Abstract:This work considers the Keller-Segel consumption system \begin{eqnarray*} \left\{ \begin{array}{llll} u_t=\Delta (u\phi(v))+au-bu^\gamma,\quad &x\in \Omega,\quad t>0,\\ v_t=\Delta v-uv,\quad &x\in\Omega,\quad t>0 \end{array} \right. \end{eqnarray*} in a smoothly bounded domain $\Omega\subset \mathbb{R}^n,$ $n\geq1$, under no-flux boundary conditions, where the parameters $a,b>0$, $\gamma\geq2$, and the motility function $\phi$ suitably generalizes the prototype given by $\phi(s)=s^\alpha$ for all $s\geq0$ with $\alpha>0$. When $\phi$ is appropriately smooth with $\alpha\geq1$, it is shown that if one of the following cases holds: (i) $\gamma>2$; (ii) $\gamma=2$, either $n\leq2$ or $n\geq3$ and $b$ is sufficiently large, then for all suitably regular initial data global classical solutions can be constructed. Whereas when $\phi$ is considered to be with rather mild regularity properties and $\gamma=2$, for arbitrary $b>0$, this system admits at least one global weak solution in case $\alpha>0$. In addition, if $\phi$ is suitably smooth with $\alpha>1$, then the above weak solutions become eventually smooth.

Abstract:This paper is devoted to a chemotaxis system with signal-dependent motility under homogeneous Neumann boundary conditions in a bounded domain. We prove that this problem possesses a global classical solution which is uniformly bounded under weaker conditions than that obtained by Lv and Wang (2020). The findings of our study demonstrate the presence of a consistent decay rate, effectively ruling out the occurrence of blow-up phenomena in the system across all spatial dimensions.

Abstract:While much literature on chemotaxis systems focuses on bounded domains, this paper emphasizes the global existence of classical solutions for three primary chemotaxis systems with a logistic source on $\mathbb{R}^n$. We present a unified proof demonstrating global existence of solutions can be deduced from their locally uniform boundedness in $L^p(\mathbb{R}^n)$ for some $p>\max\{1,\frac{n}{2}\}$. We then provide sufficient conditions for the global existence and boundedness of classical solutions. Notably, our findings even improve several existing results for bounded domains.

Abstract:This paper deals with the following quasilinear chemotaxis system with consumption of chemoattractant in a bounded domain with smooth boundary . It is shown that if , for any reasonably smooth nonnegative initial data, the corresponding no-flux type initial-boundary value problem possesses a globally bounded weak solution. Furthermore, we prove that the solution converges to the spatially homogeneous equilibrium in an appropriate sense as , where . This result not only partly extends the previous global boundedness result in Fan and Jin (J. Math. Phys.58 (2017), 011503) and Wang and Xiang (Z. Angew. Math. It is proved that if $n\leq 2$ and $\mu>0$, for all suitably regular initial data, this model possesses a unique global classical solution which is uniformly-in-time bounded. While in the case $n\geq 3$, we show that if $\mu$ is sufficiently large, this system possesses a global bounded solution. Furthermore, the large time behavior and rates of convergence have also been considered under some explicit conditions.

By constructing suitable Lyapunov functional, we prove that if a > χ 2 4 , there exists a positive constant m ∗ such that ∫ Ω u ≥ m ∗ . Based on above result, the lower bound estimates for w and v have been established. When b is large enough and α > max { 0 , 1 − 4 N } , we further prove that the system has a global bounded classical solution. Abstract:This work considers the chemotaxis-growth system ∂ t u = Δ u − ∇ ⋅ ( u ∇ v ) + u − u α , ∂ t v = Δ v − v + w , ∂ t w = u − δ w , } in R d × R + , where d ≥ 2 , α ≥ 2 and δ > 0 . In a smooth bounded domain Ω, the global boundedness of smooth solutions to this system depends on | Ω | , which implies that the methods on bounded domain are not feasible for the Cauchy problem. Recently, the second author of this paper and Zheng [13] proved boundedness of classical Keller-Segel system with logistic term in R d by a nice coupled structure. However, such a nice coupled structure disappears to this system. Using the coupled structure and damping effects, involving with special time weighted local-in-space energy-type functional and Littlewood-Paley decomposition, we prove the global-in-time existence and boundedness of classical solutions to this system in R d for α > d 2 , which gives new approaches on dealing with some complex equations by the idea of localization.

Precisely for \(\chi<1$ and any sufficiently regular initial data $u(x,0)\geq0$ and $v(x,0)>0$ on $\bar{\varOmega}$, we show the existence of global classical solutions. Moreover, if additionally $m:=\int _{\varOmega}u(x,0) dx$ is sufficiently small, then also their boundedness is achieved.

Abstract:This paper investigates the spreading properties of globally defined bounded positive solutions of a chemotaxis system featuring a logistic source and consumption: \[ \left\{ \begin{aligned} &\partial_tu=\Delta u - \chi\nabla\cdot(u\nabla v)+ u(a-bu),\quad &(t,x)\in [0,\infty)\times\mathbb{R}^N, \\ &{\tau \partial_tv}=\Delta v-uv,\quad & (t,x)\in [0,\infty)\times\mathbb{R}^N, \end{aligned} \right. \] where $u(t,x)$ represents the population density of a biological species, and $v(t,x)$ denotes the density of a chemical substance. Key findings of this study include: (i) the species spreads at least at the speed $c^*=2\sqrt a$ (equalling the speed when $v\equiv 0$), suggesting that the chemical substance does not hinder the spreading; (ii) the chemical substance does not induce infinitely fast spreading of $u$; (iii) the spreading speed remains unaffected under conditions that $v(0,\cdot)$ decays spatially or $0<-\chi\ll 1$ and $\tau=1$. Additionally, our numerical simulations reveal a noteworthy phase transition in $\chi$: for $v(0, \cdot)$ uniformly distributed across space, the spreading speed accelerates only when $\chi$ surpasses a critical positive value.

Abstract:We study the global existence and boundedness of solutions to a chemotaxis system with weakly singular sensitivity and sub-logistic sources in a two dimensional domain. X. Zhao (Nonlinearity; 2023; 36; 3909-3938 ) showed that the logistic degradation, $-\mu u^2$, can prevent blow-up under the largeness assumption on $\mu$. In this paper, we improve the result by replacing the quadratic degradation by sub-logistic one, $-\frac{\mu u^2}{\ln^\beta(u+e)}$ with $\beta \in (0,1)$, and removing the largeness assumption on $\mu$.

In the above system without fluid environment Jin (J. Differential Equations, 2017) showed existence and boundedness of global weak solutions. On the other hand, in the above system with $m=1$, Lankeit (Math.\ Models Methods Appl. Sci., 2016) established global existence of weak solutions. However, the above system with $m>0$ has not been studied yet. The purpose of this talk is to establish global existence of weak solutions in the chemotaxis-Navier--Stokes system with degenerate diffusion and logistic term.
