Abstract:In this paper, we first establish an $L^2$-type Dolbeault isomorphism for logarithmic differential forms by Hormanderu0027s $L^2$-estimates. By using this isomorphism and the construction of smooth Hermitian metrics, we obtain a number of new vanishing theorems for sheaves of logarithmic differential forms on compact Kahler manifolds with simple normal crossing divisors, which generalize several classical vanishing theorems, including Norimatsuu0027s vanishing theorem, Gibrauu0027s vanishing theorem, Le Potieru0027s vanishing theorem and a version of the Kawamata-Viehweg vanishing theorem.

A kit for linear forms in three logarithms

Abstract:We provide a technique to obtain explicit bounds for problems that can be reduced to linear forms in three complex logarithms of algebraic numbers. This technique can produce bounds significantly better than general results on lower bounds for linear forms in logarithms. We give worked examples to demonstrate both the use of our technique and the improvements it provides. Publicly shared code is also available.

Abstract:Weak Jacobi forms of weight $0$ and index $m$ can be exponentially lifted to meromorphic Siegel paramodular forms. It was recently observed that the Fourier coefficients of such lifts are then either fast growing or slow growing. In this note we investigate the space of weak Jacobi forms that lead to slow growth. We provide analytic and numerical evidence for the conjecture that there are such slow growing forms for any index $m$.

Abstract:In this article, we are interested in modular forms with non-vanishing central critical values and linear independence of Fourier coefficients of modular forms. The main ingredient is a generalization of a theorem due to VanderKam to modular symbols of higher weights. We prove that for sufficiently large primes p , Hecke operators act linearly independently on the winding elements inside the space of weight 2 k cuspidal modular symbol with for . This gives a bound on the number of newforms with non-vanishing arithmetic L -functions at their central critical points and linear independence on the reductions of these modular forms for prime modulo .

Abstract:The history of the theory of linear forms in logarithms is well known. We shall briefly sketch only some of the moments connected with new technical progress and important for our article. This theory was originated by pioneer works of A.O. Gelfond (see, for example, [5, 6]); with the help of the ideas which arose in connection with the solution of 7-th Hilbert problem (construction of auxiliary functions, extrapolation of zeros and small values), the bounds for the homogenous linear forms in two logarithms were proved. In the middle of the sixties A. Baker, [1], using auxiliary functions in several complex variables, for the first time obtained bounds for linear forms in any number of logarithms, both in the homogenous and non-homogenous cases. All further development of the theory is connected with improvements of these bounds. So N.I. Feldman introduced the so-called binomial polynomials in the construction of the auxiliary function, and due to this the dependence of the bounds on the coefficients of the linear forms was improved. The Kummer theory was used by A. Baker and H. Stark, [2], to improve the dependence of the estimates on the parameters related to the algebraic numbers appearing as arguments of the logarithms. The further improvements of this dependence are connected with the introduction of bounds for the number of zeros of polynomials on algebraic groups in works of G. Wüstholz. [14], P. Philippon and M. Waldschmidt, [11], A. Baker and G. Wüstholz, [3].

Non-holomorphic modular forms from zeta generators

Abstract:We study non-holomorphic modular forms built from iterated integrals of holomorphic modular forms for SL$(2,\mathbb Z)$ known as equivariant iterated Eisenstein integrals. A special subclass of them furnishes an equivalent description of the modular graph forms appearing in the low-energy expansion of string amplitudes at genus one. Notably the Fourier expansion of modular graph forms contains single-valued multiple zeta values. We deduce the appearance of products and higher-depth instances of multiple zeta values in equivariant iterated Eisenstein integrals, and ultimately modular graph forms, from the appearance of simpler odd Riemann zeta values. This analysis relies on so-called zeta generators which act on certain non-commutative variables in the generating series of the iterated integrals. From an extension of these non-commutative variables we incorporate iterated integrals involving holomorphic cusp forms into our setup and use them to construct the modular completion of triple Eisenstein integrals. Our work represents a fully explicit realisation of the modular graph forms within Brown's framework of equivariant iterated Eisenstein integrals and reveals structural analogies between single-valued period functions appearing in genus zero and one string amplitudes.

Asymptotic expansion for the Fourier coefficients associated with the inverse of the modular discriminant function $Δ$

Abstract:There have been a plethora of investigations carried out in studying inequalities for the Fourier coefficients of weakly holomorphic modular forms, for example, on the partition function. Recently, Bringmann, Kane, Rolen, and Tripp studied asymptotics for the $k$-colored partition function and more generally, for the fractional partitions arising from the Nekrasov-Okounkov formula which in turn allowed them to prove generalized multiplicative inequalities. Motivated by their idea to find interesting inequalities for the $k$-colored partition functions, denoted by $p_k(n)$, in this paper, we prove a family of inequalities for the $p_{24}(n)$. The main aim of this paper is to study the asymptotic expansion with an effective estimate for the error bound regarding the Fourier coefficients of the modular form $1/\Delta$ (up to a constant $c$ and a power of $q$), where $\Delta$ is the modular discriminant function and a well-known combinatorial interpretation for the associated coefficient sequence is called $24$-colored partitions, denoted by $p_{24}(n)$. Consequently, we show that $p_{24}(n)$ satisfies $2$-$\log$-concavity, Turán inequality of order $3$, and Laguerre inequalities of order $m$ with $2\le m\le 8$ eventually. Our method of estimations for the error term of the asymptotic expansion for $p_{24}(n)$ can be adapted in a more general paradigm where the Fourier coefficients of a certain class of Dedekind-eta quotients which are essentially a modular form of negative weight, admit a Rademacher type exact formula involving the $I$-Bessel function of positive order.

Logarithmic models and meromorphic functions in dimension two

Abstract:In this article we describe the construction of logarithmic models for germs of plane singular analytic foliations, both real and complex. A logarithmic model is a germ of closed meromorphic 1-form with simple poles produced upon some specified geometric data: the structure of dicritical (non-invariant) components in the exceptional divisor of its reduction of singularities, a prescribed finite set of separatrices - invariant analytic branches at the origin - and Camacho-Sad indices with respect to these separatrices. As an application, we use logarithmic models in order to construct real and complex germs of meromorphic functions with a given indeterminacy structure and prescribed sets of zeroes and poles. Also, in the real case, logarithmic models are used in order to build germs of analytic vector fields with a given Bendixson's sectorial decomposition of a neighborhood of $0 \in \mathbb{R}^{2}$ into hyperbolic, parabolic and elliptic sectors. This is carried out in the specific case where all trajectories accumulating to the origin are contained in analytic curves. As a consequence, we can produce real meromorphic functions with a prescribed sectorial decomposition.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the Laurent coefficients of meromorphic modular forms at CM points by giving two approaches of computing them. The first is a generalization of the method of Rodriguez-Villegas and Zagier, which expresses the Laurent coefficients as constant terms of a family of polynomials obtained through recursion. The second applies to meromorphic modular forms that are regularized theta lifts, and expresses their Laurent coefficients in terms of Fourier coefficients of harmonic Maass forms.

Abstract:We investigate a new family of locally harmonic Maass forms which correspond to periods of modular forms. They transform like negative weight modular forms and are harmonic apart from jump singularities along infinite geodesics. Our main result is an explicit splitting of the new locally harmonic Maass forms into a harmonic part and a locally polynomial part that captures the jump singularities. As an application, we obtain finite rational formulas for suitable linear combinations of periods of meromorphic modular forms associated to positive definite binary quadratic forms.

Abstract:We use the theory of logarithmic line bundles to construct compactifications of spaces of roots of a line bundle on a family of curves, generalising work of a number of authors. This runs via a study of the torsion in the tropical and logarithmic jacobians (recently constructed by Molcho and Wise). Our moduli space carries a `double ramification cycle' measuring the locus where the given root is isomorphic to the trivial bundle, and we give a tautological formula for this class in the language of piecewise polynomial functions (as recently developed by Molcho-Pandharipande-Schmitt and Holmes-Schwarz).

The Arithmetic of the Fourier Coefficients of Automorphic Forms

Abstract:This thesis studies modular forms from a classical and adelic viewpoint. We use this interplay to obtain results about the arithmetic of the Fourier coefficients of modular forms and their generalisations. In Chapter 2, we compute lower bounds for the $p$-adic valuation of local Whittaker newforms with non-trivial central character. We obtain these bounds by using the local Fourier analysis of these local Whittaker newforms and the $p$-adic properties of $\eps$-factors for $\GL_1$. In Chapter 3, we study the fields generated by the Fourier coefficients of Hilbert newforms at arbitrary cusps. Precisely, given a cuspidal Hilbert newform $f$ and a matrix $\sigma$ in (a suitable conjugate of) the Hilbert modular group, we give a cyclotomic extension of the field generated by the Fourier coefficients at infinity which contains all the Fourier coefficients of $f||_k\sigma$. Chapters 2 and 3 are independent of each other and can be read in either order. In Chapter 4, we briefly discuss the relation between these two chapters and mention potential future work.

Abstract:In this paper, we generalize D. H. Lehmer's result to give a sufficient condition for level one cusp forms f with integral Fourier coefficients such that the smallest n for which the coefficients a_n(f)=0 must be a prime. Then we describe a method to compute a bound B of n such that a_n(f)0 for all n<B. As examples, we achieve the explicit bounds B_k for the unique cusp form Δ_k of level one and weight k with k=16, 18, 20, 22, 26 such that a_n(Δ_k)0 for all n<B_k.

Abstract:In this article, we show that Fourier eigenmeasures supported on spheres with radii given by a locally finite sequence, which we call $k$-spherical measures, correspond to Fourier series exhibiting a modular-type transformation behaviour with respect to the metaplectic group. A familiar subset of such Fourier series comprises holomorphic modular forms. This allows us to construct $k$-spherical eigenmeasures and derive Poisson-type summation formulas, thereby recovering formulas of a similar nature established by Cohn-Gonçalves, Lev-Reti, and Meyer, among others. Additionally, we extend our results to higher dimensions, where Hilbert modular forms yield higher-dimensional $k$-spherical measures.
