Abstract:A simple and efficient green method for synthesis of bis(6‐aminouracil‐5‐yl)methanes has been developed using β‐cyclodextrin‐SO3H as a supramolecular catalyst in water at 100 °C. Total 16 compounds were synthesized in a one‐pot reaction with substituted aromatic aldehydes, 6‐amino‐1,3‐dimethyluracil, and β‐cyclodextrin‐SO3H (10%), achieving yields of 84%–92% in 20–120 min. This method features water as a green solvent, a recyclable catalyst, mild conditions, easy product isolation, and good to excellent yields. A simple, straightforward, and highly efficient greener approach for synthesizing bis(6‐aminouracil‐5‐yl)methane derivatives was developed by employing β‐cyclodextrin‐SO3H as supramolecular catalyst in water at 100 °C.
