding to rational solutions with nonzero boundary conditions.

Abstract:The paper considers the Cauchy problem for the system of partial differential equations of fractional order $D_t^{\mathcal{B}} {U}(t,x) + \mathbb{A}(D) {U} (t,x)=H(t,x) $. Here $U$ and $H$ are vector-functions, the $m\times m$ matrix of differential operators $\mathbb{A}(D)$ is triangular (elements above or below the diagonal are zero). Operators located on the diagonal are elliptic. The main distinctive feature of this system is that the vector-order $\mathcal{B}$ has different components $\beta_j\in (0,1]$, and $\beta_j$ are not necessarily rational. Sufficient conditions (in some cases they are necessary) on the initial function and the right-hand side of the equation are found to ensure the existence of a classical solution. Note that the existence of a classical solution to systems of fractional differential equations was studied by various authors, but in all these works the fractional order had the same components for each equation: $\beta_j=\beta$, $j=1,...,m$.

Abstract:The work considers a system of fractional order partial differential equations. The existence and uniqueness theorems for the classical solution of initial-boundary value problems are proved in two cases: 1) the right-hand side of the equation does not depend on the solution of the problem and 2) it depends on the solution, but at the same time satisfies the classical Lipschitz condition with respect to this variable and an additional condition which guarantees a global existence of the solution. Sufficient conditions are found (in some cases they are necessary) on the initial function and on the right-hand side of the equation, which ensure the existence of a classical solution. In previously known works, linear but more general systems of fractional pseudodifferential equations were considered and the existence of a weak solution was proven in the special classes of distributions.
