Abstract:We construct Patterson-Sullivan measure and a natural metric on the unit space of a hyperbolic groupoid. In particular, this gives a new approach to defining SRB measures on Smale spaces using Gromov hyperbolic graphs.

Abstract:We prove a quantitative version of the classical Tits' alternative for discrete groups acting on packed Gromov-hyperbolic spaces supporting a convex geodesic bicombing. Some geometric consequences, as uniform estimates on systole, diastole, algebraic entropy and critical exponent of the groups, will be presented. Finally we will study the behaviour of these group actions under limits, providing new examples of compact classes of metric spaces.

Abstract:In 2016, Dovgoshey et al. introduced a metric on proper subdomains G of Euclidean spaces and studied its connection with several hyperbolic type metrics. In this paper, we consider the Gromov hyperbolicity of and show that there is a natural quasisymmetric homeomorphism between the Euclidean boundary of G and the Gromov boundary of equipped with a visual metric.

Abstract:In this paper, an approach for generalizing the Gromov-Hausdorff metric is presented, which applies to metric spaces equipped with some additional structure. A special case is the Gromov-Hausdorff-Prokhorov metric between measured metric spaces. This abstract framework unifies several existing Gromov-Hausdorff-type metrics for metric spaces equipped with a measure, a point, a closed subset, a curve, a tuple of such structures, etc. Along with reviewing these special cases in the literature, several new examples are also presented. Two frameworks are provided, one for compact metric spaces and the other for boundedly-compact pointed metric spaces. In both cases, a Gromov-Hausdorff-type metric is defined and its topological properties are studied. In particular, completeness and separability is proved under some conditions. This enables one to study random metric spaces equipped with additional structures, which is the main motivation of this work.

Abstract:Given a polarized Kähler manifold (X,L). The space ℋ of Kähler metrics in $$ 2_\Pi {c_1}{(L)}$$ is an infinite-dimensional Riemannian symmetric space. As a metric space, it has non-positive curvature. There is associated to ℋ a sequence of finite-dimensional symmetric spaces $$ \mathcal{B}_{k}{({k}\, \epsilon \,\mathbb{N})} $$ of non-compact Type. We prove that ℋ is the limit of $$ \mathcal{B}_{k} $$ as metric spaces in certain sense. As applications, this provides more geometric proofs of certain known geometric properties of the space ℋ.

Abstract:We give a geometric characterization of the quantitative non-integrability, introduced by Katz, of strong stable and unstable bundles of partially hyperbolic measures and sets in dimension 3. This is done via the use of higher order templates for the invariant bundles. Using the recent work of Katz, we derive some consequences, including the measure rigidity of $uu$-states and the existence of physical measures.

Abstract:For geometrically finite group actions on hyperbolic metric spaces and under certain assumptions on the growth of parabolic subgroups, we prove a global shadow lemma for Patterson-Sullivan measures, as well as a Dirichlet-type theorem and a logarithm law for excursion of geodesics into cusps. We then apply these results to geometrically finite quotients of strictly convex Hilbert geometries with C^1 boundary.

Abstract:The author was recently able to provide a cohomological interpretation of Tate's Riemann-Roch formula for number fields using some new harmonic analysis objects, ghost-spaces. When trying to investigate these objects in general, we realized the importance of functions and measures on locally compact abelian groups that are both positive and positive-definite at the same time. It looks like this class of functions and measures was not systematically studied before. The goal of this paper is to partially fill in this gap. We answer some of the natural questions involving these functions and measures, especially those that satisfy some extra integrability conditions. We also study some operations and constructions involving these functions and measures. There are several very interesting open questions, that we are only able to point out at this moment. In particular, the structure of the cone of such functions is not clear even when the group is just $\R.$

Abstract:We prove the existence of SRB measures for diffeomorphisms where a positive volume set of initial conditions satisfy an "effective hyperbolicity" condition that guarantees certain recurrence conditions on the iterates of Lebesgue measure. We give examples of systems that do not admit a dominated splitting but can be shown to have SRB measures using our methods.

Abstract:In this paper we consider a non-atomic invariant hyperbolic measure μ of a C^1 diffeomorphsim on a compact manifold, in whose Oseledec splitting the stable bundle dominates the unstable bundle on μ a.e. points. We show an exponentially shadowing and an exponentially closing lemma, and as applications we show two classical results. One is that there exists a hyperbolic periodic point such that the closure of its unstable manifold has positive measure and it has a homoclinic point from which one can deduce a horseshoe. Moreover, such hyperbolic periodic points are dense in the support supp(μ) of the given hyperbolic measure. Another is to show Livshitz Theorem.

Abstract:We consider the affine-additive group as a metric measure space with a canonical left-invariant measure and a left-invariant sub-Riemannian metric. We prove that this metric measure space is locally 4-Ahlfors regular and it is hyperbolic, meaning that it has a non-vanishing 4-capacity at infinity. This implies that the affine-additive group is not quasiconformally equivalent to the Heisenberg group or to the roto-translation group in contrast to the fact that both of these groups are globally contactomorphic to the affine-additive group. Moreover, each quasiregular map, from the Heisenberg group to the affine-additive group must be constant.

Abstract:We introduce a natural pseudometric on the space of actions of $d$-generated groups, such that the zero classes are exactly the weak equivalence classes and the metric identification with respect to this pseudometric is compact. We analyze convergence in this space and prove that every class contains an action that properly satisfies every combinatorial type condition that it satisfies with arbitrarily small error. We also show that the class of every free non-amenable action contains an action that satisfies the measurable von Neumann problem. The results have analogues in the realm of unitary representations as well.

Abstract:We study the u -Gibbs measures of a certain class of uniformly hyperbolic skew products on . These systems have a strong unstable and a weak unstable direction. Among such skew products, we show the existence of a subset which is -dense and -open for which every u -Gibbs measure is SRB. In particular, there is only one such measure. As an application, we obtain the minimality of the strong unstable foliation.
