Abstract:In this document we consider a way of localizing an MV-algebra. Given any prime filter $F$ we find a local MV-algebra which has the same poset of prime filters as the poset of prime filters comparable to $F$.

Abstract:In this paper we study the set of MV-algebras with given prime spectrum and we introduce the class of spectral MV-algebras. An MV-algebra is spectral if it is generated by the union of all its prime ideals (or proper ideals, or principal ideals, or maximal ideals). Among spectral MV-algebras, special attention is devoted to bipartite MV-algebras. An MV-algebra is bipartite if it admits an homomorphism onto the MV-algebra of two elements. We prove that both bipartite MV-algebras and spectral MV-algebras can be finitely axiomatized in first order logic. We also prove that there is only, up to isomorphism, a set of MV-algebras with given prime spectrum. A further part of the paper is devoted to some relations between bipartite MV-algebras and their states. Recall that a state on an MV-algebra is a generalization of a probability measure on a Boolean algebra. Particular states are the states with Bayes' property. We show that an MV-algebra admits a state with the Bayes' property if and only if it is bipartite.

Abstract:Complete MV-algebras are naturally equipped with frame structures. We call them MV-frames and investigate some of their main the properties as frames. We completely characterized algebraic MV-frames as well as regular MV-frames. In addition, we consider nuclei on MV-frames in general and on MV-frames of ideals of Lukasiewicz rings. Finally, we used the Chang-Mundici functor to explore the frame structures of complete unital lattice-ordered groups.

Abstract:We characterize all profinite MV-algebras, these are MV-algebras that are inverse limits of finite MV-algebras. It is shown that these are exactly direct product of finite Łukasiewicz's chains. We also prove that the category $\mathbb{M}$ of multisets is dually equivalent to the category $\mathbb{P}$ of profinite MV-algebras and homomorphisms that reflect principal maximal ideals. Thus generalizing the corresponding result for finite MV-algebras, and finite multisets.

Abstract:MV-monoids are algebras $\langle A,\vee,\wedge, \oplus,\odot, 0,1\rangle$ where $\langle A, \vee, \wedge, 0, 1\rangle$ is a bounded distributive lattice, both $\langle A, \oplus, 0 \rangle$ and $\langle A, \odot, 1\rangle$ are commutative monoids, and some further connecting axioms are satisfied. Every MV-algebra in the signature $\{\oplus,\neg,0\}$ is term equivalent to an algebra that has an MV-monoid as a reduct, by defining, as standard, $1:= \neg 0$, $x \odot y := \neg(\neg x \oplus\neg y)$, $x \vee y := (x \odot \neg y) \oplus y$ and $x \wedge y := \neg(\neg x \vee \neg y)$. Particular examples of MV-monoids are positive MV-algebras, i.e. the $\{\vee, \wedge, \oplus, \odot, 0, 1\}$-subreducts of MV-algebras. Positive MV-algebras form a peculiar quasivariety in the sense that, albeit having a logical motivation (being the quasivariety of subreducts of MV-algebras), it is not the equivalent quasivariety semantics of any logic. In this paper, we study the lattices of subvarieties of MV-monoids and of positive MV-algebras. In particular, we characterize and axiomatize all almost minimal varieties of MV-monoids, we characterize the finite subdirectly irreducible positive MV-algebras, and we characterize and axiomatize all varieties of positive MV-algebras.

Abstract:We prove that there exists a functorial correspondence between MV-algebras and partially cyclically ordered groups which are wound round of lattice-ordered groups. It follows that some results about cyclically ordered groups can be stated in terms of MV-algebras. For example, the study of groups together with a cyclic order allows to get a first-order characterization of groups of unimodular complex numbers and of finite cyclic groups. We deduce a characterization of pseudofinite MV-chains and of pseudo-simple MV-chains (i.e. which share the same first-order properties as some simple ones). We can generalize these results to some non-lineraly ordered MV-algebras, for example hyper-archimedean MV-algebras.

Prime Spectrums of EQ-algebras

Abstract:The main purpose of this paper is to study prime spectrums of EQ-algebras and to solve two open problems about $\wedge $-prime spectrums of involutive and prelinear EQ-algebras, which were proposed by N. Akhlaghinia, R.A. Borzooei and M. A. Kologani. In order to do so, we first give some characterizations of preideals, prime preideals and maximal preideals on (good) EQ-algebras, respectively. Then we introduce the notion of quasi De Morgan EQ-algebras (MEQ-algebras for short) and obtain that $\wedge $-prime preideals coincide with prime preideals for MEQ-algebras, and each involutive EQ-algebra is an MEQ-algebra. Following, we show that the prime spectrum space of a good EQ-algebra is a compact topological space and obtain that for any involutive EQ-algebra the prime spectrum space is connected if and only if its Boolean center is indeed 2-element. Also, we prove that the maximal spectrum space of a good and prelinear EQ-algebra (or an involutive and prelinear EQ-algebra) is a normal Hausdorff space. These results totally answer the above two open problems. Finally, we give some characterizations of the spectrum space of an MEQ-algebra by its reticulation.

Abstract:Compact Hausdorff topological MV-algebras and Stone MV-algebras are completely characterized. We obtain that compact Hausdorff topological MV-algebras are product (both topological and algebraic) of copies $[0,1]$ with standard topology and finite Lukasiewicz chains with discrete topology. Going one step further we also prove that Stone MV-algebras are product (both topological and algebraic) of finite Lukasiewicz chains with discrete topology. We also prove that an MV-algebra is strongly complete (isomorphic to its profinite completion) if and only if it is profinite and its maximal ideals of finite ranks are principal.

We establish the following structure theorem: An MV-algebra is separable if, and only if, it is a finite product of algebras of rational numbers, i.e., of subalgebras of the MV-algebra $[0,1]\cap\mathbb{Q}$. Beyond its intrinsic algebraic interest, this research is motivated by the long-term programme of developing the algebraic geometry of the opposite of the categroy of MV-algebras, in analogy with the classical case of commutative $K$-algebras over a field $K$.

Abstract:We propose in this article a definition of a MV-algebra structure on a class of subsets of some probability spaces and we work-out some examples. Our intention is to convey, by mean of the simplest possible examples, the idea that the topology of the geometric object under consideration might be reflected in the MV-algebraic structure. We also discuss an example of Chang and discuss similarities and differences with the proposed class of examples.

Abstract:We prove that the lattice of ideals of an arbitrary $L$-algebra is distributive. As a consequence, a spectral theory applies with no restriction. We also study the spectrum (i.e. the set of prime ideals) of $L$-algebras and characterize prime ideals in topological terms.

Abstract:Monadic MV-algebras are an algebraic model of the predicate calculus of the Łukasiewicz infinite valued logic in which only a single individual variable occurs. In this paper, we extend monadic MV-algebras with a state operator that describes algebraic properties of states. The resulting variety of algebras will be called state monadic MV-algebras. First, we introduce state monadic MV-algebras and establish a natural equivalence between the category of state monadic MV-algebras and the category of state monadic l -groups with strong units. Moreover, we prove that the class of all state monadic ideals in state monadic MV-algebras is a complete Heyting algebra. In particular, by studying extended state monadic ideals, we prove that the set of all stable state monadic ideals in state monadic MV-algebras is a complete Heyting algebra. Also, the class of all involutory state monadic ideals in state monadic MV-algebras is a complete Boolean algebra. Finally, we introduce and characterize some members in the variety of state monadic MV-algebras, which are subdirectly irreducible, simple, semisimple, local and semilocal, respectively.

Abstract:Journal of Algebra and Its Applications, Ahead of Print. In this paper, we introduce a special type of prime ideals in [math]-algebras. We define the concept of a [math]-prime ideal, which is a proper ideal [math] that preserves the property of being prime with respect to the ideal [math]. If [math] is not a subset of [math], then we call the [math]-prime ideal an [math]-prime ideal. We investigate the relationships between these ideals and their connections to minimal prime ideals and maximal ideals. Additionally, we explore various properties such as extension, transitivity, meet, join, and annihilator. Finally, we study prime ideals in [math]-algebras of continuous functions.

On Topics Related to Tensor Products with Abelian von Neumann Algebras

Abstract:In this note, we developed several results concerning abelian von Neumann algebras, their spectrums, and their tensor products with other von Neumann algebras. In particular, we developed a theory connecting elements of the spectrum of $L^\infty(\Omega, \mu)$ with ultrafilters on a Boolean algebra associated with $(\Omega, \mu)$, generalizing the case where $\Omega$ is a discrete space and its spectrum is identified with the space of ultrafilters on $\Omega$. These ultrafilters were also used to define a new kind of tracial ultrapowers. We also developed a theory representing elements of $L^\infty(\Omega, \mu) \bar{\otimes} M$ as functions that are continuous from the spectrum to $M$ equipped with the weak* topology, analogous to the classical direct integral theory, but which can apply to non-separable von Neumann algebras. We then applied this theory to prove several structural results of isomorphisms $L^\infty(\Omega, \mu) \bar{\otimes} M \rightarrow L^\infty(\Omega, \mu) \bar{\otimes} N$ where $M$ and $N$ are $\mathrm{II}_1$ factors and placed several constraints on $M$ and $N$. The ultrafilter representation of the spectrum was then used to perform certain calculations to provide specific examples regarding the spectrum representations of tensor products as well as the structures of isomorphisms $L^\infty(\Omega, \mu) \bar{\otimes} M \rightarrow L^\infty(\Omega, \mu) \bar{\otimes} N$.

Abstract:In the last decade, interest in projective MV-algebras has grown greatly; see [1], [5] e [6]. In this paper we establish a necessary and sufficient condition for n elements of the free n-generator MV-algebra to generate a projective MV-algebra. This generalizes the characterization of the n free generators proved in [7]. Using this, some classes of projective generators for bigenerated MV-algebras, are given. In particular, some effective procedures to determine, by elementary methods, generators of projective MV-algebras are.

Abstract:Explicit formulas to calculate MV functions in a basis-free representation are presented for an arbitrary Clifford geometric algebra Cl(p,q). The formulas are based on analysis of the roots of minimal MV polynomial and covers defective MVs, i.e. the MVs that have non-diagonalizable matrix representations. The method may be generalized straightforwardly to matrix functions and to finite dimensional linear operators. The results can find wide application in Clifford algebra analysis.
