Abstract:Since the discovery of the Higgs boson in 2012 by the ATLAS and CMS Collaborations a lot of progress has been made in verifying the nature of this new bosonic particle. Still, questions remain as to whether this new particle is the standard model (SM) Higgs boson, and whether it gives us hints of where physics beyond the SM (BSM) might be hidden. This overview tries to tackle these questions by looking at three types of analyses 1) Total cross section measurements of the various Higgs boson production and decay modes, allowing us access to the various Higgs boson couplings to SM bosons and fermions, 2) Differential Higgs boson cross section measurements such as in the STXS framework allowing for a model independent search for BSM and, finally, 3) The searches for di-Higgs production which give access to the trilinear Higgs self coupling $\lambda$ and the Higgs potential itself.

Abstract:One of the main motivations for low energy supersymmetric theories is their ability to address the hierarchy and naturalness problems in the Higgs sector of the Standard Model. In these theories, at least two doublets of scalar fields are required to break the electroweak symmetry and to generate the masses of the elementary particles, resulting in a rather rich Higgs spectrum. The search for the Higgs bosons of Supersymmetry and the determination of their basic properties is one of the major goals of high--energy colliders and, in particular, the LHC which will soon start operation. We review the salient features of the Higgs sector of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model and of some of its extensions and summarize the prospects for probing them at the LHC and at the future ILC.

Abstract:We make an updated review and a systematic and comprehensive analysis of the decays of Higgs bosons in the Standard Model (SM) and its three well-defined prototype extensions such as the complex singlet extension of the SM (cxSM), the four types of two Higgs-doublet models (2HDMs) without tree-level Higgs-mediated flavor-changing neutral current (FCNC) and the minimal supersymmetric extension of the SM (MSSM). We summarize the theoretical predictions for the decay widths of the SM Higgs boson and those of Higgs bosons appearing in its extensions taking account of all possible decay modes. We incorporate them to study and analyze decay patterns of CP-even, CP-odd, and CP-mixed neutral Higgs bosons and charged ones. We put special focus on the properties of a neutral Higgs boson with mass about 125 GeV discovered at the LHC and present constraints obtained from precision analysis of it. This review is intended to be self-contained and consolidated by coherently integrating relevant physics information for studying decays of Higgs bosons in the SM and beyond.

Abstract:In these proceedings I cover the latest results on the production and decay of the recently discovered Higgs boson. While the spin and properties of the new boson, such as its mass and couplings to bosons and fermions, are covered in a separate report, I focus on individual results in the main channels we use to study the properties of the new boson and to search for its possible cousins, with the focus on the latest results from the LHC and the Tevatron collaborations.

Abstract:We study the phenomenology of the charged Higgs boson at future muon colliders. We investigate the pair production μ+μ−→H+H− , the single production μ+μ−→W±H∓ , as well as the vector boson fusion (VBF) {e+e−,μ+μ−}→νν ̄H+H− . We show that the neutral Higgs exchange diagrams in the muon collider case can lead to a significant boost in the cross sections through their Yukawa couplings. Our results for the muon collider are systematically compared to the corresponding ones at e+e− machines. It is demonstrated that the VBF e+e−→νν ̄H+H− can compete with the mentioned 2→2 processes. We select benchmark points and perform signal-background analyses, taking into account detector simulations. The profile of the Higgs boson -- status and prospects

Abstract:The Higgs boson, which was discovered at CERN in 2012, stands out as a remarkable elementary particle with distinct characteristics. Unlike any other observed particle, it possesses zero spin within the Standard Model (SM) of particle physics. Theoretical predictions had anticipated the existence of this scalar boson, postulating its interaction with the $W$ and $Z$ bosons as well as through Yukawa interactions with fermions. Furthermore the Higgs boson can interact with itself, commonly referred to as the Higgs self-interaction. In this review, the current state of experimental and theoretical investigations of Higgs boson production at the LHC and the ongoing efforts to unravel its properties are described, and an up-to-date assessment of our understanding of the Higgs sector of the SM is provided. In addition, potential links between the Higgs boson and significant unresolved questions within the realm of particle physics are presented.

Abstract:The properties of 125 GeV new particle,which was discovered in 2012 at the Large Hadron Collider(LHC),are found to be consistent with those of the Higgs boson in the standard model(SM).Hereafter the new particle is dubbed as SM-like Higgs boson.However there is still spacious room for physics beyond the SM(BSM)due to the limited energy and luminosity of the LHC.With more data,experiments will scrutinize whether the new particle is indeed the SM one or not.At the same time,one believes that discovery of the SMlike Higgs boson is just the start of the new era of particle physics.The predominant topic is whether there are other new Higgs bosons as speculated in various BSM models.In this short review,we will describe the current status of Higgs physics at the LHC and several BSM models which contain more Higgs sectors.In literatures,there are numerous studies on extended Higgs sector and a comprehensive review is beyond the scope of this review.Instead,we will present two latest studies on Higgs physics:(1)how to detect the charged Higgs boson and measure tan b after including the top polarization information,and(2)how to discover the extra neutral Higgs boson via the pair production of SM-like Higgs boson.

Abstract:The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) has confirmed the Higgs mechanism to be responsible for generating mass in the Standard Model (SM), making it attractive to also consider spontaneous symmetry breaking as the origin of mass for new particles in a dark sector extension of the SM. Such a dark Higgs mechanism may in particular give mass to a dark matter candidate and to the gauge boson mediating its interactions (called dark photon). In this review we summarise the phenomenology of the resulting dark Higgs boson and discuss the corresponding search strategies with a focus on collider experiments. We consider both the case that the dark Higgs boson is heavier than the SM Higgs boson, in which case leading constraints come from direct searches for new Higgs bosons as well missing-energy searches at the LHC, and the case that the dark Higgs boson is (potentially much) lighter than the SM Higgs boson, such that the leading sensitivity comes from electron-positron colliders and fixed-target experiments. Of particular experimental interest for both cases is the associated production of a dark Higgs boson with a dark photon, which subsequently decays into SM fermions, dark matter particles or long-lived dark sector states. We also discuss the important role of exotic decays of the SM-like Higgs boson and complementary constraints arising from early-universe cosmology, astrophysics and direct searches for dark matter in laboratory experiments.

Abstract:This note documents predictions for the inclusive production cross sections of the Standard Model Higgs boson at the Large Hadron Collider at a centre of mass energy of 13.6 TeV. The predictions here are based on simple extrapolations of previously documented predictions published in the CERN Yellow Report "Deciphering the Nature of the Higgs Sector". The predictions documented in this note should serve as a reference while a more complete and update-to-date derivation of cross section predictions is in progress.

Abstract:We consider the production of a Standard-Model (SM) Higgs boson in gluon fusion in hadronic collisions and compute the QCD corrections up to next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO) and match them to parton showers (NNLO+PS). The complete dependence on the top-quark mass is taken into account without making any approximations to the top quark loops mediating the coupling between the gluons and the Higgs boson. To this end, we have included the $gg\to H$ amplitudes up to three loops and the $pp\to H$+jet amplitudes up to two loops in the full SM theory. This is the first fully differential calculation of the top-quark mass effects up to NNLO in QCD, and we study their impact on relevant observables for the LHC.

Abstract:We study the Drell-Yan production of heavy vector and axial-vector states of generic Higgsless models at hadron colliders. We analyse in particular the l+l-, WZ, and three SM gauge boson final states. In the l+l- case we show how present Tevatron data restricts the allowed parameter space of these models. The two and three gauge boson final states (especially WZ, WWZ, and WZZ) are particularly interesting in view of the LHC, especially for light axial-vector masses, and could shed more light on the role of spin-1 resonances in the electroweak precision tests.

Higgs production at future $e^+e^-$ colliders in the Georgi-Machacek model

Abstract:We study how the dominant single and double SM-like Higgs ($h$) production at future $e^+e^-$ colliders is modified in the Georgi-Machacek (GM) model. On imposing theoretical, indirect and direct constraints, significant deviations of $h$-couplings from their SM values are still possible; for instance, the Higgs-gauge coupling coupling can be corrected by a factor $\kappa_{hVV}\in[0.93,1.15]$ in the allowed parameter space. For the Higgs-strahlung $e^+e^-\to hZ$ and vector boson fusion processes $e^+e^-\to h\nu\bar{\nu},~he^+e^-$, the cross section could increase by $32\%$ or decrease by $13\%$. In the case of associated production with a top quark pair $e^+e^-\to ht\bar{t}$, the cross section can be enhanced up to several times when the custodial triplet scalar $H_3^0$ is resonantly produced. In the meanwhile, the double Higgs production $e^+e^-\to hhZ~(hh\nu\bar{\nu})$ can be maximally enhanced by one order of magnitude at the resonant $H_{1,3}^0$ production. We also include exclusion limits expected from future LHC runs at higher energy and luminosity and discuss their further constraints on the relevant model parameters. We find that the GM model can result in likely measurable deviations of Higgs production from the SM at future $e^+e^-$ colliders.

Higgs boson production at $μ^+ μ^+$ colliders

Abstract:We study Higgs boson production at $\mu^+ \mu^+$ colliders at high energy. Since both initial-state particles are positively charged, there is no $W$ boson fusion at the leading order, as it requires a $W^+ W^-$ pair. However, we find that the cross section of the higher-order, $\gamma$- and $Z$-mediated $W$ boson fusion process is large at high center-of-mass energies $\sqrt s$, growing as $(\log s)^3$. This is in contrast to the $\log s$ behavior of the leading-order $W$ boson fusion. Thus, even though it is a higher-order process, the rate of Higgs boson production for 10 TeV energies at $\mu^+ \mu^+$ colliders with polarized beams can be as high as about half of the one at $\mu^+ \mu^-$ colliders, assuming the same integrated luminosity. To calculate the cross section of this process accurately, we carefully treat the collinear emission of the photon in the intermediate state. The thereby obtained large cross section furthermore shows the significance of Higgs production with an extra $W$ boson in the final state also at $\mu^+ \mu^-$ and $e^+ e^-$ colliders.

Abstract:The latest results of Higgs boson searches beyond the Standard Model from the ATLAS and CMS experiments are reviewed. This includes searches for additional neutral, charged, and double charged Higgs-like bosons, searches for dark matter produced in association with a Higgs boson, and searches for new physics in Higgs boson production and decay processes. Interpretations are given within the hMSSM, a special parameterization of the Minimal Supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model, in which the mass of the lightest Higgs boson is set to the value of 125 GeV measured at the LHC.

Abstract:We consider the production of two Higgs bosons in association with a gauge boson or another Higgs boson at the hadron colliders. We compute the cross sections and distributions for the processes $ p p \to H H H $ and $H H Z$ within the standard model. In particular, we compute the gluon-gluon fusion one-loop contributions mediated via heavy quarks in the loop. It is the leading order contribution to $ p p \to H H H $ process. To the process $ p p \to H H Z $, it is next-to-next-to-leading-order (NNLO) contribution in QCD coupling. We also compare this contribution to the next-to-leading-order (NLO) QCD contribution to this process. The NNLO contribution can be similar to NLO contribution at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), and significantly more at higher center-of-mass energy machines. We also study new physics effects in these processes by considering $ttH, HHH, HHHH, HZZ$, and $HHZZ$ interactions as anomalous. The anomalous couplings can enhance the cross sections significantly. The $gg \to HHH$ process is specially sensitive to anomalous trilinear Higgs boson self-coupling. For the $gg \to HHZ$ process, there is some modest dependence on anomalous $HZZ$ couplings.
