Abstract:We study a family of the Laurent biorthogonal polynomials arising from the Hermite continued fraction for a ratio of two complete elliptic integrals. Recurrence coefficients, explicit expression and the weight function for these polynomials are obtained. We construct also a new explicit example of the Szegö polynomials orthogonal on the unit circle. Relations with associated Legendre polynomials are considered.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
This paper attempts to explore the application of complex network theory in the study of human languages, mainly focusing on two directions: 1. **Networks within the language system**: Researchers have constructed various lexical networks based on different relationships between words (such as semantic or syntactic relationships). Recent studies have shown that these lexical networks exhibit small - world and scale - free characteristics. These findings reveal the global structural features of the mental lexicon, which cannot be detected in traditional semantic network analysis. Therefore, studying the mental lexicon and the overall structure of language from a network perspective has attracted more interest. 2. **Social networks of language users**: Another exploration direction is to study the social networks among language users and their roles in language evolution. Social networks also exhibit small - world and scale - free characteristics, which cannot be captured by random or regular network models. In the past, computational models of language change and language emergence usually assumed that the population structure was random or regular, and rarely discussed how network structures affect dynamic processes. In the second part of the paper, the author shows the importance of different types of social networks for the diffusion of language innovations through a series of simulation models, and compares four types of social networks, showing two different types of diffusion dynamics characteristics. Although the question of which type of network is more suitable for modeling still needs further study, the author provides some preliminary suggestions for choosing the appropriate type of social network for modeling. Overall, this paper aims to use complex network theory to re - examine the internal structure of the language system and the interaction patterns among language users, thereby providing new perspectives and methods for linguistic research.
