Abstract:Abstract By using the method of iterated integral representations of series, we establish some explicit relationships between multiple zeta values and integrals of logarithmic functions. As applications of these relations, we show that multiple zeta values of the form $$\begin{array}{} \zeta ( {\bar 1,{{\left\{ 1 \right\}}_{m - 1}},\bar 1,{{\left\{ 1 \right\}}_{k - 1}}} ),\qquad (k,m\in \mathbb{N}) \end{array} $$ for m = 1 or k = 1, and $$\begin{array}{} \zeta ( {\bar 1,{{\left\{ 1 \right\}}_{m - 1}},p,{{\left\{ 1 \right\}}_{k - 1}}}),\qquad (k,m\in\mathbb{N}) \end{array} $$ for p = 1 and 2, satisfy certain recurrence relations which allow us to write them in terms of zeta values, polylogarithms and ln 2. Furthermore, we also obtain reductions for certain multiple polylogarithmic values at $\begin{array}{} \frac {1}{2} \end{array} $ .

Such relations find application in perturbative quantum field theory, quantum chemistry, analytic number theory, and elsewhere. The analysis includes the use of properties of a variety of special functions.

Abstract:Recently, we established and used the generalized Littlewood theorem concerning contour integrals of the logarithm of analytical function to obtain new criteria equivalent to the Riemann hypothesis. The same theorem was subsequently applied to calculate certain infinite sums and study the properties of zeroes of a few analytical functions. In this article, we discuss what are, in a sense, inverse applications of this theorem. We first prove a Lemma that if two meromorphic on the whole complex plane functions f(z) and g(z) have the same zeroes and poles, taking into account their orders, and have appropriate asymptotic for large |z|, then for some integer n, dnln(f(z))dzn=dnln(g(z))dzn. The use of this Lemma enables proofs of many identities between elliptic functions, their transformation and n-tuple product rules. In particular, we show how exactly for any complex number a, ℘(z)-a, where ℘(z) is the Weierstrass ℘ function, can be presented as a product and ratio of three elliptic θ1 functions of certain arguments. We also establish n-tuple rules for some elliptic theta functions.

Abstract:In this paper, we give evaluations of integrals involving the arctan and the logarithm functions, and present several new summation identities for odd harmonic numbers and Milgram constants. These summation identities can be expressed as finite sums of special constants such as $\pi$, the Catalan constant, the values of Riemann zeta function at the positive odd numbers and $\ln2$ etc.. Some examples are detailed to illustrate the theorems.

Abstract:The indefinite integral $$ \int x^\alpha e^{\eta x^\beta}\,_pF_q (a_1, a_2, \cdot\cdot\cdot a_p; b_1, b_2, \cdot\cdot\cdot, b_q; \lambda x^{\gamma})dx, $$ where $\alpha, \eta, \beta, \lambda, \gamma\ne0$ are real or complex constants and $_pF_q$ is the generalized hypergeometric function, is evaluated in terms of an infinite series involving the generalized hypergeometric function. Related integrals in which the exponential function $e^{\eta x^\beta}$ is either replaced by the hyperbolic function $\cosh\left(\eta x^\beta\right)$ or $\sinh\left(\eta x^\beta\right)$, or the sinusoidal function $\cos\left(\eta x^\beta\right)$ or $\sin\left(\eta x^\beta\right)$, are also evaluated in terms of infinite series involving the generalized hypergeometric function $_pF_q$. Some application examples from applied analysis, in which some new Fourier and Laplace integrals (or transforms) are evaluated, are given. The analytical solution of the Orr-Sommerfeld equation (with a linear mean flow background) in the short-wave limit is expressed in terms of some infinite series involving the hypergeometric series $_2F_3$. Making use of the hyperbolic and Euler identities, some interesting series identities involving exponential, hyperbolic, trigonometric functions and the generalized hypergeometric function are also derived.

Abstract:We present two integral representations of the logarithm of the Glaisher-Kinkelin constant. Both are based on a definite integral of $\ln[\Gamma(x + 1)]$, $\Gamma$ being the usual Gamma function. The first one relies on an integral representation of $\ln[\Gamma(x + 1)]$ due to Binet, and the second one results from the so-called Malmstén formula. The numerical evaluation is easier with the latter expression than with the former.

Abstract:The history of the theory of linear forms in logarithms is well known. We shall briefly sketch only some of the moments connected with new technical progress and important for our article. This theory was originated by pioneer works of A.O. Gelfond (see, for example, [5, 6]); with the help of the ideas which arose in connection with the solution of 7-th Hilbert problem (construction of auxiliary functions, extrapolation of zeros and small values), the bounds for the homogenous linear forms in two logarithms were proved. In the middle of the sixties A. Baker, [1], using auxiliary functions in several complex variables, for the first time obtained bounds for linear forms in any number of logarithms, both in the homogenous and non-homogenous cases. All further development of the theory is connected with improvements of these bounds. So N.I. Feldman introduced the so-called binomial polynomials in the construction of the auxiliary function, and due to this the dependence of the bounds on the coefficients of the linear forms was improved. The Kummer theory was used by A. Baker and H. Stark, [2], to improve the dependence of the estimates on the parameters related to the algebraic numbers appearing as arguments of the logarithms. The further improvements of this dependence are connected with the introduction of bounds for the number of zeros of polynomials on algebraic groups in works of G. Wüstholz. [14], P. Philippon and M. Waldschmidt, [11], A. Baker and G. Wüstholz, [3].

Abstract:In this paper we provide a unified approach to a family of integrals of Mellin--Barnes type using distribution theory and Fourier transforms. Interesting features arise in many of the cases which call for the application of pull-backs of distributions via smooth submersive maps defined by Hörmander. We derive by this method the integrals of Hecke and Sonine relating to various types of Bessel functions which have found applications in analytic and algebraic number theory.

We show that such integrals, involving some parameters, can be fully described in closed form represented by special functions.

Abstract:This monograph elucidates and extends many theorems and conjectures in analytic number theory and algebraic asymptotic analysis via the natural notions of degree and logexponential degree. The Riemann hypothesis, for example, is equivalent to the statement that the degree of the function $\pi(x)- \operatorname{li}(x)$ is $1/2$, where $\pi(x)$ is the prime counting function and $\operatorname{li}(x)$ is the logarithmic integral function. Part 1 of the text is a survey of analytic number theory, Part 2 introduces the notion of logexponential degree and uses it to extend results in algebraic asymptotic analysis, and Part 3 applies the results of Part 2 to the various functions that figure most prominently in analytic number theory. Central to the notion of logexponential degree are Hardy's logarithmico-exponential functions, which are real functions defined in a neighborhood of $\infty$ that can be built from $\operatorname{id}$, $\exp$, and $\log$ using the operations $+$, $\cdot$, $/$, and $\circ$. Such functions are natural benchmarks for the orders of growth of functions in analytic number theory. The main goal of Part 3 is to express the logexponential degree of various functions in analytic number theory in terms of as few "logexponential primitives" as possible. The logexponential degree of the function $e^\gamma \prod_{p\leq x}(1-1/p) -1/\log x$, for example, can be expressed in terms of that of $\pi(x)- \operatorname{li}(x)$ and vice versa (where $\gamma \approx 0.5772$ is the Euler-Mascheroni constant), despite the fact that very little is known about the logexponential degree of either function separately, even on condition of the Riemann hypothesis.

Abstract:In this study, we present a new closed form for the generalized integral $$\int_0^1 \frac{\mathrm{Li}_2(z) \ln(1+az)}{z}\, \mathrm{d}z,$$ where $a \in \mathbb{C} \setminus(-\infty, -1)$ and $\mathrm{Li}_2(z)$ is the dilogarithm function. This extension is achieved by leveraging our established findings in conjunction with Vălean's results. Furthermore, we provide explicit closed forms for associated integrals, prove a transformation formula for double infinite series, expressing them as the sum of the square of an infinite series and another infinite series. We utilize this relationship to derive a novel closed form for the generalized series $$\sum_{k=1}^\infty \frac{ \zeta\left(m, \frac{rk-s}{r}\right) }{(rk-s)^m},$$ for $\Re(m) > 1$, $r, s \in \mathbb{C}$, where $r \neq 0$, $rk \neq s$, for any positive integer $k$, and $\zeta(s, z)$ denotes the Hurwitz zeta function. Utilizing Hermite's integral representation for $\zeta(s, z)$, we derive a generalized integral series from this series.

Abstract:The study of the Dirichlet problem in the unit disk 𝔻 with arbitrary measurable data for harmonic functions is due to the famous dissertation of Luzin [31]. Later on, the known monograph of Vekua [48] has been devoted to boundary-value problems (only with Hölder continuous data) for the generalized analytic functions, i.e., continuous complex valued functions h(z) of the complex variable z = x + iy with generalized first partial derivatives by Sobolev satisfying equations of the form 𝜕zh + ah + bh¯\documentclass[12pt]{minimal}\usepackage{amsmath}\usepackage{wasysym}\usepackage{amsfonts}\usepackage{amssymb}\usepackage{amsbsy}\usepackage{mathrsfs}\usepackage{upgreek}\setlength{\oddsidemargin}{-69pt}\begin{document}$$ \overline{h} $$\end{document} = c ; where it was assumed that the complex valued functions a; b and c belong to the class Lp with some p > 2 in smooth enough domains D in ℂ.The present paper is a natural continuation of our previous articles on the Riemann, Hilbert, Dirichlet, Poincar´e and, in particular, Neumann boundary-value problems for quasiconformal, analytic, harmonic, and the so-called A−harmonic functions with boundary data that are measurable with respect to logarithmic capacity. Here, we extend the corresponding results to the generalized analytic functions h : D → ℂ with the sources g : 𝜕zh = g ∈ Lp, p > 2 , and to generalized harmonic functions U with sources G : △U = G ∈ Lp, p > 2.This paper contains various theorems on the existence of nonclassical solutions of the Riemann and Hilbert boundary-value problems with arbitrary measurable (with respect to logarithmic capacity) data for generalized analytic functions with sources. Our approach is based on the geometric (theoretic-functional) interpretation of boundary-values in comparison with the classical operator approach in PDE. On this basis, it is established the corresponding existence theorems for the Poincar´e problem on directional derivatives and, in particular, for the Neumann problem to the Poisson equations △U = G with arbitrary boundary data that are measurable with respect to logarithmic capacity. These results can be also applied to semilinear equations of mathematical physics in anisotropic and inhomogeneous media.

Abstract:Elliptic polylogarithms can be defined as iterated integrals on a genus-one Riemann surface of a set of integration kernels whose generating series was already considered by Kronecker in the 19th century. In this article, we employ the Schottky parametrization of a Riemann surface to construct higher-genus analogues of Kronecker's generating series, which we refer to as Schottky-Kronecker forms. Our explicit construction generalizes ideas from Bernard's higher-genus construction of the Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov connection. Integration kernels generated from the Schottky-Kronecker forms are defined as Poincaré series. Under technical assumptions, related to the convergence of these Poincaré series on the underlying Riemann surface, we argue that these integration kernels coincide with a set of differentials defined by Enriquez, whose iterated integrals constitute higher-genus analogues of polylogarithms. Enriquez' original definition is not well-suited for numerical evaluation of higher-genus polylogarithms. In contrast, the Poincaré series defining our integration kernels can be evaluated numerically for real hyperelliptic curves, for which the above-mentioned convergence assumptions can be verified. We numerically evaluate several examples of genus-two polylogarithms, thereby paving the way for numerical evaluation of hyperelliptic analogues of polylogarithms.

Abstract:In this article we describe the construction of logarithmic models for germs of plane singular analytic foliations, both real and complex. A logarithmic model is a germ of closed meromorphic 1-form with simple poles produced upon some specified geometric data: the structure of dicritical (non-invariant) components in the exceptional divisor of its reduction of singularities, a prescribed finite set of separatrices - invariant analytic branches at the origin - and Camacho-Sad indices with respect to these separatrices. As an application, we use logarithmic models in order to construct real and complex germs of meromorphic functions with a given indeterminacy structure and prescribed sets of zeroes and poles. Also, in the real case, logarithmic models are used in order to build germs of analytic vector fields with a given Bendixson's sectorial decomposition of a neighborhood of $0 \in \mathbb{R}^{2}$ into hyperbolic, parabolic and elliptic sectors. This is carried out in the specific case where all trajectories accumulating to the origin are contained in analytic curves. As a consequence, we can produce real meromorphic functions with a prescribed sectorial decomposition.
