Abstract:We study the charmonium ($c\bar{c}$) and bottomonium ($b\bar{b}$) spectra, using Cornell potential with additional constant potential term in a non-relativistic framework, with spin-dependent corrections corresponding to the spin-spin, spin-orbit, and tensor interactions added perturbatively. We predict the masses of low-lying and excited states of charmonium and bottomonium up to $n=6$ and $L=2$. We analyze the radial and orbital Regge trajectories of both the systems and investigate their departure from linearity. Further, we estimate the wave function at the origin and, consequently, predict the decay widths of charmonium and bottomonium states annihilating to leptons and photons. Also, we investigate the effect of scale dependence of the wave function at the origin and the strong coupling constant on the predictions of annihilation decay widths. We compare our predictions of heavy quarkonium spectra and decay widths with experimental results and other theoretical models.

Abstract:Charmonium spectroscopy with Kogut-Susskind valence quarks are carried out for quenched QCD at $\beta=6.0$ and for two-flavor full QCD at $\beta=5.7$. Results for 1P--1S mass splitting and estimates of $\alpha^{(5)}_{\overline{MS}}(m_Z)$ are reported. Problems associated with flavor breaking effects and finite size effects of $1P$ states are discussed.

Charmonium spectroscopy with optimal distillation profiles

Abstract:We use the method of optimal distillation profiles to compute the low-lying charmonium spectrum in an $N_f = 3+1$ ensemble at the $SU(3)$ light flavor symmetric point ($m_{\pi} \approx 420$ MeV), physical charm quark mass and lattice spacing $a\approx 0.0429$ fm. The spectrum and mass splittings display good agreement with their values in nature and the statistical errors are comparable, if not smaller, than those of state-of-the-art lattice calculations. We also present first results on the mixing of charmonium with glueballs and light hadrons obtained in a similar $N_f = 3+1$ ensemble but at larger pion mass.

Abstract:I review the recent $B$-factory measurements of new states which, in some cases, exhibit Charmonium-like properties, and in other cases suggest the existence of a new spectroscopy. Several theoretical interpretations of the new states have come to the fore although, at time of writing, we are no closer to untangling the nature of most of the particles making up the observed new zoo of states.

Abstract:The mass spectra of charmonium are investigated using a Coulomb plus linear (Cornell) potential. Gaussian wave function in position space as well as in momentum space are employed to calculate the expectation value of potential and kinetic energy respectively. Various experimental states ($X(4660)(5^{3}S_{1})$, $X(3872)(2^{3}P_{1})$, $X(3900)(2^{1}P_{1})$, $X(3915)(2^{3}P_{0})$ and $X(4274)(3^{3}P_{1})$ etc.) are assigned as charmonium states. We also study the Regge trajectories, pseudoscalar and vector decay constants, the Electric and Magnetic dipole transition rates and the annihilation decay width for charmonium states.

Abstract:Recently, we developed and implemented the bond propagation algorithm for calculating the partition function and correlation functions of random bond Ising models in two dimensions. The algorithm is the fastest available for calculating these quantities near the percolation threshold. In this paper, we show how to extend the bond propagation algorithm to directly calculate thermodynamic functions by applying the algorithm to derivatives of the partition function, and we derive explicit expressions for this transformation. We also discuss variations of the original bond propagation procedure within the larger context of Y-Delta-Y-reducibility and discuss the relation of this class of algorithm to other algorithms developed for Ising systems. We conclude with a discussion on the outlook for applying similar algorithms to other models.

Abstract:We study the charmonium spectrum on an ensemble with two heavy dynamical quarks with a mass at half the physical charm quark mass. Operators for different quantum numbers are used in the framework of distillation with different smearing profiles to increase the overlap with ground and excited states. The use of exact distillation, large statistics and the absence of light quarks gives robust results for the charmonium spectrum. We also present preliminary results for the glueball spectrum in this theory.

Abstract:Nuclear suppression of charmonium production in proton-nucleus interactions is poorly understood, what restrains our attempts to single out unusual effects in heavy ion collisions. We develop a phenomenological approach, based on the light-cone dynamics of charmonium production, which has much in common with deep-inelastic scattering and Drell-Yan lepton pair production. The key observation is the existence of a soft mechanism of heavy flavour production, which scales in the quark mass and dominates shadowing corrections and diffraction. It naturally explains the surprisingly strong nuclear suppression of J/Psi at large Feynman-x_F. The low-x_F region is subject to a complicated interplay of hard and soft mechanisms. With evaluated parameters we nicely describe available data on charmonium production in proton-nucleus collisions. Using these results we predict a new process, diffractive production of charmonium on a nucleon target, which fraction in the total production rate of charmonium is evaluated at 12%.

Abstract:Our understanding of high-lying states within the charmonium family remains incomplete, particularly in light of recent observations of charmonium states at energies above 4 GeV. In this study, we investigate the spectroscopic properties of several high-lying charmonia, focusing on the $D$-, $F$-, and $G$-wave states. A mass spectrum analysis is conducted, incorporating the unquenched effects. We then present a detailed study of the strong decay properties, including partial decay widths for two-body strong decays permitted by the Okubo-Zweig-Iizuka (OZI) rule. Additionally, we explore the primary radiative decay channels associated with these states. Theoretical predictions provided here aim to guide future experimental searches for high-lying charmonium states, particularly at BESIII, Belle II and LHCb.
