Abstract:We prove several results on the distribution function of $\zeta(1+it)$ in the complex plane, that is the joint distribution function of $\arg\zeta(1+it)$ and $|\zeta(1+it)|$. Similar results are also given for $L(1,\chi)$ (as $\chi$ varies over non-principal characters modulo a large prime $q$).

Abstract:In this paper, the approximation of analytic functions by shifts ζP(s+iτ) of Beurling zeta-functions ζP(s) of certain systems P of generalized prime numbers is discussed. It is required that the system of generalized integers NP generated by P satisfies ∑m⩽x,m∈N1=ax+O(xδ), a>0, 0⩽δ<1, and the function ζP(s) in some strip lying in σ^<σ δ, which has a bounded mean square. Proofs are based on the convergence of probability measures in some spaces.

Abstract:Abstract In this paper, we prove that for a transcendental meromorphic function f(z) on the complex plane, the inequality T(r, f) < 6N (r, 1/(f2 f(k)−1)) + S(r, f) holds, where k is a positive integer. Moreover, we prove the following normality criterion: Let ℱ be a family of meromorphic functions on a domain D and let k be a positive integer. If for each ℱ ∈ ℱ, all zeros of ℱ are of multiplicity at least k, and f2 f(k) ≠ 1 for z ∈ D, then ℱ is normal in the domain D. At the same time we also show that the condition on multiple zeros of f in the normality criterion is necessary.

Abstract:We give a probabilistic interpretation of the Dedekind zeta functions of $\mathbb{Q}(\sqrt{-1})$ and $\mathbb{Q}(\sqrt{-2})$ using zeta integrals and use this to show that the first two Li coefficients of these zeta functions are positive. This extends a result of Biane, Pitman, and Yor (2001) which considered the case of the Riemann zeta function.

Abstract:The theory of value distribution of meromorphic functions is developed in two directions: module distribution and argument distribution. This article is a survey on two aspects of the value distribution of meromorphic functions with respect to arguments and it also includes some new results. The first part is to survey a characterization of growth of a transcendental meromorphic function for which the number of a-points in certain curvilinear sectors, specially in angular domains, is restricted. The second part is devoted to the discussion of singular directions: the Julia, Borel directions and T-directions. In the final section, some problems will be given for further discussion.

Abstract:This note gives some applications of the zeta distribution to number theory. First, a number of probabilistic proofs of the equality between the Riemann zeta functions and some number-theoretic functions are provided. Second, some problems of probability with respect to positive integers considered in the literature are discussed in the zeta distribution case. In contrast to usual heuristic arguments of probabilistic approach in number theory where the uniform distribution is assumed on positive integers, the proofs here are rigorous by utilizing the zeta distributions on positive integers.

Abstract:We study the value distributions of the random analytic functions on the unit disk of the form where and are independent and identically distributed random variables defined on a probability space . Some of the theorems complement the work in [6], which deals with random entire functions. We first define a family of random analytic functions in the above form, which includes Gaussian, Rademacher, and Steinhaus analytic functions. Then we prove the relationship between the integrated counting function and the norm of on the circle as is close to . As a by-product, we obtain Nevanlinna's second main theorem on the unit disk. Finally, we show theorems on the maximum modulus of and on the unit disk.

Abstract:Building on the work of Arizmendi and Celestino (2021), we derive the $*$-distributions of polynomials in monotone independent and infinitesimally monotone independent elements. For non-zero complex numbers $\alpha$ and $\beta$, we derive explicitly the $*$-distribution of $p_{\alpha,\beta}=\alpha ab + \beta ba$ whenever $a$ and $b$ are monotone or infinitesimally monotone independent elements. This encompasses both cases of the commutator and anti-commutator. This approach can be pushed to study more general polynomials. As applications, we derive the limiting distribution with respect to the partial trace of polynomials in a certain class of random matrices.

Abstract:The study of probability distributions for random variables and their algebraic combinations has been a central focus driving the advancement of probability and statistics. Since the 1920s, the challenge of calculating the probability distributions of sums, differences, products, and quotients of independent random variables have drawn the attention of numerous statisticians and mathematicians who studied the algebraic properties and relationships of random variables. Statistical distributions are highly helpful in data science and machine learning, as they provide a range of possible values for the variables, aiding in the development of a deeper understanding of the underlying problem. In this paper, we have presented a new probability distribution based on the $\hat{I}$-function. Also, we have discussed the applications of the $\hat{I}$ function, particularly in deriving the distributions of product and the quotient involving two independent $\hat{I}$ function variates. Additionally, it has been shown that both the product and quotient of two independent $\hat{I}$-function variates also follow the $\hat{I}$-function distribution. Furthermore, the new distribution, known as the $\hat{I}$-function distribution, includes several well-known classical distributions such as the gamma, beta, exponential, normal H-function, and G-function distributions, among others, as special cases. Therefore, the $\hat{I}$-function distribution can be considered a characterization or generalization of the above-mentioned distributions.

Abstract:In his influential paper on quantum modular forms, Zagier developed a conjectural framework describing the behavior of certain quantum knot invariants under the action of the modular group on their arguments. More precisely, when $J_{K,0}$ denotes the colored Jones polynomial of a knot $K$, Zagier's modularity conjecture describes the asymptotics of the quotient $J_{K,0} (e^{2 \pi i \gamma(x)}) / J_{K,0}(e^{2 \pi i x})$ as $x \to \infty$ along rationals with bounded denominators, where $\gamma \in \mathrm{SL}(2,\mathbb{Z})$. This problem is most accessible for the figure-eight knot $4_1$, where the colored Jones polynomial has a simple explicit expression in terms of the $q$-Pochhammer symbol. Zagier also conjectured that the function $h(x) = \log (J_{4_1,0} (e^{2 \pi i x}) / J_{4_1,0}(e^{2 \pi i /x}))$ can be extended to a function on $\mathbb{R}$ which is continuous at irrationals. In the present paper, we prove Zagier's continuity conjecture for all irrationals for which the sequence of partial quotients in the continued fraction expansion is unbounded. In particular, the continuity conjecture holds almost everywhere on the real line. We also establish a smooth approximation of $h$, uniform over all rationals, in accordance with the modularity conjecture. As an application, we find the limit distribution (after a suitable centering and rescaling) of $\log J_{4_1,0}(e^{2 \pi i x})$, when $x$ ranges over all reduced rationals in $(0,1)$ with denominator at most $N$, as $N \to \infty$, thereby confirming a conjecture of Bettin and Drappeau.

Abstract:Abstract Let $d\in\mathbb{N}$ and π be a fixed cuspidal automorphic representation of $\mathrm{GL}_{d}(\mathbb{A}_{\mathbb{Q}})$ with unitary central character. We determine the limiting distribution of the family of values $-\frac{L^{\prime}}{L}(1+it,\pi\otimes\chi_D)$ as D varies over fundamental discriminants. Here, t is a fixed real number and χD is the real character associated with D. We establish an upper bound on the discrepancy in the convergence of this family to its limiting distribution. As an application of this result, we obtain an upper bound on the small values of $\left|\frac{L^{\prime}}{L}(1,\pi\otimes\chi_D)\right|$ when π is self-dual.

Abstract:We consider the distribution of $\arg\zeta(\sigma+it)$ on fixed lines $\sigma > \frac12$, and in particular the density \[d(\sigma) = \lim_{T \rightarrow +\infty} \frac{1}{2T} |\{t \in [-T,+T]: |\arg\zeta(\sigma+it)| > \pi/2\}|\,,\] and the closely related density \[d_{-}(\sigma) = \lim_{T \rightarrow +\infty} \frac{1}{2T} |\{t \in [-T,+T]: \Re\zeta(\sigma+it) < 0\}|\,.\] Using classical results of Bohr and Jessen, we obtain an explicit expression for the characteristic function $\psi_\sigma(x)$ associated with $\arg\zeta(\sigma+it)$. We give explicit expressions for $d(\sigma)$ and $d_{-}(\sigma)$ in terms of $\psi_\sigma(x)$. Finally, we give a practical algorithm for evaluating these expressions to obtain accurate numerical values of $d(\sigma)$ and $d_{-}(\sigma)$.

Abstract:$L$ functions based on Dirichlet characters are natural generalizations of the Riemann $\zeta(s)$ function: they both have series representations and satisfy an Euler product representation, i.e. an infinite product taken over prime numbers. In this paper we address the Generalized Riemann Hypothesis relative to the non-trivial complex zeros of the Dirichlet $L$ functions by studying the possibility to enlarge the original domain of convergence of their Euler product. The feasibility of this analytic continuation is ruled by the asymptotic behavior in $N$ of the series $B_N = \sum_{n=1}^N \cos \bigl( t \log p_n - \arg \chi (p_n) \bigr)$ involving Dirichlet characters $\chi$ modulo $q$ on primes $p_n$. Although deterministic, these series have pronounced stochastic features which make them analogous to random time series. We show that the $B_N$'s satisfy various normal law probability distributions. The study of their large asymptotic behavior poses an interesting problem of statistical physics equivalent to the Single Brownian Trajectory Problem, here addressed by defining an appropriate ensemble $\mathcal{E}$ involving intervals of primes. For non-principal characters, we show that the series $B_N$ present a universal diffusive random walk behavior $B_N = O(\sqrt{N})$ in view of the Dirichlet theorem on the equidistribution of reduced residue classes modulo $q$ and the Lemke Oliver-Soundararajan conjecture on the distribution of pairs of residues on consecutive primes. This purely diffusive behavior of $B_N$ implies that the domain of convergence of the infinite product representation of the Dirichlet $L$-functions for non-principal characters can be extended from $\Re(s) > 1$ down to $\Re (s) = \frac{1}{2}$, without encountering any zeros before reaching this critical line.
