Abstract:ABSTRACTInformation and knowledge have been recognized as valuable resources for gaining competitive advantage, streamlining decision making and improving strategic management. In an increasingly competitive economic environment, the survival of organizations is heavily dependent on their recognition of information as an important strategic resource (Choo, ). Entrepreneurs, who have been regarded as the key drivers of innovation and have frequently been credited with boosting economic development (Timmons & Spinelli, 2009), find themselves in an increasingly disadvantaged position as a result of an inability to compete with the financial power of large companies. The benefits that entrepreneurs reap from having access to quality information resources have been documented in many studies, however, the accessibility and preferences of the information resources varies by context. The focus of the panel will be exploring how information specialists and institutions help entrepreneurs access and use information resources to support their business ventures. Panellists will shed light on different international perspectives drawn from research conducted on different types of groups/organizations. Discussion will be geared to illuminate existing approaches that have been taken to meet the information needs of entrepreneurs, with a view to propose future courses of action.

Abstract:This study proposes an empirical framework to investigate the impact of social capital on an entrepreneurial opportunity and organisational knowledge. The results indicate that (1) entrepreneurial opportunity is positively affected by structural and relational dimensions of social capital and absorptive capacity (2) accumulative knowledge is positively affected by structural and cognitive dimensions of social capital (3) absorptive capacity is positively affected by accumulative knowledge. This study presents an efficient mechanism for managers to promote entrepreneurial opportunity and offers comprehensive perspectives for researchers to achieve a better insight in the fields of knowledge management, social capital and enterprise development.

Abstract:Inter-organizational information systems are critical in the modern business world, as a large portion of economic activities are done through inter-organizational collaborations. One such important collaboration is social innovation/entrepreneurship, which involves multiple parties from diverse areas cooperating in major tasks. Against such a backdrop, exploring beneficial factors for organizational members to actively develop and/or make good use of a management information system (MIS) for collaborative performance has become a vital research question. This conceptual paper argues that positive psychology is critical to encourage members to volunteer to construct an MIS that facilitates social innovation effectiveness. Specifically, we discuss the four dimensions of psychological capital (i.e., hope, optimism, self-efficacy, and resilience) on effective inter-organizational MIS attributes (e.g., connectivity), and on the consequences of social innovation. At the core of this discussion, we believe that a positive psychological foundation is a driver for staff effort to contribute to a better MIS, which could benefit social innovation success. This research contributes by offering inspiration for future studies to link the micro- and macro-level aspects of social innovation and entrepreneurship phenomena.

Abstract:The concept of social capital now is the key to individual and organizational success throughout the twenty-first century. It is the stock of accumulated resources that one can access based on the relationships that can aid or be leveraged in accomplishing an end or furthering a pursuit. This study considers how the social capital affects knowledge transfer. First, presents the theoretical background of social capital. Abstract:Background/Motivation: This article presents a systematic review aimed at examining the utilization of learning analytics (LA) to enhance teachers' professional capital. Aim: The study focuses on three primary research questions: (1) exploring the characteristics and approaches of LA in professional capital, (2) investigating suggestions from LA for assessing and improving professional capital, and (3) examining variables studied in enhancing the most intricate dimension of professional capital using LA. Methodology: To address the research objectives, a systematic review was conducted focusing on the key concepts "learning analytics" and "professional capital." Following the procedures outlined encompassed in four stages: identification, screening, inclusion, and adequacy. The PRISMA 2009 protocol guided the systematic review process. Principal findings: The findings of the study underscore the efficacy of LA as a catalyst for improving professional capital, particularly through collaborative learning and the utilization of tools like forums and online learning platforms. Social capital emerges as a pivotal component in integrating diverse types of professional capital, fostering opportunities for knowledge creation and social networking. Conclusion/Significance: In conclusion, the study highlights the paramount significance of addressing teachers' professional capital development through collaborative approaches and leveraging technology, particularly in primary education. The article concludes by emphasizing the imperative for more research and knowledge dissemination in this field, aiming to ensure equity in learning and address the challenges posed by the COVID−19 pandemic.

Abstract:This special edition explores and analyses the complexities and possibilities of social enterprise and social innovation. While these related concepts have been subject to considerable research, policy and practitioner attention, detailed empirical studies of the processes involved, the impact of social enterprises, the effects of social innovations and the motivations of social entrepreneurs, and those with whom they partner, are rare. The articles which follow present fresh evidence to provide contemporary insights into: the role of risk in shaping the effectiveness of social enterprises; the mediating function of not-for-profit organisations in the process of social innovation; the relevance of local embeddedness and sociocultural context; and the practice of social entrepreneurship within fluctuating and difficult environmental circumstances. These articles provide convincing examinations of and insights into social enterprise and social innovation which, at times, challenge dominant state within the ‘mainstream’ entrepreneurship discourse. Individually, they offer recommendations for future research and collectively, identify a research agenda for developing knowledge about social entrepreneurship and social innovation.

Abstract:The concept of psychological capital (PsyCap) has attracted a great deal of interest from both academics and practitioners and has been linked to employee attitudes, behavior and performance at different levels of analysis. Yet, the nature of the concept, its measurement, the factors that influence its development, and when and how it influences individual‐level, team‐level and organizational‐level outcomes are the subject of continued debate in the literature. This article offers a detailed and focused review of the existing literature on PsyCap, with the aim of developing an agenda for future research. In particular, we call for researchers to pay greater attention to possible multi‐level applications of PsyCap research, examine the underlying mechanisms by which PsyCap influences individual‐level, team‐level and organizational‐level outcomes, and identify possible factors that may moderate the relationship between PsyCap and its outcomes. Abstract:From the capital perspective , this paper discusses the effect and interaction effect of different types of capital on promoting entrepreneurial intention of professional degree graduate students in China .Analysis of a questionnaire involving 231 graduate students shows that professional degree graduate students’ social capital has significantly positive effect on their entrepreneurial intention , and the interaction effect of human capital , family capital and social capital also has positive correlation with their entrepreneurial intention .Based on the empirical research results ,Some suggestions are offered on how to improve and enhance entrepreneurship education of professional degree graduate students in China .
The Role of Organized Activities in Supporting Youth Social Capital Development: A Qualitative Meta-Synthesis

Abstract:Social capital provides young people with a web of supportive relationships that can be leveraged in pursuit of education, career, and life goals. Organized activities, an umbrella term for extracurricular activities, after-school programs, and youth development programs, are important developmental contexts for building social capital. The purpose of this study was to illuminate the developmental pathway through which social capital development occurs in organized activities. A qualitative meta-synthesis was conducted using 33 articles that met inclusion criteria across five databases (e.g., ERIC, PsycINFO) between June 2022 and May 2023. Thematic analysis was used to identify malleable organized activity features that act as levers for social capital promotion. Seven thematically aligned features were identified, including (1) organizational partnerships, (2) organizational supporting structures, (3) relationally strong climate, (4) staff mindsets and skills, (5) youth mindsets and skills, (6) increased social capital opportunities, and (7) increased social capital activation. These seven themes were used to construct an empirically-grounded model that posits a process through which organized activities support youth social capital development. Implications for intentionally strengthening organized activities' capacity to support youth social capital are discussed.

Abstract:Environmental entrepreneurship has a vital role in addressing our planet's critical environmental state by implementing innovative solutions to combat escalating environmental threats. These ventures, however, face numerous challenges, including securing initial funding, navigating technical difficulties, and gaining market acceptance, which are magnified by the pioneering nature of green innovations. Social capital is a key facilitator, enabling entrepreneurs to overcome obstacles through smart network management, trust, and strategic partnerships. This study investigates the role of social capital in mitigating the challenges faced by environmental entrepreneurs. We conducted semi-structured interviews with entrepreneurs. Our findings reveal how social capital not only assists in navigating the complexities and challenges ingrained in environmental entrepreneurship but is also an inherent part of environmental venture creation. These insights emphasize the importance of social capital in advancing environmental innovation. Theoretical and practical implications are discussed.

Additionally, the service continues the librarians' support of both the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Magnet and Joint Commission reaccreditation efforts.

Abstract:Sharing positive events with others is a phenomenon referred to as "capitalization." Extant theory on capitalization considers the process of disclosing positive events as socioemotional in nature. However, individuals capitalize in the context of workplace relationships that serve instrumental functions, pointing to the possibility that the process of capitalization may at times be instrumental as well. In this paper, we integrate theory on capitalization with the social-functionalist model of emotions to develop a model that explains how workplace interpersonal capitalization serves the instrumental function of spurring knowledge sharing. We identify pride as a linking mechanism between workplace interpersonal capitalization and knowledge sharing, and we argue that experiencing pride is contingent on employees disclosing positive events that they attribute to their own efforts. We also identify perceived coworker responsiveness as a boundary condition qualifying the association between pride and knowledge sharing. A source- and time-separated field study and an experience sampling field experiment with a daily intervention provide support for our hypothesized model. Overall, our work broadens the concept of capitalization and contributes to the social-functionalist model of emotions.
