Abstract:In this paper we extend the coupled fixed point theorems for mixed monotone operators $F:X \times X \rightarrow X$ obtained in [T.G. Bhaskar, V. Lakshmikantham, \textit{Fixed point theorems in partially ordered metric spaces and applications}, Nonlinear Anal. \textbf{65} (2006) 1379-1393] and [N.V. Luong and N.X. Thuan, \textit{Coupled fixed points in partially ordered metric spaces and application}, Nonlinear Anal. \textbf{74} (2011) 983-992], by weakening the involved contractive condition. An example as well an application to nonlinear Fredholm integral equations are also given in order to illustrate the effectiveness of our generalizations.

Abstract:The contraction condition in the Banach contraction principle forces a function to be continuous. Many authors overcome this obligation and weaken the hypotheses via metric spaces endowed with a partial order. In this paper, we present some coupled fixed point theorems for the functions having mixed monotone properties on ordered vector metric spaces, which are more general spaces than partially ordered metric spaces. We also define the double monotone property and investigate the previous results with this property. In the last section, we prove the uniqueness of a coupled fixed point for non-monotone functions. In addition, we present some illustrative examples to emphasize that our results are more general than the ones in the literature.

Abstract:In the present work, we will establish and prove some fixed point theorems for mappings that satisfy a set of conditions in controlled metric type spaces introduced by Mlaiki et al. [N. Mlaiki, H. Aydi, N. Souayah, T. Abdeljawad, Controlled metric type spaces and the related contraction principle. Mathematics 2018, 6,194]. Our technique in constructing our new contraction conditions is to insert the control function $ \theta(u, l) $ that appears on the right hand side of the triangular inequality of the definition of the controlled metric spaces in the right hand side of our proposed contraction conditions. Our results enrich the field of fixed point theory with novel findings that generalize many findings found in the literature. We provide an example to show the usefulness of our results. Also, we present an application to our results to show their significance.

Abstract:In this paper, owing to the concept of F-contraction, we define two new classes of functions M(S,T)$$M(S,T)$$ and N(S,T)$$N(S,T)$$, and we prove some new fixed point results for single-valued and multivalued mappings in complete metric spaces. Our results extend, generalize and unify several known results in the literature. We include an example to show that the generalization is proper.

(see Fixed Point Theory Appl 2012:88, 2012).

Abstract:In this paper, we extend the result of Wardowski (Fixed Point Theory Appl. 2012:94, 2012) by applying some weaker conditions on the self map of a complete metric space and on the mapping F, concerning the contractions defined by Wardowski. With these weaker conditions, we prove a fixed point result for F-Suzuki contractions which generalizes the result of Wardowski.MSC:74H10, 54H25.

Abstract:Generalized (rational) graph contractions in the framework of a dislocated metric space endowed with a directed graph are investigated. Fixed point results for set-contractions are obtained. We also provide some examples to illustrate our main results. Moreover, the well-posedness of obtained fixed point results are also shown. Our obtained results extend many results in the existing literature.

Abstract:In this paper, we introduce the concept of mixed (G, S)-monotone mappings and prove coupled coincidence and coupled common fixed point theorems for such mappings satisfying a nonlinear contraction involving altering distance functions. Presented theorems extend, improve and generalize the very recent results of Harjani, López and Sadarangani [J. Harjani, B. López and K. Sadarangani, Fixed point theorems for mixed monotone operators and applications to integral equations, Nonlinear Analysis (2010), doi:<a class="link-https link-external" data-doi="10.1016/j.na.2010.10.047" href="https://doi.org/10.1016/j.na.2010.10.047" rel="external noopener nofollow">https://doi.org/10.1016/j.na.2010.10.047</a>] and other existing results in the literature. Abstract:We introduce two new classes of single-valued contractions of polynomial type defined on a metric space. For the first one, called the class of polynomial contractions, we establish two fixed point theorems. Namely, we first consider the case when the mapping is continuous. Next, we weaken the continuity condition. In particular, we recover Banach's fixed point theorem. The second class, called the class of almost polynomial contractions, includes the class of almost contractions introduced by Berinde [Nonlinear Analysis Forum. 9(1) (2004) 43--53]. A fixed point theorem is established for almost polynomial contractions. The obtained result generalizes that derived by Berinde in the above reference. Several examples showing that our generalizations are significant, are provided.

Abstract:Fixed-point theory, which has been developing since 1922, is widely used. Various contraction principles have been defined in the literature. In this work, we define rational-type contraction and weak Choudhury type contraction using α-series in F-metric spaces and prove common fixed-point theorems for sequences of self-mappings. This method is based on the convergence series of coefficients. Our results are the generalized version of the results in the literature. Finally, we apply our main results to solve an integral equation and a differential equation.

Abstract:In this article, we introduce two multivalued contractive mappings within the framework of Hausdorff controlled metric spaces, employing concepts of admissibility and C ‐class functions. The first mapping is a (β∗,ζ) ‐generalized contractive multivalued mapping, and the second is a (β,W(ζ,ξ)) ‐multivalued mapping. We establish conditions guaranteeing the existence of fixed points for these mappings. To support our theoretical findings, we provide a numerical example, demonstrating the independence of the contractive conditions for the mappings. Furthermore, we apply our results to a specific problem in polynomial equations. These findings complement several existing results in the literature.

Abstract:This research paper investigated fixed point results for almost ($ \zeta-\theta _{\rho } $)-contractions in the context of quasi-metric spaces. The study focused on a specific class of ($ \zeta -\theta _{\rho } $)-contractions, which exhibit a more relaxed form of contractive property than classical contractions. The research not only established the existence of fixed points under the almost ($ \zeta -\theta _{\rho } $)-contraction framework but also provided sufficient conditions for the convergence of fixed point sequences. The proposed theorems and proofs contributed to the advancement of the theory of fixed points in quasi-metric spaces, shedding light on the intricate interplay between contraction-type mappings and the underlying space's quasi-metric structure. Furthermore, an application of these results was presented, highlighting the practical significance of the established theory. The application demonstrated how the theory of almost ($ \zeta -\theta _{\rho } $)-contractions in quasi-metric spaces can be utilized to solve real-world problems.

Abstract:In recent times there have been two prominent trends in metric fixed point theory. One is the use of weak contractive inequalities and the other is the use of binary relations. Combining the two trends, in this paper we establish a relation-theoretic fixed point result for a mapping which is defined on a metric space with an arbitrary binary relation and satisfies a weak contractive inequality for any pair of points whenever the pair of points is related by a given relation. The uniqueness is obtained by assuming some extra conditions. The metric space is assumed to be R -complete. We use R -continuity of functions. The property of local T-transitivity of the relation R is used in the main theorem. There is an illustrative example. An existing fixed point result is generalized through the present work. We use a method in the proof of our main theorem which is a blending of relation-theoretic and analytic approaches.
Fixed points of generalized contractions on O-metric spaces

Abstract:The class of O-metric spaces generalize several existing metric-types in literature including metric spaces, b-metric spaces, and ultra metric spaces. In this paper, we discuss the properties of the topology induced by an O-metric and establish in the setting, fixed point theorems of contractions and generalized contractions. The proofs of the theorems rely heavily on polygon O-inequalities which are a natural generalization of the triangle inequality, and the construction of which leads to the notion of O-series following a pattern of functions.
