Abstract:A 40-year-old male patient presented to the Stomatology Department with a complaint of a painless blister on the gingiva, which had been present for 15 days. During the extraoral clinical examination, a surgical scar in the region of the left parotid gland was noted. The patient mentioned the prior removal of a lymphoepithelial cyst 6 months before the appearance of the oral lesion. An examination revealed a single, well-defined purple nodule measuring 1 cm in its largest dimension, located on the lower gingiva.

Abstract:A 35-year-old Brazilian woman presented to her dentist with an upper lip nodule. According to the patient, the nodule had been present for approximately 3 months. The lesion was asymptomatic, and the patient denied any other skin lesion or preceding trauma; however, she reported squeezing the lesion between two fingers, discharging a yellowish material. Her past medical history was non-contributory and she had been following up with a dermatologist for acne treatment, achieving satisfactory results.

Abstract:Case 1: A 40-year-old woman presented with a bluish papule on the buccally inserted gingiva in the left mandible, which was asymptomatic and had been evolving for 3 months. Case 2: A 75-year-old woman, during a periapical radiographic examination, displayed a well-defined unilocular radiolucent area in the left mandibular body, near the canine. During intra-oral physical examination, the teeth on the same side responded to sensitivity tests. In both cases, excisional biopsies were conducted with the preliminary diagnoses of an adult gingival cyst and a lateral periodontal cyst, respectively.

Abstract:The lymphoepithelial cyst is a rare soft-tissue cyst that can arise in various organs, such as the pancreas, stomach, and thyroid. The oral lymphoepithelial cyst (OLC) represents less than 1% of all oral lesions. Most OLC occurs in female adults as a slow-growing painless nodule that appears on the floor of the mouth or the lateral border of the tongue, usually with a yellow-to-white color. The present case describes an asymptomatic pedunculated nodule in the palatoglossal arch, in a 36-year-old female patient.

Abstract:A 37-year-old female patient was referred to our specialized oral surgery service due to pain in the right posterior mandible. Upon radiographic examination, a cystic lesion associated with tooth 48 was identified. Subsequently, the patient underwent surgical treatment for the cystic lesion, along with the reconstruction of the residual area using a titanium plate. Initially, the procedure was successful; however, it was later complicated by recurrent infections. Further hematological examinations showed no signs of infection, but a non-specific eosinophilia was observed.

Abstract:A 26-year-old woman presented with a gradually enlarging, asymptomatic lump in her right cheek, which she first noticed a year prior. The perception of the lesion was enhanced with mouth opening, revealing a solitary, well-defined, fibrous nodule near the lower edge of the zygomatic border. Initially diagnosed clinically as a lipoma, the lesion was surgically excised. Microscopic examination revealed multiple closely juxtaposed cystic structures of varying sizes, with a few papillary areas organized in non-encapsulated lobules.

There was a previous history of swelling and purulent drainage, which was treated with antibiotics one month prior. Abstract:A 16-year-old male patient presented to the oral and maxillofacial surgery service with a painless swelling in the maxilla. Clinically, a noticeable increase in volume was observed in the region of the upper left canine, resulting in facial asymmetry. A cone-beam computed tomography revealed a well-defined, radiolucent lesion measuring approximately 10mm in diameter. Based on the clinical and radiographic appearance, an excisional biopsy was performed. Microscopic examination of the specimen showed a fibrous capsule covered by odontogenic epithelium with extensive intraluminal projections, characterized by the presence of plexiform cords, ductiform structures, and formations resembling rosettes.

Abstract:A 46-year-old male patient was referred due to a concern about a lesion in the left mandible. Physical examination revealed a history of an increase in volume in the posterior region of the mandible over approximately eight months. Imaging examinations showed a unilocular radiolucent area in the body and left mandibular branch, along with resorption of the roots of tooth 36. Additionally, an impacted tooth 18 with cystic characteristics was observed in the right maxilla. Incisional biopsies were performed in both the mandible and maxilla, leading to a diagnosis of odontogenic keratocyst and dentigerous cyst, respectively.

Abstract:A 57-year-old woman sought dental care for an asymptomatic lesion in the lower molar region, with one year of evolution. She had no underlying disease. Clinical examination revealed a smooth, normochromic, pedunculated nodule measuring 0.5 cm in diameter in the gingiva region of tooth 46. The diagnostic hypothesis was pyogenic granuloma. An excisional biopsy was performed, and the histopathological report was peripheral ossifying fibroma (POF) combined with peripheral giant cell lesion (PGCL). The literature reports that POF and PGCL have similar etiologies and may be associated with local irritative factors.

Abstract:We report a rare case of an extramedullary plasmacytoma in the gingiva of an otherwise healthy 44-year-old man who presented with a complaint of a one-year asymptomatic nodule in the maxillary gingiva. Clinically, there was a 1 cm, reddish, fibrous nodule in the vestibular gingiva between the roots of teeth 11 and 13. Panoramic radiograph and cone beam computed tomography showed a discrete hypodense image, displacing the roots of affected teeth, expanding and eroding the maxillary bone. Incisional biopsy showed a plasmacytoma.

Abstract:A 55-year-old male patient with black skin presented to the Oral Diagnosis Clinic with complaints of gum pain and bleeding. Intraoral examination revealed widespread erythema in the attached gingiva and a significant buildup of dental calculus. To rule out the diagnosis of plaque-induced gingivitis and reduce inflammation before an incisional biopsy, a supragingival scaling was suggested. During this procedure, a gingival blister was inadvertently induced and interpreted as a positive Nikolsky sign.

The lesion was singular, red in color, had a firm consistency, a sessile base, sensitivity to touch, and measured approximately 3.5 cm in size. The patient had a medical history of sinusitis, anxiety, depression, systemic arterial hypertension, and diabetes. She reported a smoking habit of thirty-five years with a frequency of five cigarettes a day. To establish a diagnosis, tomography and an incisional biopsy were performed, with the initial hypothesis being pleomorphic adenoma.
