Abstract:We study the birational geometry of hypersurfaces in products of weighted projective spaces, extending results previously established by J. C. Ottem. For most cases where these hypersurfaces are Mori dream spaces, we determine all relevant cones and characterise their birational models, along with the small $\mathbf{Q}$-factorial modifications to them. We also provide a presentation of their Cox ring. Finally, we establish the birational form of the Kawamata-Morrison cone conjecture for terminal Calabi-Yau hypersurfaces in Gorenstein products of weighted projective spaces.

Abstract:In this note, we explain that Ross-Thomas' result [4, Theorem 1.7] on the weighted Bergman kernels on orbifolds can be directly deduced from our previous result [1]. This result plays an important role in the companion paper [5] to prove an orbifold version of Donaldson theorem.

Abstract:We prove several results concerning automorphism groups of quasismooth complex weighted projective hypersurfaces; these generalize and strengthen existing results for hypersurfaces in ordinary projective space. First, we prove in most cases that automorphisms extend to the ambient weighted projective space. We next provide a characterization of when the linear automorphism group is finite and find an explicit uniform upper bound on the size of this group. Finally, we describe the automorphisms of a generic quasismooth hypersurface with given weights and degree.

Abstract:This article is a follow-up to <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="2304.04373" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2304.04373">arXiv:2304.04373</a>. We establish necessary and sufficient conditions for weighted Orlicz-Poincaré inequalities in product spaces. These results follow the work of Chua and Wheeden, who established similar results for weighted Poincaré inequalities in product spaces.

Abstract:As a by-product of our work on super Plücker embedding, we came to the notion of a weighted projective superspace $P_{+1,-1}(V\oplus W)$ with weights $+1,-1$. The construction is not in itself super and makes sense in ordinary (purely even) framework. Unlike the familiar weighted projective spaces with positive weights, the (super)space $P_{+1,-1}(V\oplus W)$ is a smooth (super)manifold. We describe its structure and show that it possesses an analog of the Fubini--Study form.

Abstract:We investigate local and global weighted heights a-la Weil for weighted projective spaces via Cartier and Weil divisors and extend the definition of weighted heights on weighted projective spaces from <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="1902.06563" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/1902.06563">arXiv:1902.06563</a> to weighted varieties and closed subvarieties. We prove that any line bundle on a weighted variety admits a locally bounded weighted $M$-metric. Using this fact, we define local and global weighted heights for weighted varieties in weighted projective spaces and their closed subschemes and show their fundamental properties.

Abstract:Abstract The string group acts on the category of coherent sheaves over a weighted projective line by degree-shift actions. We study the equivariant relations induced by degree-shift actions between weighted projective lines. We prove that such an equivariant relation is characterized by an admissible homomorphism between the associated string groups. We classify all these equivariant relations for the weighted projective lines of domestic and tubular types, respectively.

Abstract:In a recent article "Projective geometries, $Q$-polynomial structures, and quantum groups" Terwilliger (<a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="2407.14964" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2407.14964">arXiv:2407.14964</a>) defined a certain weighted adjacency matrix, depending on a free (positive real) parameter, associated with the projective geometry, and showed (among many other results) that it is diagonalizable, with the eigenvalues and their multiplicities explicitly written down, and that it satisfies the $Q$-polynomial property (with respect to the zero subspace). In this note we (i) Write down an explicit eigenbasis for this matrix. (ii) Evaluate the adjacency matrix-eigenvector products, yielding a new proof for the eigenvalues and their multiplicities. (iii) Evaluate the dual adjacency matrix-eigenvector products and directly show that the action of the dual adjacency matrix on the eigenspaces of the adjacency matrix is block-tridiagonal, yielding a new proof of the $Q$-polynomial property.

Abstract:Properties of pairs of product conjugate connections are stated with a special view towards the integrability of the given almost product structure. We define the analogous in product geometry of the structural and the virtual tensors from the Hermitian geometry and express the product conjugate connections in terms of these tensors. Some examples from the geometry of a pair of complementary distributions are discussed and for this case the above structural and virtual tensors are expressed in terms of O'Neill-Gray tensor fields.

Javanpeykar's proof of Belyi's theorem for smooth complete intersections of general type in ordinary projective spaces can be generalised to smooth complete intersections of general type in generalised Grassmannians and weighted projective spaces. We propose an approach to the generalisation of this result to smooth complete intersections of general type in more general Mori dream spaces.

Abstract:We study some density results for integral points on the complement of a closed subvariety in the $n$-dimensional projective space over a number field. For instance, we consider a subvariety whose components consist of $n-1$ hyperplanes plus one smooth quadric hypersurface in general position, or four hyperplanes in general position plus a finite number of concurrent straight lines. In these cases, under some conditions on intersection, we show that the integral points on the complements are potentially dense. Our results are generalizations of Corvaja-Zucconi's results for complements of subvarieties in the two or three dimensional projective space.

Interpolation in Weighted Projective Spaces

Abstract:Over an algebraically closed field, the $\textit{double point interpolation}$ problem asks for the vector space dimension of the projective hypersurfaces of degree $d$ singular at a given set of points. After being open for 90 years, a series of papers by J. Alexander and A. Hirschowitz in 1992--1995 settled this question in what is referred to as the Alexander-Hirschowitz theorem. In this paper we primarily use commutative algebra to lay the groundwork necessary to prove analogous statements in the $\textit{weighted projective space}$, a natural generalization of the projective space. We show the Hilbert function of general simple points in any $n$-dimensional weighted projective space exhibits the expected behavior. We give an inductive procedure for weighted projective space, similar to that originally due to A. Terracini from 1915, to demonstrate an example of a weighted projective plane where the analogue of the Alexander-Hirschowitz theorem holds without exceptions. We further adapt Terracini's lemma regarding secant varieties to give an interpolation bound for an infinite family of weighted projective planes.

Abstract:We introduce and study smooth compactifications of the moduli space of n labeled points with weights in projective space, which have normal crossings boundary and are defined as GIT quotients of the weighted Fulton-MacPherson compactification. We show that the GIT quotient of a wonderful compactification is also a wonderful compactification under certain hypotheses. We also study a weighted version of the configuration spaces parametrizing n points in affine space up to translation and homothety. In dimension one, the above compactifications are isomorphic to Hassett's moduli space of rational weighted stable curves.
