Topological Methods in Nonlinear Analysis

Abstract:In this paper, we establish several new fixed point results in the framework of topological spaces endowed with a partial order. Special attention is paid to the case that the topology is induced by a metric. Our conclusions generalize many well-known results. Several examples and illustrative applications are provided to support the exposed results.

Fixed Point Theory and Applications

Abstract:In 1994, Matthews obtained an extension of the celebrated Banach fixed point theorem to the partial metric framework (Ann. N.Y. Acad. Sci. 728:183-197, 1994). Motivated by the Matthews extension of the Banach theorem, we present a Nemytskii-Edelstein type fixed point theorem for self-mappings in partial metric spaces in such a way that the classical one can be retrieved as a particular case of our new result. We give examples which show that the assumed hypothesis in our new result cannot be weakened. Moreover, we show that our new fixed point theorem allows one to find fixed points of mappings in some cases in which the Matthews result and the classical Nemytskii-Edelstein one cannot be applied. Furthermore, we provide a negative answer to the question about whether our new result can be retrieved as a particular case of the classical Nemytskii-Edelstein one whenever the metrization technique, developed by Hitzler and Seda (Mathematical Aspects of Logic Programming Semantics, 2011), is applied to partial metric spaces.

Abstract:This paper explores fixed points for both contractive and non-contractive mappings in traditional b-metric spaces, preordered b-metric spaces, and random b-metric spaces. Our findings provide insights into the behavior of mappings under various constraints and extend our approach to include coincidence and common fixed-point theorems in these spaces. We present new examples and graphical representations for the first time, offering novel results and enhancing several related findings in the literature, while broadening the scope of earlier works of Ran and Reurings, Nieto and Rodríguez-López, Górnicki, and others.

Abstract:In the present work, we will establish and prove some fixed point theorems for mappings that satisfy a set of conditions in controlled metric type spaces introduced by Mlaiki et al. [N. Mlaiki, H. Aydi, N. Souayah, T. Abdeljawad, Controlled metric type spaces and the related contraction principle. Mathematics 2018, 6,194]. Our technique in constructing our new contraction conditions is to insert the control function $ \theta(u, l) $ that appears on the right hand side of the triangular inequality of the definition of the controlled metric spaces in the right hand side of our proposed contraction conditions. Our results enrich the field of fixed point theory with novel findings that generalize many findings found in the literature. We provide an example to show the usefulness of our results. Also, we present an application to our results to show their significance.

Abstract:In this paper, we prove the existence and uniqueness of common fixed point of tower type contractive mappings in complete metric (pseudo)modular spaces involving the theoretic relation. However, the newly introduced contraction in this paper further characterize and includes in their full strength several existing results in metrical fixed point theory. Some nontrivial supportive examples were given to justify our result. Our results generalize, improve, and unify some existing results.

Abstract:In this paper, we extend the result of Wardowski (Fixed Point Theory Appl. 2012:94, 2012) by applying some weaker conditions on the self map of a complete metric space and on the mapping F, concerning the contractions defined by Wardowski. Abstract:Banach contraction principle is one of the earlier and main results in fixed point theory. Banach contraction principle which guarantees existence and uniqueness of fixed point was proved in complete metric spaces in 1922 by Banach. According to this principle, "let ( X , d ) be a complete metric space and f : X → X be a mapping. If there exists a constant 0 ≤ k < 1 such that for all x , y ∈ X , d ( f x , f y ) ≤ k . d ( x , y ), then f has a unique fixed point". In this work, we define almost contraction in extended b-metric space and prove some fixed point theorems for mappings satisfying this type contraction.

Abstract:In this paper we present some fixed-figure theorems as a geometric approach to the fixed-point theory when the number of fixed points of a self-mapping is more than one. To do this, we modify the Jleli-Samet type contraction and define new contractions on $S_{b}$-metric spaces. Also, we give some necessary examples to show the validity of our theoretical results.
