Abstract:China is powerful in production and consumption of aquatic products,the quality and safety of aquatic products is directly related to consumers′ health and life,so the management of quality and safety of aquatic products is greatly important. This paper discussed the existing problems in current aquatic products quality safety such as water pollution,traditional ways.It put forward countermeasures such as improving the water environment standard,promoting of ecological friendly aquaculture mode and developping modern fishery seed industry. With science,we could promote fishery modernization level,gradually realize the commercialization of aquatic products,the brand,the stability of the quality of aquatic products,guarantee the quality and safety of aquatic products.

Trends, Transferring, and Sources of Aquatic Products Risks in China: Evidence from the Sampling Inspections by National and Provincial CFDA

Abstract:This paper maps the risks of aquatic products in different seasons, categorizes risk items, explores the transferring of risk items along the supply chain, and identifies actual risk sources of aquatic products in China, based on the data of regular sampling inspections for aquatic products conducted by national and provincial CFDA. Both descriptive analysis and crossing matrix analysis are used. Some explicit results are derived from the analyses. First, the quality and safety of aquatic products in China exhibit stable improving. Second, economically motivated adulterations by people s behaviors such as the use of drugs and chemical additives are the most important causes of risks for aquatic products. Third, risks at upstream parts transfer along the supply chain to the downstream. Fourth, the two riskiest stages causing food safety problem are manufacture and farming. Specifically, most risks for fresh aquatic products lie in farming, while those for processed products are at manufacture. However, the assignment of regulation strength and resources does not match with the distribution of risks. Stronger regulations such as the adoption of origin certificate at farms and more sampling inspections at manufacture are necessary to control for the risks of aquatic products. Problems and Countermeasures of Quality Safety of Aquatic Products Export in China

Abstract:The quality safety of aquatic products export has been greatly improved in China,but there are still some problems to be addressed due to differences in the laws,regulations,and standards with the importing countries.It was pointed out that the most important obstacle in exporting aquatic products is fishery drugs residue and microbial contamination based on the analysis of the quality safety problems.Finally,some suggestions were put forward including strengthening the technical supervision of quality safety in aquatic products export,improving the quality safety information platform,innovativeing quality safety traceability system of export aquatic products and improving quality management and detection capability,which provided references to ensure quality safety of aquatic products export.

Countermeasures and Situation of the Sino-US Aquatic Products Quality Safety

Abstract:China and the United States has built close relationship in aquatic products trade. By comparing and contrasting quality and safety of aquatic products, this article found out many problems: occasional drug residue detection, high rate of pest and pathogenic microorganism detection, imperfect laws and regulations of imported products, and the lack of close supervision. Through the analysis of the above problems, this article will provide suggestions in order to improve the quality and safety management system of our country's import and export of aquatic products The suggestions include: to perfect our laws and regulations system, standard system of import and export aquatic products,to insist on reform and innovation, and on transforming the mode of regulation, to implement enterprise's entity responsibility, to strengthen the exchanges and cooperation between China and the United States, and to strive to build a new pattern of work such as countermeasures of aquatic products of China and the United States.

Abstract:ABSTRACTChanges in water quality significantly shape fish behavior, a crucial index reflecting the growth and welfare status of fish. Given the centrality of this relationship to aquaculture practices, a comprehensive understanding of how water quality dynamics influence fish behavior is imperative. While there have been some summaries of the effects of water quality parameters on fish physiology and growth, few reviews on their effects on fish behavior have been reported yet. This article reviews several water quality parameters which are of great concern in aquaculture from multiple facets of actual production, including physical parameters (water temperature and turbidity), chemical parameters (dissolved oxygen, salinity, pH, and inorganic nitrogen), and chemical pollutants (microplastics and crude oil), which have gained increasing attention from the researchers and aquaculture practitioners over the past decades. Variations in these water quality parameters can exert profound effects on fish physiology, metabolism, internal tissues and organs, and sensory perception, which influences fish behaviors such as swimming, schooling, feeding, predation, anti‐predation, aggression, courtship, as well as adaptive and stress‐related behaviors such as exploration, avoidance response, and anxiety‐like behavior. By synthesizing the behavioral changes caused by specific water quality parameters, this review aims to provide strong support for further water quality‐related research, thereby fostering environments conducive to both fish welfare and aquaculture productivity.

Abstract:Zeolite, for its high specific surface area, powerful absorption capacity and good exchange prosperities has been widely applied to environmental protection industry and feed industry. The study and application situation of zeolite in purifying aquaculture water body and wastewater treatments were reviewed in this paper. The prospects of the researching and development of zeolite as molecular sieve to culture predominant beneficial bacteria group to improve the sediment property were put forward. Existent problems and further development directions were also pointed out.

Abstract:The generation of solids by aquaculture activities has led to many problems in animal welfare, environmental quality, water treatment effects and public health, such as gill and intestinal damage, water eutrophication, system components blockages and antibiotics transfers through the food chain to human; thus, effective solid wastes management is very important. The purpose of this review is to summarize the sources, characterization methods, harmfulness, removal technologies and reutilization of solids in aquaculture water, including (i) different sources of solids, such as uneaten feed, feces and debris; (ii) solids characterization based on the general parameters, particle size distribution and chemical composition; (iii) the toxicity and detriment of solids to cultured species, the environment, aquaculture system components and human health; (iv) Solids removal, effluents solids thickening and source control techniques for better solids management; and (v) various methods for the reutilization of aquacultural solid wastes for resource value‐adding. In addition to these five specific objectives, the merits and drawbacks of each method or technology and future research priorities are discussed. The present review provides an understanding of the role played by solids in aquaculture water and provides guidance for aquacultural solid wastes precision management, aquaculture practices and technological developments. Thus, solids management can be carried out based on this guidance to improve animal welfare and the stability of water treatment systems, reduce harm to the environment and public health, and enable the development of aquaculture in a sustainable way.

Abstract:The advantages of high pressure (HP) technology have been widely accepted by researchers in domestic and overseas in recent years. However, research and development on HP processing of aquatic products didn't attract much attention in last century as compared to that of fruit and vegetable products. Since entering the new century, more and more research work has been done focusing on HP processing of aquatic products. Literature information on HPP of aquatic products was analyzed, including pasteurization, preservation, HP freezing and thawing, shellfish shucking, compound extraction and functional modification. The significance, applications and prospect of these research achievements were introduced and discussed. The main research fields for future development on HP processing of aquatic products were explored and presented.

Affected by food quality and safety incidents in recent years, residents have a skeptical attitude towards the quality and safety of aquatic products. Therefore, the study on the aquatic product quality and safety is becoming more and more important. Dalian is a coastal city, and the quatic products are the main foods. Based on the five aspects of the circulation of aquatic products in Dalian, such as the source of circulation, processing, transportation, wholesale and retail, this paper analyzes the causes of the problems and analyzes the factors affecting the quality and safety of aquatic products in Dalian city by analytic hierarchy process (AHP). The weight of each influencing factor is determined, and the main factors in each criterion layer are analyzed. These factors include water environment pollution, cold chain logistics technology factors, government supervision strength factors and circulation subject quality and safety awareness factors.

Abstract:The aquatic products processing industry is becoming one of three pillar industries in China's fish culture industry (the other being fishing and aquaculture) and has been paid more attention. An integrated system, which involves many kinds of aquatic products processing, has been established in the current industry. More and more companies have introduced advanced equipment and standardized management to improve the technology of processing and product quality. However, there are some problems in the development of the aquatic processing industry, such as lack of scientific industrial standards, smaller proportion of refined processed aquatic products, low level of techniques in offal processing, security problems and weak industrial organization. In the present manuscript, these problems of the Chinese aquatic processing industry will be expounded in detail. Furthermore, the challenges and outlook will also be discussed.

Abstract:Aquaculture is an important part of agricultural economy. In the past, major farming accidents often occurred due to subjective experience. There are many factors affecting the water quality of aquaculture. Maintaining an ecological environment with good water quality is the most critical link to ensure the production efficiency and quality of aquaculture. With the continuous development of science and technology, intelligence and informatization in aquaculture has become a new trend. Smart aquaculture cannot only realize real-time monitoring, prediction, warning, and risk control of the physical and chemical factors of the aquaculture environment but can also conduct real-time monitoring of the characteristics and behaviors of the fish, which infers the changes of the aquaculture ecological environment. In this paper, the research achievements over past two decades both are summarized from four aspects: water quality factor acquisition and pre-processing, water quality factor prediction, morphological characteristics, and behavioral characteristic recognition of fish and the mechanism between fish behavior and water quality factors. The advantages and disadvantages of existing research routes, algorithm models, and research methods in smart aquaculture are summarized. The work in this paper can provide a well-organized and summative knowledge reference for further study on the dynamic mechanism between the changes of water quality factors and the fish body characteristics and behavior. Meanwhile, the work can also provide valuable reference for promoting the smart, ecological, and efficient development of aquaculture.

Abstract:Abstract Water is a vital resource essential to the survival and development of all creatures. With the rapid growth of industry and agriculture, people face a severe threat of ecological destruction and environmental pollution while living earthly lives. Water pollution, in particular, harms people’s health the most. As a result, water supply security has become a top priority. As a critical point in water supply safety, monitoring water quality effectively and forecasting sudden water contamination on time has become a research hotspot worldwide. With the rapid development and wide applications of artificial intelligence and computer vision technologies, biological activity identification-based intelligent water quality monitoring methods have drawn widespread attention. They were taking fish activities as the water-quality indicator has gained extensive attention by introducing advanced computer vision and artificial intelligence technologies with low cost and ease of carrying. This article comprehensively reviews recent progress in the research and applications of machine vision-based intelligent water quality monitoring and early warning techniques based on fish activity behavior recognition. In detail, it addresses water quality-oriented fish detection and tracking, activity recognition, and abnormal behavior recognition-based intelligent water quality monitoring. It analyzes and compares the performance and their favorite application conditions. Finally, it summarizes and discusses the difficulties and hotspots of water quality monitoring based on the fish’s abnormal behavior recognition and their future development trends.

Comprehensive Reviews in Food Science and Food Safety

Abstract:This review summarizes (1) the U.S. status quo for aquatic food animal production and marketing; (2) major food safety and quality issues/concerns for aquatic food animals in the United States, including fish misbranding, finfish/shellfish allergies, pathogens, toxins and harmful residues, microplastics, and genetically engineered salmon; and (3) various U.S. regulations, guidances, and detection methods for the surveillance of fishery products. Overall, fish misbranding is the biggest challenge in the United States due to the relatively low inspection rate. In addition, due to the regulatory differences among countries, illegal animal drugs and/or pesticide residues might also be identified in imported aquatic food animals. Future regulatory and research directions could focus on further strengthening international cooperation, enhancing aquatic food animal inspection, and developing reliable, sensitive, and highly efficient detection methods.

Abstract:This article take the demand point of view, pointing out that the aquatic products owns many advantages, such as higher nutritional value and higher health standards, the manufacture are more economically feasible and have good ecological effects.Because of restrictions factors including income levels, transport and market conditions and consuming habits, the consumption level of aquatic products in China is relatively low.There exists a significant difference between urban and rural areas, and other regions.Narrow the income gap between urban and rural areas to improve the conditions of transport facilities and logistics, and guide people to change consumption habits is the effective way to improve the aquatic products consumption.

Abstract:China is rich in aquatic resources and the aquatic processing industry is developing rapidly, and the market potential of products produced using various aquatic raw materials is huge. The socio-economic development and the improvement of people's consumption level have put forward higher requirements for aquatic products, which further promote the technological innovation of related processing. The article classifies aquatic products into six categories: fish, shellfish, algae, crustaceans, echinoderms and cephalopods, and introduces the technological innovations and applications in freezing and preservation, sterilization, and by-product utilization in recent years, respectively, to provide reference for the continued development of aquatic products processing industry in the future.
