Abstract:We prove a version of Gabriel's theorem for (possibly infinite dimensional) representations of infinite quivers. More precisely, we show that the representation theory of quiver $\Omega$ is of unique type (each dimension vector has at most one associated indecomposable) and infinite Krull-Schmidt (every, possibly infinite dimensional, representation is a direct sum of indecomposables) if and only if $\Omega$ is eventually outward and of generalized ADE Dynkin type ($A_n$, $D_n$, $E_6$, $E_7$, $E_8$, $A_\infty$, $A_{\infty, \infty}$, or $D_\infty$). Furthermore we define an analog of the Euler-Tits form on the space of eventually constant infinite roots and show that a quiver is of generalized ADE Dynkin type if and only if this form is positive definite. In this case the indecomposables are all locally finite-dimensional and eventually constant and correspond bijectively to the positive roots (i.e. those of length $1$).

Abstract:Gabriel's Theorem states that the quivers which have finitely many isomorphism classes of indecomposable representations are exactly those with underlying graph one of the ADE Dynkin diagrams and that the indecomposables are in bijection with the positive roots of this graph. When the underlying graph is , these indecomposable representations are thin (either 0 or 1 dimensional at every vertex) and in bijection with the connected subquivers. Using linear algebraic methods we show that every (possibly infinite-dimensional) representation of a quiver with underlying graph is infinite Krull-Schmidt, i.e. a direct sum of indecomposables, as long as the arrows in the quiver eventually point outward. We furthermore prove that these indecomposable are again thin and in bijection with both the connected subquivers and the limits of the positive roots of with respect to a certain uniform topology on the root space. Finally we give an example of an quiver which is not infinite Krull-Schmidt and hence necessarily is not eventually-outward.

Abstract:We prove a version of Gabriel's theorem for locally finite-dimensional representations of infinite quivers. Specifically, we show that if $\Omega$ is any connected quiver, the category of locally finite-dimensional representations of $\Omega$ has unique representation type (meaning no two indecomposable representations have the same dimension vector) if and only if the underlying graph of $\Omega$ is a generalized ADE Dynkin diagram (i.e. one of $A_n, D_n, E_6, E_7, E_8, A_{\infty}, A_{\infty , \infty}$ or $D_\infty$). This result is companion to earlier work of the authors generalizing Gabriel's theorem to infinite quivers with different conditions.

Abstract:For Dynkin and Euclidean quivers, it is shown that Gabriel-Roiter measures of thin representations equal the induced chain length functions on the corresponding system of subquivers. This allows a combinatorial procedure to find a GR filtration of thin representations, showing that GR measures of thin representations are field-independent. It is proved that an indecomposable filtration of a thin representation is a GR filtration for a suitable choice of a length function on the category of finite-dimensional representations.

Abstract:A GR-segment for an artin algebra is a sequence of Gabriel-Roiter measures, which is closed under direct predecessors and successors. The number of the GR-segments indexed by natural numbers $\mathbb{N}$ and integers $\mathbb{Z}$ probably relates to the representation types of artin algebras. Let $k$ be an algebraically closed field and $Q$ be a tame quiver (of type $\widetilde{\mathbb{A}}_n$, $\widetilde{\mathbb{D}}_n$, $\widetilde{\mathbb{E}}_6$, $\widetilde{\mathbb{E}}_7$, or $\widetilde{\mathbb{E}}_8$). Let $b$ be the number of the isomorphism classes of the exceptional quasi-simple modules over the path algebra $\Lambda=kQ$. We show that the number of the $\mathbb{N}$- and $\mathbb{Z}$-indexed GR-segments in the central part for $Q$ is bounded by $b+1$. Therefore, there are at most $b+3$ GR segments.

Abstract:Let $k$ be an algebraically closed field. The generalized or $n$-Kronecker quiver $K(n)$ is the quiver with two vertices, called a source and a sink, and $n$ arrows from source to sink. Given a finite-dimensional module $M$ of the path algebra $kK(n)=\mathcal{K}_n$, we consider its dimension vector $\underline{dim} M=(\dim_k M_1, \dim_k M_2)$. Let $\mathbf{F}=\{(x,y)\mid \frac{2}{n}x\leq y\leq x\}$, and let $(x,y)\in\mathbf{F}$. We construct a module $X(x,y)$ of $\mathcal{K}_n$, and we prove it to be elementary. Suppose that $\underline{dim} M=(x,y)$. We show that: if $M$ is an elementary module, then $x<2n$, and when $x+y=n+1$, the module $M$ is elementary if and only if $M$ is of the form $X(x,y)$.

Abstract:Let Q̃ (resp. Q) be an extended exchange (resp. exchange) cluster quiver of finite mutation type. We introduce the distribution set of the numbers of arrows for Mut[Q̃] (resp. Mut[Q]), give the maximum and minimum numbers of the distribution set and establish the existence of an extended complete walk (resp. a complete walk). As a consequence, we prove that the distribution set for Mut[Q̃] (resp. Mut[Q]) is continuous except in the case of exceptional cluster algebras. In case of cluster quivers Q_inf of infinite mutation type, the distribution set for Mut[Q_inf] in general is not continuous. Besides, we show that the maximal number of arrows of quivers in Mut[Q_inf] is infinite if and only if the maximal number of arrows between any two vertices of a quiver in Mut[Q_inf] is infinite.

Abstract:Dumortier and Roussarie proposed a conjecture in their paper (2009, Discrete Con. Dyn. Sys., 2,723-781): For any \begin{document}$ q\in {\mathbb{N}} $\end{document} , the Abelian integrals \begin{document}$ J_{2j+1}(h) = \int_{\gamma_h}x^{2j-1}\,\mathrm dy $\end{document} , \begin{document}$ j = 0, 1, 2, \cdots, q $\end{document} , form a strict Chebyshev system on intervals \begin{document}$ h\in (0, \frac{1}{2}] $\end{document} , where \begin{document}$ \gamma_h = \{(x, y)| \mathrm e^{-2y}(y+\frac{1}{2}-x^2) = h\} $\end{document} . If this conjecture holds, then they obtain the precise upper bound of the number of limit cycles that appear near a slow-fast Hopf point of any codimension. In the present paper we develop a method to estimate the number of zeros of Abelian integrals and prove this conjecture.

Abstract:This paper introduces two operations in quiver gauge theories. The first operation takes a quiver with a permutation symmetry $S_n$ and gives a quiver with adjoint loops. The corresponding 3d $\mathcal{N}=4$ Coulomb branches are related by an orbifold of $S_n$. The second operation takes a quiver with $n$ nodes connected by edges of multiplicity $k$ and replaces them by $n$ nodes of multiplicity $qk$. The corresponding Coulomb branch moduli spaces are related by an orbifold of type $\mathbb{Z}_q^{n-1}$. The first operation generalises known cases that appeared in the literature. These two operations can be combined to generate new relations between moduli spaces that are constructed using the magnetic construction.

Abstract:In the present paper, we introduce the generic extension graph G of a Dynkin or cyclic quiver Q and then compare this graph with the crystal graph C for the quantized enveloping algebra associated to Q via two maps ℘Q, Q : Ω → ΛQ induced by generic extensions and Kashiwara operators, respectively, where ΛQ is the set of isoclasses of nilpotent representations of Q, and Ω is the set of all words on the alphabet I, the vertex set of Q. We prove that, if Q is a (finite or infinite) linear quiver, then the intersection of the fibres ℘Q−1 (λ) and KQ−1 (λ) is non-empty for every λ ∈ Λ Q. We will also show that this non-emptyness property fails for cyclic quivers.

Abstract:Let $C$ be an integral projective nodal curve over $\mathbb C$, of arithmetic genus $g \geqslant 2$. Let $E$ be a vector bundle on $C$ of rank $r$ and degree $e$. Let $\textrm{Quot}_{C/\mathbb C}(E,k,d)$ denote the Quot scheme of quotients of $E$ of rank $k$ and degree $d$. We show that $\textrm{Quot}_{C/\mathbb C}(E,k,d)$ is irreducible for $d \gg 0$.

A geometric realization for maximal almost pre-rigid representations over type $\mathbb{D}$ quivers

Abstract:We focus on a class of special representations over a type $\mathbb{D}$ quiver $Q_{D}$ with $n$ vertices and directional symmetry, namely, maximal almost pre-rigid representations. By using the equivariant theory of group actions, we give a geometric model for the category of finite dimensional representations over $Q_{D}$ via centrally-symmetric polygon $P(Q_{D})$ with a puncture, and show that the dimension of extension group between indecomposable representations can be interpreted as the crossing number on $P(Q_{D})$. Furthermore, we provide a geometric realization for maximal almost pre-rigid representations over $Q_{D}$. As applications, we prove that each maximal almost pre-rigid representation will determine two or four tilting objects over the path algebra $\Bbbk Q_{\overline{D}}$, where $Q_{\overline{D}}$ is a quiver obtained by adding $n-2$ new vertices and $n-2$ arrows to the quiver $Q_{D}$, and we obtain a representation-theoretic interpretation of the type-$\mathbb{B}$ Cambrian lattices.

Abstract:We develop the diagrammatic technique of quiver subtraction to facilitate the identification and evaluation of the $\mathrm{SU}(n)$ hyper-Kähler quotient (HKQ) of the Coulomb branch of a $3d$ $\mathcal{N}=4$ unitary quiver theory. The target quivers are drawn from a wide range of theories, typically classified as ''good'' or ''ugly'', which satisfy identified selection criteria. Our subtraction procedure uses quotient quivers that are ''bad'', differing thereby from quiver subtractions based on Kraft-Procesi transitions. The procedure identifies one or more resultant quivers, the union of whose Coulomb branches corresponds to the desired HKQ. Examples include quivers whose Coulomb branches are moduli spaces of free fields, closures of nilpotent orbits of classical and exceptional type, and slices in the affine Grassmanian. We calculate the Hilbert Series and Highest Weight Generating functions for HKQ examples of low rank. For certain families of quivers, we are able to conjecture HWGs for arbitrary rank. We examine the commutation relations between quotient quiver subtraction and other diagrammatic techniques, such as Kraft-Procesi transitions, quiver folding, and discrete quotients.

Abstract:We apply the notion of hyperfinite families of modules to the wild path algebras of generalised Kronecker quivers $k\Theta(d)$. While the preprojective and postinjective component are hyperfinite, we show the existence of a family of non-hyperfinite modules in the regular component for some $d$. Making use of dimension expanders to achieve this, our construction is more explicit than previous results. From this it follows that no finitely controlled wild algebra is of amenable representation type.

Abstract:For any quiver $Q$ and dimension vector $v$, Le Bruyn--Procesi proved that the invariant ring for the action of the change of basis group on the space of representations $\textrm{Rep}(Q,v)$ is generated by the traces of matrix products associated to cycles in the quiver. We generalise this to allow for vertices where the group acts trivially, and we give relations between the generators of the invariant algebra for quivers with relations. As a geometric application, we prove for $n\geq 1$ that the Hilbert scheme of $n$-points on an ADE surface singularity is isomorphic to a Nakajima quiver variety. This allows us to generalise the well known theorem of [Fogarty] by showing that the Hilbert scheme of $n$-points on a normal surface with canonical singularities is a normal variety of dimension $2n$ with canonical singularities. In addition, we show that if $S$ has symplecic singularities over $\mathbb{C}$, then so does the Hilbert scheme of $n$-points on $S$, thereby generalising a result of Beauville.

An extended generalization of RSK via the combinatorics of type $A$ quiver representations

Abstract:The classical Robinson--Schensted--Knuth correspondence is a bijection from nonnegative integer matrices to pairs of semi-standard Young tableaux. Based on the work of, among others, Burge, Hillman, Grassl, Knuth and Gansner, it is known that a version of this correspondence gives, for any nonzero integer partition $\lambda$, a bijection from arbitrary fillings of $\lambda$ to reverse plane partitions of shape $\lambda$, via Greene--Kleitman invariants. By bringing out the combinatorial aspects of our recent results on quiver representations, we construct a family of bijections from fillings of $\lambda$ to reverse plane partitions of shape $\lambda$ parametrized by a choice of Coxeter element in a suitable symmetric group. We recover the above version of the Robinson--Schensted--Knuth correspondence for a particular choice of Coxeter element depending on $\lambda$.

Abstract:A quiver representation assigns a vector space to each vertex, and a linear map to each arrow. When one considers the category $\textrm{Vect}(\mathbb{F}_1)$ of vector spaces ``over $\mathbb{F}_1$'' (the field with one element), one obtains $\mathbb{F}_1$-representations of a quiver. In this paper, we study representations of a quiver over the field with one element in connection to coefficient quivers. To be precise, we prove that the category $\textrm{Rep}(Q,\mathbb{F}_1)$ is equivalent to the (suitably defined) category of coefficient quivers over $Q$. This provides a conceptual way to see Euler characteristics of a class of quiver Grassmannians as the number of ``$\mathbb{F}_1$-rational points'' of quiver Grassmannians. We generalize techniques originally developed for string and band modules to compute the Euler characteristics of quiver Grassmannians associated to $\mathbb{F}_1$-representations. These techniques apply to a large class of $\mathbb{F}_1$-representations, which we call the $\mathbb{F}_1$-representations with finite nice length: we prove sufficient conditions for an $\mathbb{F}_1$-representation to have finite nice length, and classify such representations for certain families of quivers. Finally, we explore the Hall algebras associated to $\mathbb{F}_1$-representations of quivers. We answer the question of how a change in orientation affects the Hall algebra of nilpotent $\mathbb{F}_1$-representations of a quiver with bounded representation type. We also discuss Hall algebras associated to representations with finite nice length, and compute them for certain families of quivers.

Variations of the bridge quiver for domestic string algebras

Abstract:In the computation of some representation-theoretic numerical invariants of domestic string algebras, a finite combinatorial gadget introduced by Schröer--the \emph{bridge quiver} whose vertices are (representatives of cyclic permutations of) bands and whose arrows are certain band-free strings--has been used extensively. There is a natural but ill-behaved partial binary operation, $\circ$, on the larger set of \emph{weak bridges} such that bridges are precisely the $\circ$-irreducibles. With the goal of computing hammocks up to isomorphism in a later work we equip an even larger set of \emph{weak arch bridges} with another partial binary operation, $\circ_H$, to obtain a finite category. Each weak arch bridge admits a unique $\circ_H$-factorization into \emph{arch bridges}, i.e., the $\circ_H$-irreducibles.

Abstract:Let $r \in \mathbb{N}_{\geq 3}$. We denote by $K_r$ the wild $r$-Kronecker quiver with $r$ arrows $\gamma_i \colon 1 \to 2$ and consider the action of the group $G_r \subseteq \mathrm{Aut}(\mathbb{Z}^2)$ generated by $\delta \colon \mathbb{Z}\to \mathbb{Z}, (x,y) \mapsto (y,x)$ and $\sigma_{r} \colon \mathbb{Z} \to \mathbb{Z}, (x,y) \mapsto (rx-y,x)$ on the set of regular dimension vectors \[\mathcal{R} = \{ (x,y) \in \mathbb{N}^2 \mid x^2 + y^2 - rxy < 1\}.\] A fundamental domain of this action is given by $\mathcal{F}_r := \{ (x,y) \in \mathbb{N}^2 \mid \frac{2}{r} x \leq y \leq x \}$. We show that $(x,y) \in \mathcal{F}_r$ is the dimension vector of an elementary representation if and only if \[y \leq \min \{ \lfloor \frac{x}{r} \rfloor+\frac{x}{\lfloor \frac{x}{r} \rfloor} - r, \lceil \frac{x}{r} \rceil -\frac{x}{\lceil \frac{x}{r} \rceil} +r,r-1\},\] where we interpret $\lfloor \frac{x}{r} \rfloor+\frac{x}{\lfloor \frac{x}{r} \rfloor} - r$ as $\infty$ for $1 \leq x < r$. In this case we also identify the set of elementary representations as a dense open subset of the irreducible variety of representations with dimension vector $(x,y)$. A complete combinatorial description of elementary representations for $r = 3$ has been given by Ringel. We show that such a compact description is out of reach when we consider $r \geq 4$, altough the representation theory of $K_3$ is as difficult as the representation theory of $K_r$ for $r \geq 4$.
