Abstract:New conjectures are proposed on the numbers of FPL configurations pertaining to certain types of link patterns. Making use of the Razumov and Stroganov Ansatz, these conjectures are based on the analysis of the ground state of the Temperley-Lieb chain, for periodic boundary conditions and so-called "identified connectivities", up to size $2n=22$.

Abstract:We outline a proof of a remarkable conjecture of Labastida-Mari{\~n}o-Ooguri-Vafa about certain new algebraic structures of quantum link invariants and the integrality of infinite family of new topological invariants. Our method is based on the cut-and-join analysis and a special rational ring characterizing the structure of the Chern-Simons partition function.

Abstract:This article proves a conjecture by Zuber about the enumeration of fully packed loops (FPLs). The conjecture states that the number of FPLs whose link pattern consists of two noncrossing matchings which are separated by $m$ nested arches is a polynomial function in $m$ of certain degree and with certain leading coefficient. Contrary to the approach of Caselli, Krattenthaler, Lass and Nadeau (who proved a partial result) we make use of the theory of wheel polynomials developed by Di Francesco, Fonseca and Zinn-Justin. We present a new basis for the vector space of wheel polynomials and a polynomiality theorem in a more general setting. This allows us to finish the proof of Zubers conjecture.

Fully packed loop models on finite geometries

Abstract:Fully packed loop models describe the statistics of closely packed nested polygons on the square lattice. Many exact results can be obtained for these models, even for finite geometries, using their close relationship to alternating-sign matrices and the solvable six-vertex and O(n=1) lattice models. Some results for the exact partition function of fully packed loop models on various finite geometries are briefly reviewed, as well as the well-known order-disorder bulk phase transition present in these models. A detailed study is presented of the distribution of boundary nests of polygons in fully packed loop models with mirror or rotational symmetry. The probability distribution function of such nests, as well as the average number of nests, are obtained analytically, albeit conjecturally. It is further shown that fully packed loop models undergo another phase transition as a function of the boundary nest fugacity. At criticality, we derive a scaling form for the nest distribution function which displays an unusual non-Gaussian cubic exponential behaviour.

Abstract:In this paper we observe that isomorphism classes of certain metrized vector bundles over P^1-{0,infinity} can be parameterized by arithmetic quotients of loop groups. We construct an asymptotic version of theta functions, which are defined on these quotients. Then we prove the convergence and extend the theta functions to loop symplectic groups. We interpret them as sections of line bundles over an infinite dimensional torus, discuss the relations with loop Heisenberg groups, and give an asymptotic multiplication formula.

Abstract:Inspired by the recent work of Nima Arkani Hamed and collaborators who introduced the notion of positive geometry to account for the structure of tree-level scattering amplitudes in bi-adjoint theory, which led to one-loop descriptions of the integrands. Here, we consider the one-loop integrals themselves in theory. In order to achieve this end, the geometrical construction offered by Schnetz for Feynman diagrams is hereby extended, and the results are presented. The extension relies on masking the loop momentum variable with a constant and proceeding with the calculations. The results appear as a construction given in a diagrammatic manner. The significance of the resulting triangular diagrams is that they have a common side amongst themselves for the corresponding Feynman diagrams they pertain to. Further extensions to this mathematical construction can lead to additional insights into higher loops. A mathematica code has been provided in order to generate the final results given the initial parameters of the theory.

Loops of Loops Expansion in the Amplituhedron

Abstract:We study a novel geometric expansion for scattering amplitudes in the planar sector of N=4 super Yang-Mills theory, in the context of the Amplituhedron which reproduces the all-loop integrand as a canonical differential form on the positive geometry. In a paper by Arkani-Hamed, Henn and one of the authors, it was shown that this result can be recast in terms of negative geometries with a certain hierarchy of loops (closed cycles) in the space of loop momenta, represented by lines in momentum twistor space. One can then calculate an all-loop order result in the approximation where only tree graphs in the space of all loops are considered. Furthermore, using differential equation methods, it is possible to calculate and resum integrated expressions and obtain strong coupling results. In this paper, we provide a more general framework for the loops of loops expansion and outline a powerful method for the determination of differential forms for higher-order geometries. We solve the problem completely for graphs with one internal cycle, but the method can be used more generally for other geometries.

Abstract:We conjecture an evaluation of three-partition cyclic Hodge integrals in terms of loop Schur functions. Our formula implies the orbifold Gromov–Witten/Donaldson–Thomas correspondence for toric Calabi–Yau threefolds with transverse An singularities. We prove the formula in the case where one of the partitions is empty, and thus establish the orbifold Gromov–Witten/Donaldson–Thomas correspondence for local toric surfaces with transverse An singularities.

Abstract:A surprising connection has recently been made between the amplitudes for Tr($\Phi^3$) theory and the non-linear sigma model (NLSM). A simple shift of kinematic variables naturally suggested by the associahedron/stringy representation of Tr$(\Phi^3$) theory yields pion amplitudes at all loops. In this note we provide an elementary motivation and proof for this link going in the opposite direction, starting from the non-linear sigma model and discovering its formulation as a sum over triangulations of surfaces with simple numerator factors. This uses an ancient connection between "circles" and "triangles", interpreting the equation $y = \sqrt{1 - x^2}$ both as parametrizing points on a circle as well as generating the number of triangulations of polygons. A further simplification of the numerator factors exposes them as arising from the kinematically shifted Tr($\Phi^3$) theory, and gives rise to novel tropical representations of NLSM amplitudes. The connection to Tr$(\Phi^3)$ theory defines a natural notion of "surface-soft limit" intrinsic to curves on surfaces. Remarkably, with this definition, the soft limit of pion amplitudes vanishes directly at the level of the integrand, via obvious pairwise cancellations. We also give simple, explicit expressions for the multi-soft factors for tree and loop-level integrands in the limit as any number of pions are taken "surface-soft".

Abstract:Scannell and Sinha considered a spectral sequence to calculate the rational homotopy groups of spaces of long knots in n-dimensional Euclidean space, for n greater than or equal to 4. At the end of their paper they conjecture that when n is odd, the terms on the antidiagonal on the second page precisely give the space of primitive Feynman diagrams related to the theory of Vassiliev invariants. In this paper we prove that conjecture. This has the application that the path components of the terms of the Taylor tower for the space of classical long knots are in one-to-one correspondence with quotients of the module of Feynman diagrams, even though the Taylor tower does not actually converge. This provides strong evidence that the stages of the Taylor tower give rise to universal Vassiliev knot invariants in each degree.

Abstract:The well-known Loday-Quillen-Tsygan theorem calculates the Lie algebra homology of the infinite general linear Lie algebra $\mathfrak{gl}(A)$ over an unital associative algebra $A$. We generalize the Loday-Quillen-Tsygan theorem to an infinite Lie algebra associated with a (framed) quiver, where we assign to each vertex $v$ an infinite general linear Lie algebra $\mathfrak{gl}(A_v)$, to each edge $e$ an infinite matrix module and to each framed vertex a (anti)-fundamental representation. Given this data, each loop or path ending on framed vertices of the quiver defined a stratified factorization algebra over $S^1$ or $[0,1]$ respectively. We show that the corresponding Lie algebra homology can be expressed as summing the factorization homology over all loops and framed paths of the quiver.

$Φ^p$ Amplitudes from the Positive Tropical Grassmannian: Triangulations of Extended Diagrams

Abstract:The global Schwinger formula, introduced by Cachazo and Early as a single integral over the positive tropical Grassmannian, provides a way to uncover properties of scattering amplitudes which are hard to see in their standard Feynman diagram formulation. In a recent work, Cachazo and one of the authors extended the global Schwinger formula to general $\phi^p$ theories. When $p=4$, it was conjectured that the integral decomposes as a sum over cones which are in bijection with non-crossing chord diagrams, and further that these can be obtained by finding the zeroes of a piece-wise linear function, $H(x)$. In this note we give a proof of this conjecture. We also present a purely combinatorial way of computing $\phi^p$ amplitudes by triangulating a trivial extended version of non-crossing $(p-2)$-chord diagrams, called extended diagrams, and present a proof of the bijection between triangulated extended diagrams and Feynman diagrams when $p=4$. This is reminiscent of recent constructions using Stokes polytopes and accordiohedra. However, the $\phi^p$ amplitude is now partitioned by a new collection of objects, each of which characterizes a polyhedral cone in the positive tropical Grassmannian in the form of an associahedron or of an intersection of two associahedra. Moreover, we comment on the bijection between extended diagrams and double-ordered biadjoint scalar amplitudes. We also conjecture the form of the general piece-wise linear function, $H^{\phi^p}(x)$, whose zeroes generate the regions in which the $\phi^p$ global Schwinger formula decomposes into.

The Three-Point Form Factor of $\textrm{Tr}\,ϕ^3$ to Six Loops

Abstract:We study the three-point form factor of the length-three half-BPS operator ($\textrm{Tr}\,\phi^3$) in planar $\mathcal{N}=4$ Super-Yang-Mills theory, using analyticity and integrability methods. We find that the functions describing the form factor in perturbation theory live in the same restrictive space of multiple polylogarithms as the one describing the form factor of the stress-tensor operator ($\textrm{Tr}\,\phi^2$). Furthermore, we find that the leading-order data in the collinear limit provided by the form factor operator product expansion (FFOPE) is enough to fix the form factor uniquely, at least through six loops. We perform various tests of our results using the subleading FFOPE corrections. We also analyze the form factor in the Regge limit where two Mandelstam invariants are large; we obtain a compact representation for the form factor in this limit which is valid to all orders in the coupling.

Enumeration of alternating sign triangles using a constant term approach

Abstract:Alternating sign triangles (ASTs) have recently been introduced by Ayyer, Behrend and the author, and it was proven that there is the same number of ASTs with n rows as there is of nxn alternating sign matrices (ASMs). We prove a conjecture by Behrend on a refined enumeration of ASTs with respect to a statistic that is shown to have the same distribution as the column of the unique 1 in the top row of an ASM. The proof of the conjecture is based on a certain multivariate generating function of ASTs that takes the positions of the columns with sum 1 (1-columns) into account. We also prove a curious identity on the cyclic rotation of the 1-columns of ASTs. Furthermore, we discuss a relation of our multivariate generating function to a formula of Di Francesco and Zinn-Justin for the number of fully packed loop configurations associated with a given link pattern. The proofs of our results employ the author's operator formula for the number of monotone triangles with prescribed bottom row. This is opposed to the six-vertex model approach that was used by Ayyer, Behrend and the author to enumerate ASTs, and since the refined enumeration implies the unrefined enumeration, the present paper also provides an alternative proof of the enumeration of ASTs.

A Triangulation of the Flow Polytope of the Zigzag Graph

Abstract:We show that the dual graph of the triangulation of the flow polytope of the zigzag graph adorned with the length-reverse-length framing is a subgraph of a grid graph. Through Mészáros, Morales, and Striker's bijection between simplices of the triangulation, integer flows of a different, supplemental flow polytope, we provide a simple numerical characterization of the adjacency between the triangulation's simplices in terms of their corresponding integer flows. The proofs result from the development of Postnikov and Stanley's sequences of noncrossing bipartite trees as combinatorial objects we call groves. We propose two new statistics derived from this construction that we conjecture recover the $h^*$-polynomial of the flow polytope of the zigzag graph.

The rigidity of Doyle circle packings on the infinite hexagonal triangulation

Abstract:Peter Doyle conjectured that locally univalent circle packings on the hexagonal lattice only consist of regular hexagonal packings and Doyle spirals, which is called the Doyle conjecture. In this paper, we prove a rigidity theorem for Doyle spirals in the class of infinite circle packings on the hexagonal lattice whose radii ratios of adjacent circles have a uniform bound. This gives a partial answer to the Doyle conjecture. Based on a new observation that the logarithmic of the radii ratio of adjacent circles is a weighted discrete harmonic function, we prove the result via the Liouville theorem of discrete harmonic functions.

Abstract:Quantum loop and dimer models are prototypical correlated systems with local constraints, which are not only intimately connected to lattice gauge theories and topological orders but are also widely applicable to the broad research areas of quantum materials and quantum simulation. Employing our sweeping cluster quantum Monte Carlo algorithm, we reveal the complete phase diagram of the triangular-lattice fully packed quantum loop model. Apart from the known lattice nematic (LN) solid and the even $\mathbb{Z}_2$ quantum spin liquid (QSL) phases, we discover a hidden vison plaquette (VP) phase, which had been overlooked and misinterpreted as a QSL for more than a decade. Moreover, the VP-to-QSL continuous transition belongs to the $(2+1)$D cubic* universality class, which offers a lattice realization of the (fractionalized) cubic fixed point that had long been considered as irrelevant towards the O($3$) symmetry until corrected recently by conformal bootstrap calculations. Our results are therefore of relevance to recent developments in both experiments and theory, and facilitate further investigations of hidden phases and transitions.
