Abstract:CP violation in supersymmetric models is reviewd with focus on explicit CP violation in the MSSM. The topics covered in particular are CP-mixing in the Higgs sector and its measurement at the LHC, CP-odd observables in the gaugino sector at the ILC, EDM constraints, and the neutralino relic density.

Abstract:Since its discovery in the 1960s, the violation of CP symmetry has intrigued scientists and stimulated the advancement of knowledge in particle physics. Numerous experiments were designed and built to study it in increasingly deeper detail. Nowadays, the phenomenon is well framed within the Standard Model of Particle Physics. Nevertheless, new results are being produced by modern experiments at colliders that challenge the current understanding of the model. In this article, the current status of CP violation studies and the role of CP violation in the search for effects beyond the Standard Model are described together with the prospects for ongoing and future experiments.

Abstract:The complete analysis of CP violation in the process in the framework of the minimal supersymmetric model is presented. The CP-odd observables for describing the CP violating effects in polarized and unpolarized photon collisions, are calculated. We investigate the possible CP violation sources induced by the complex soft breaking parameters and study the CP violating effects contributed by gluino, neutralino and chargino sectors appearing in the loop diagrams. We find that it is possible to observe CP violating effects in top-quark pair production via polarized and unpolarized photon fusions by using optimal observables and favourable parameters.
Leptonic CP-violation in the sneutrino sector of the BLSSM with Inverse Seesaw

Abstract:We study CP violation (CPV) in the sneutrino sector within the B-L extension of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (BLSSM), wherein an inverse seesaw mechanism has been implemented. CPV arises from the new superpotential couplings in the (s)neutrino sector, which can be complex and the mixing of CP-eigenstates induced by those couplings. CPV leads to asymmetries in so called T-odd observables, but we argue that such asymmetries also lead to a wider distribution of those observables. We look at a final state where a sneutrino decays to a lepton, two jets and missing transverse momentum at the Future Circular Collider operating in hadron-hadron mode at $100$ TeV and with a luminosity of 3~ab$^{-1}$. In order to exclude the CP conserving scenario we need to improve traditional analysis by introducing boosted decision trees using both standard kinematic variables and T-odd observables and we need $Z^{\prime}$ boson not too much above current bounds as a portal to produce sneutrinos efficiently.

Abstract:We study CP violation in a multi-Higgs doublet model based on a $S_3 \times Z_3$ horizontal symmetry. We consider two mechanisms for CP violation in this model: a) CP violation due to complex Yukawa couplings; and b) CP violation due to scalar-pseudoscalar mixings. We find that the predictions for $\epsilon'/\epsilon$, CP violation in B decays and the electric dipole moments of neutron and electron are different between these two mechanisms. These predictions are also dramatically different from the minimal Standard Model predictions.

Abstract:The standard model (SM) has several issues related to the $CP$ violation which could give clues to search physics beyond the SM. They are a $CP$ phase in the CKM matrix, the strong $CP$ problem, $CP$ phases in the PMNS matrix and $CP$ asymmetry in lepton number violating processes related to baryon number asymmetry. We consider a model which could give a unified explanation for them in a framework of spontaneous $CP$ violation. It is an extension of the SM with vector-like fermions and singlet scalars. In this model, they are explained by a common complex phase caused in the spontaneous $CP$ violation. We present concrete examples for them and also discuss some relevant phenomenology.

Abstract:We study CP violation in a multi-Higgs doublet model based on a $S_3 \times Z_3$ horizontal symmetry where CKM phase is not the principal source of CP violation. We consider two mechanisms for CP violation in this model: a) CP violation due to complex Yukawa couplings; and b) CP violation due to scalar-pseudoscalar Higgs boson mixings. Both mechanisms can explain the observed CP violation in the neutral Kaon system. $\epsilon'/\epsilon$ due to neutral Higgs boson exchange is small in both mechanisms, but charged Higgs boson con- tributions can be as large as $10^{-3}$ for a), and $10^{-4}$ for b). CP violation in the neutral B system is, however, quite different from the Minimal Standard Model. The neutron Electric Dipole Moment can be as large as the present ex- perimental bound, and can be used to constrain charged Higgs boson masses. The electron EDM is one order of magnitude below the experimental bound in case b) and smaller in case a).

Abstract:CP violation plays a very important role in nature with implications both for Particle Physics and for Cosmology. Accounting for the observed matter anti-matter asymmetry of the Universe requires the existence of new sources of CP violation beyond the Standard Model. In models with an extended scalar sector CP violation can emerge either explicitly, i.e., at the Lagrangian level, or spontaneously. In the context of multi-Higgs extensions of the Standard Model imposing the existence of a scalar basis where all couplings are real is a sufficient condition for CP to be explicitly conserved. We discuss a three-Higgs-doublet model with an underlying $S_3$ symmetry, allowing in principle for complex couplings. In this framework it is possible to have either spontaneous or explicit CP violation in the scalar sector, depending on the regions of parameter space corresponding to the different possible vacua of the $S_3$ symmetric potential. We list all possible vacuum structures allowing for CP violation in the scalar sector specifying whether it can be explicit or spontaneous. It is by now established that CP is violated in the flavour sector and that the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix is complex. In order to understand what are the possible sources of CP violation in the Yukawa sector we analyse the implications of the different available choices of representations for the quarks under the $S_3$ group. This classification is based strictly on the exact $S_3$-symmetric scalar potential with no soft symmetry breaking terms. The scalar sector of one such model was explored numerically. After applying the theoretical and the most important experimental constraints the available parameter space is shown to be able to give rise to light neutral scalars at the $\mathcal{O}(\text{MeV})$ scale.

Abstract:We discuss the discovery potential for New Physics of various measurements of CP violation. If nature is supersymmetric, then the flavor problem is even more mysterious than in the standard model. We show how we can learn about the mechanism that solves the supersymmetric flavor problem from measurements of mixing and CP violation in $K$, $D$ and $B$ decays. Abstract:In the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model, physical phases of complex parameters lead to CP violation. We show how triple products of particle momenta or spins can be used to construct asymmetries, that allow us to probe these CP phases. To give specific examples, we discuss the production of neutralinos at the International Linear Collider. For the Large Hadron Collider, we discuss CP asymmetries in squark decays, and in the tri-lepton signal. We find that the CP asymmetries can be as large as 60%.

Abstract:A non-Abelian flavour symmetry in a minimal supersymmetric standard model can explain the flavour structures in the Yukawa couplings and simultaneously solve the SUSY flavour problem. Similarly the SUSY CP problem can be solved if CP is spontaneously broken in the flavour sector. In this work, we present an explicit example of these statements with a SU(3) flavour symmetry and spontaneous CP violation. In addition, we show that it is still possible to find some significant deviation from the SM expectations as far as FCNC and CP violation are concerned. We find that large contributions can be expected in lepton flavour violating decays, as $\mu \to e \gamma$ and $\tau \to \mu \gamma$, electric dipole moments, $d_e$ and $d_n$ and kaon CP violating processes as $\epsilon_K$. Thus, these flavoured MSSM realizations are phenomenologically sensitive to the experimental searches in the realm of flavor and CP vioation physics.

Abstract:The strong CP violation problem has a long history emanating from its discovery 60 years ago in the decay of neutral kaons and subsequent experimental and theoretical studies over several decades. We review herein experimental data that observe indirect CP violation of the order of $\sim10^{-3}$, as well as the discovery of direct CP violation of the order of $\sim10^{-6}$. Despite improved experimental methods over the past half a century, the original CP violation numbers have remained the same. Verification of the CP violation in the decay of charged kaons was also observed. Data reflecting CP violation in the decays of $B$ and $D$ mesons have become very important and are also discussed in this review. The question of CP violation only with the participation of $s\bar{s}$, $c\bar{c}$, and $b\bar{b}$ quarks in the framework of the Standard Model or beyond it and its small magnitude remains open.

Abstract:The necessary complex structures needed for CP violation are not easy to generate and, indeed, CP can be a symmetry in higher dimensional theories. In 4-dimensions CP violation argues for the existence of a scalar sector and, in its simplest manifestation, leads to the CKM model. Further CP violating phases, from an extended scalar sector, are constrained by the requirement of having no FCNC. Although new CP violating phases are expected in SUSY extensions of the SM, the good agreement of data with the CKM model only provides bounds on these phases. Baryogenesis via leptogenesis requires the presence of CP violating phases in the neutrino sector. However, the CP phases likely to be eventually meausured experimentally are not necessarily directly connected to the ones which drive the leptogenesis.

Abstract:We study CP violation in a chiral color model with exotic fermions transforming as singlets of the weak-isospin group SU(2${)}_{\mathrm{L}}$. The Higgs sector consists of a nonet of chiral color and the usual doublet of SU(2${)}_{\mathrm{L}}$\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}U(1${)}_{\mathrm{Y}}$. In the limit in which the mixings between the third generation with the first two generations are small, CP-violating interactions are dominated by the exchange of neutral Higgs bosons. The CP-violating parameters \ensuremath{\epsilon} and \ensuremath{\epsilon}'/\ensuremath{\epsilon} for the kaon system are easily accommodated. The neutron electric dipole moment is generated at the one-loop level and is \ensuremath{\sim}${10}^{\mathrm{\ensuremath{-}}25}$--${10}^{\mathrm{\ensuremath{-}}26}$e cm.
CP Violation and Flavour-Violating Di-Higgs Couplings in the Randall-Sundrum Model

Abstract:The Randall-Sundrum (RS) model offers a compelling framework to address the hierarchy problem and provides new sources of CP violation beyond the Standard Model (SM). The motivation for studying CP violation in the RS model arises from the insufficiency of CP-violating phases in the SM to account for the observed matter-antimatter asymmetry in the universe. In this work, we explore CP violation through flavour-violating di-Higgs couplings, which emerge due to the localization of bulk fermions and the Higgs near the TeV brane. The analysis focuses on the role of these couplings in di-Higgs production and decay processes, leading to enhanced CP-violating effects. Numerical simulations show that the predicted CP-violating observables are within experimental bounds and could be tested in future collider experiments. The study concludes that flavour-violating di-Higgs couplings in the RS model offer a promising avenue for discovering new sources of CP violation, with significant implications for both collider physics and the understanding of the matter-antimatter asymmetry.

Abstract:We revisit the minimal supersymmetric SU(5) grand unified theory with three right-handed neutrinos in which universality conditions for soft-supersymmetry breaking parameters are imposed at an input scale above the unification scale. If the Majorana masses for the neutrinos are around 10(15) GeV, large mixing angles and phases in the neutrino sector lead to flavor violation and CP violation in the right-handed down-squark and left-handed slepton sectors. Since the observed Higgs boson mass and the proton decay constraints indicate that sfermions have masses larger than a few TeV, flavor and CP constraints are less restrictive. We explore the constraints on models with universal soft-supersymmetry breaking input parameters coming from proton stability, electric dipole moments, mu -> e gamma decays, and the Higgs mass observed at the LHC. Regions compatible with all constraints can be found if nonzero A-terms are taken.

Abstract:Supersymmetric models with nonuniversal down type squark masses can enrich the chiral structure and CP violating phenomena in $b\to s\gamma$ decays. Direct CP violation in $b\to s \gamma$, mixing induced CP violation in radiative $B_{d,s}$ decays (such as $B_s\to \phi \gamma$ and $B_d \to K^*_{1,2}\gamma$), and $\Lambda$ polarization in $\Lambda_b \to \Lambda \gamma$ can be substantially different from the Standard Model. Future experiements at $e^+ e^-$ and hadronic B factories will give important information on the underlying theory for radiative $b$ decays.
