Abstract:We compute the formal Poisson cohomology groups of a real Poisson structure $\pi$ on $\mathbb{C}^2$ associated to the Lefschetz singularity $(z_1, z_2)\mapsto z_1^2+z_2^2$. In particular we correct an erroneous computation in the literature. The definition of $\pi$ depends on a choice of volume form. Using the main result we formally classify all Poisson structure arising from different choices of volume forms.

As a basic fact, we establish that on such manifolds, the Dolbeault cohomology with coefficients in holomorphic polyvector fields is isomorphic to the cohomology of invariant forms with coefficients in invariant polyvector fields. We then quickly identify the existence of invariant holomorphic Poisson structures. More important, the spectral sequence of the Poisson bi-complex associated to such holomorphic Poisson structure degenerates at $E_2$. We will also provide examples of holomorphic Poisson structures on such manifolds so that the related spectral sequence does not degenerate at $E_2$.

Abstract:The Hopf dual H ° of any Poisson Hopf algebra H is proved to be a co-Poisson Hopf algebra provided H is noetherian. Without noetherian assumption, unlike it is claimed in literature, the statement does not hold. It is proved that there is no nontrivial Poisson Hopf structure on the universal enveloping algebra of a non-abelian Lie algebra. So the polynomial Hopf algebra, viewed as the universal enveloping algebra of a finite-dimensional abelian Lie algebra, is considered. The Poisson Hopf structures on polynomial Hopf algebras are exactly linear Poisson structures. The co-Poisson structures on polynomial Hopf algebras are characterized. Some correspondences between co-Poisson and Poisson structures are also established.

Complex Manifolds

Abstract:Holomorphic Poisson structures arise naturally in the realm of generalized geometry. A holomorphic Poisson structure induces a deformation of the complex structure in a generalized sense, whose cohomology is obtained by twisting the Dolbeault @-operator by the holomorphic Poisson bivector field. Therefore, the cohomology space naturally appears as the limit of a spectral sequence of a double complex. The first sheet of this spectral sequence is simply the Dolbeault cohomology with coefficients in the exterior algebra of the holomorphic tangent bundle. We identify various necessary conditions on compact complex manifolds on which this spectral sequence degenerates on the level of the second sheet. The manifolds to our concern include all compact complex surfaces, Kähler manifolds, and nilmanifolds with abelian complex structures or parallelizable complex structures.

Abstract:In this note, we study the Koszul-Brylinski homology of holomorphic Poisson manifolds. We show that it is isomorphic to the cohomology of a certain smooth complex Lie algebroid with values in the Evens-Lu-Weinstein duality module. As a consequence, we prove that the Evens-Lu-Weinstein pairing on Koszul-Brylinski homology is nondegenerate. Finally we compute the Koszul-Brylinski homology for Poisson structures on $\CP^1\times\CP^1$.

Abstract:A version of the twisted Poincaré duality is proved between the Poisson homology and cohomology of a polynomial Poisson algebra with values in an arbitrary Poisson module. The duality is achieved by twisting the Poisson module structure in a canonical way, which is constructed from the modular derivation. In the case that the Poisson structure is unimodular, the twisted Poincaré duality reduces to the Poincaré duality in usual sense. The main result generalizes the work of Launois and Richard [8] for the quadratic Poisson structures and Zhu [25] for the linear Poisson structures.
The symplectic form associated to a singular Poisson algebra

Abstract:Given an affine Poisson algebra, that is singular one may ask whether there is an associated symplectic form. In the smooth case the answer is obvious: for the symplectic form to exist the Poisson tensor has to be invertible. In the singular case, however, derivations do not form a projective module and the nondegeneracy condition is more subtle. For a symplectic singularity one may naively ask if there is indeed an analogue of a symplectic form. We examine an example of a symplectic singularity, namely the double cone, and show that here such a symplectic form exists. We use the naive de Rham complex of a Lie-Rinehart algebra. Our analysis of the double cone uses Gröbner bases calculations. We also give an alternative construction of the symplectic form that generalizes to categorical quotients of cotangent lifted representations of finite groups. We use the same formulas to construct a symplectic form on the simple cone, seen as a Poisson differential space and generalize the construction to linear symplectic orbifolds. We present useful auxiliary results that enable to explicitly determine generators for the module of derivations an affine variety. The latter may be understood as a differential space.

Abstract:Similar to the modular vector fields in Poisson geometry, modular derivations are defined for smooth Poisson algebras with trivial canonical bundle. By twisting Poisson module with the modular derivation, the Poisson cochain complex with values in any Poisson module is proved to be isomorphic to the Poisson chain complex with values in the corresponding twisted Poisson module. Then a version of twisted Poincaré duality is proved between the Poisson homologies and cohomologies. Furthermore, a notion of pseudo-unimodular Poisson structure is defined. It is proved that the Poisson cohomology as a Gerstenhaber algebra admits a Batalin-Vilkovisky operator inherited from some one of its Poisson cochain complex if and only if the Poisson structure is pseudo-unimodular. This generalizes the geometric version due to P. Xu. The modular derivation and Batalin-Vilkovisky operator are also described by using the dual basis of the Kähler differential module.

Abstract:We present a class of Poisson structures on trivial extension algebras which generalize some known structures induced by Poisson modules. We show that there exists a one-to-one correspondence between such a class of Poisson structures and some data involving (not necessarily flat) contravariant derivatives, and then we give a formulation of this result in terms of Lie algebroids. Some properties of the first Poisson cohomology are also presented. Examples coming from Poisson modules and Poisson submanifolds are given.

Abstract:This paper is devoted to study Frobenius Poisson algebras. We introduce pseudo-unimodular Poisson algebras by generalizing unimodular Poisson algebras, and investigate Batalin-Vilkovisky structures on their cohomology algebras. For any Frobenius Poisson algebra, all Batalin-Vilkovisky operators on its Poisson cochain complex are described explicitly. It is proved that there exists a Batalin-Vilkovisky operator on its cohomology algebra which is induced from a Batalin-Vilkovisky operator on the Poisson cochain complex, if and only if the Poisson structure is pseudo-unimodular. The relation between modular derivations of polynomial Poisson algebras and those of their truncated Poisson algebras is also described in some cases.

Abstract:We discuss Poisson structures on a weighted polynomial algebra $A:=\Bbbk[x, y, z]$ defined by a homogeneous element $\Omega\in A$, called a potential. We start with classifying potentials $\Omega$ of degree deg$(x)+$deg$(y)+$deg$(z)$ with any positive weight (deg$(x)$, deg$(y)$, deg$(z)$) and list all with isolated singularity. Based on the classification, we study the rigidity of $A$ in terms of graded twistings and classify Poisson fraction fields of $A/(\Omega)$ for irreducible potentials. Using Poisson valuations, we characterize the Poisson automorphism group of $A$ when $\Omega$ has an isolated singularity extending a nice result of Makar-Limanov-Turusbekova-Umirbaev. Finally, Poisson cohomology groups are computed for new classes of Poisson polynomial algebras.

Abstract:We prove that the Newton polygons of Frobenius on the crystalline cohomology of proper smooth varieties satisfy a symmetry that results, in the case of projective smooth varieties, from Poincaré duality and the hard Lefschetz theorem. As a corollary, we deduce that the Betti numbers in odd degrees of any proper smooth variety over a field are even (a consequence of Hodge symmetry in characteristic zero), answering an old question of Serre. Then we give a generalization and a refinement for arbitrary varieties over finite fields, in response to later questions of Serre and of Katz.

Compatible Poisson structures on multiplicative quiver varieties

Abstract:Any multiplicative quiver variety is endowed with a Poisson structure constructed by Van den Bergh through reduction from a Hamiltonian quasi-Poisson structure. The smooth locus carries a corresponding symplectic form defined by Yamakama through quasi-Hamiltonian reduction. In this note, we include the Poisson structure as part of a pencil of compatible Poisson structures on the multiplicative quiver variety. The pencil is defined by reduction from a pencil of Hamiltonian quasi-Poisson structures which has dimension $\ell(\ell-1)/2$, where $\ell$ is the number of arrows in the underlying quiver. For each element of the pencil, we exhibit the corresponding compatible symplectic or quasi-Hamiltonian structure. We comment on analogous constructions for character varieties and quiver varieties. This formalism is applied to the spin Ruijsenaars-Schneider phase space in order to explain the compatibility of two Poisson structures that have recently appeared in the literature.

Abstract:Among simple Z-graded Lie superalgebras of polynomial growth, there are several which have no Cartan matrix but, nevertheless, have a quadratic even Casimir element C_{2}: these are the Lie superalgebra k^L(1|6) of vector fields on the (1|6)-dimensional supercircle preserving the contact form, and the series: the finite dimensional Lie superalgebra sh(0|2k) of special Hamiltonian fields in 2k odd indeterminates, and the Kac--Moody version of sh(0|2k). Using C_{2} we compute N. Shapovalov determinant for k^L(1|6) and sh(0|2k), and for the Poisson superalgebras po(0|2k) associated with sh(0|2k). A. Shapovalov described irreducible finite dimensional representations of po(0|n) and sh(0|n); we generalize his result for Verma modules: give criteria for irreducibility of the Verma modules over po(0|2k) and sh(0|2k).

Abstract:Let $X$ be a finite connected poset, $K$ a field of characteristic zero and $I(X,K)$ the incidence algebra of $X$ over $K$ seen as a Lie algebra under the commutator product. In the first part of the paper we show that any $\frac{1}{2}$-derivation of $I(X,K)$ decomposes into the sum of a central-valued $\frac 12$-derivation, an inner $\frac{1}{2}$-derivation and a $\frac{1}{2}$-derivation associated with a map $\sigma:X^2_<\to K$ that is constant on chains and cycles in $X$. In the second part of the paper we use this result to prove that any transposed Poisson structure on $I(X,K)$ is the sum of a structure of Poisson type, a mutational structure and a structure determined by $\lambda:X^2_e\to K$, where $X^2_e$ is the set of $(x,y)\in X^2$ such that $x<y$ is a maximal chain not contained in a cycle.
