Abstract:For a metric space $(K,d)$ the Banach space $\Lip(K)$ consists of all scalar-valued bounded Lipschitz functions on $K$ with the norm $\|f\|_{L}=\max(\|f\|_{\infty},L(f))$, where $L(f)$ is the Lipschitz constant of $f$. The closed subspace $\lip(K)$ of $\Lip(K)$ contains all elements of $\Lip(K)$ satisfying the $\lip$-condition $\lim_{0<d(x,y)\to 0}|f(x)-f(y)|/d(x,y)=0$. For $K=([0,1],| {\cdot} |^{\alpha})$, $0<\alpha<1$, we prove that $\lip(K)$ is a proper $M$-ideal in a certain subspace of $\Lip(K)$ containing a copy of $\ell^{\infty}$.

Abstract:The main result is that the only non trivial closed ideal in the Banach algebra $L(L^p)$ of bounded linear operators on $L^p(0,1)$, $1\le p < \infty$, that has a left approximate identity is the ideal of compact operators. The algebra $L(L^1)$ has at least one non trivial closed ideal that has a contractive right approximate identity as well as many, including the unique maximal ideal, that do not have a right approximate identity.

Abstract:We characterize $M$-ideals in order smooth $\infty$-normed spaces by extending the notion of split faces of the state space to those of the quasi-state space. We also characterize approximate order unit spaces as those order smooth $\infty$-normed spaces $V$ that are $M$-ideals in $\tilde{V}.$ Here $\tilde{V}$ is the order unit space obtained by adjoining an order unit to $V.$ To prove these results, we develop an order theoretic version of the "Alfsen-Efffros' cone decomposition theorem" for order smooth $1$-normed spaces. (As a quick application of this result, we sharpen a result on the extension of bounded positive linear functionals on subspaces of order smooth $\infty$-normed spaces.)

It is shown that the non-tangential maximal operator $$f\mapsto N(f)(\xi)=\sup_{z\in\Gamma(\xi)}|f(z)|,\quad \xi\in \mathbb{D},$$ is bounded from $AL^q_p(\omega)=L^q_p(\omega)\cap\mathcal{H}(\mathbb{D})$ and $AT^q_p(\omega)=T^q_p(\omega)\cap\mathcal{H}(\mathbb{D})$ to $L^q_p(\omega)$ and $T^q_p(\omega)$, respectively. These pivotal inequalities are used to establish further results such as the density of polynomials in $AL^q_p(\omega)$ and $AT^q_p(\omega)$, and the identity $AL^q_p(\omega)=AT^q_p(\omega)$ for weights admitting a one-sided integral doubling condition. It is also shown that the boundedness of the classical Bergman projection $P_\gamma$, induced by the standard weight $(\gamma+1)(1-|z|^2)^{\gamma}$, on $L^q_p(\omega)$ and $T^q_p(\omega)$ with $1<q,p<\infty$ is independent of $q$, and is described by a Bekollé-Bonami type condition.

Abstract:A new definition of analytic adjoint ideal sheaves for quasi-plurisubharmonic (quasi-psh) functions with only neat analytic singularities is studied and shown to admit some residue short exact sequences which are obtained by restricting sections of the newly defined adjoint ideal sheaves to some unions of $\sigma$-log-canonical ($\sigma$-lc) centres. The newly defined adjoint ideal sheaves induce naturally some residue $L^2$ norms on the unions of $\sigma$-lc centres which are invariant under log-resolutions. They can also describe unions of $\sigma$-lc centres without the need of log-resolutions even if the quasi-psh functions in question are not in a simple-normal-crossing configuration. This is hinting their potential use in discussing the $\sigma$-lc centres even when the quasi-psh functions in question have more general singularities. Furthermore, their relations between the algebraic adjoint ideal sheaves of Ein--Lazarsfeld as well as those of Hacon--McKernan are described in order to illustrate their role as a (potentially finer) measurement of singularities in the minimal model program. In the course of the study, a local $L^2$ extension theorem is proven, which shows that holomorphic sections on any unions of $\sigma$-lc centres can be extended holomorphically to some neighbourhood of the unions of $\sigma$-lc centres with some $L^2$ estimates. The proof does not rely on the techniques in the Ohsawa--Takegoshi-type $L^2$ extension theorems.

Abstract:We study a class of $\mathbb{Z}$-graded algebras introduced by Bell and Rogalski. Their construction generalizes in large part that of rank one generalized Weyl algebras (GWAs). We establish certain ring-theoretic properties of these algebras and study their connection to GWAs. We classify the simple weight modules in the infinite orbit case and provide a partial classification in the case of orbits of finite order.

Abstract:We work in the Baire space $\mathbb{Z}^\omega$ equipped with the coordinate-wise addition $+$. Consider a $\sigma-$ideal $\mathcal{I}$ and a family $\mathbb{T}$ of some kind of perfect trees. We are interested in results of the form: for every $A\in \mathcal{I}$ and a tree $T\in\mathbb{T}$ there exists $T'\in \mathbb{T}, T'\subseteq T$ such that $A+\underbrace{[T']+[T']+\dots +[T']}_{\text{n--times}}\in \mathcal{I}$ for each $n\in\omega$. Explored tree types include perfect trees, uniformly perfect trees, Miller trees, Laver trees and $\omega-$Silver trees. The latter kind of trees is an analogue of Silver trees from the Cantor space. Besides the standard $\sigma$-ideal $\mathcal{M}$ of meager sets, we also analyze $\mathcal{M}_-$ and fake null sets $\mathcal{N}$. The latter two are born out of the characterizations of their respective analogues in the Cantor space. The key ingredient in proofs were combinatorial characterizations of these ideals in the Baire space.

Weak c-ideals of Leibniz algebras

Abstract:A subalgebra $B$ of a Leibniz algebra $L$ is called a weak c-ideal of $L$ if there is a subideal $C$ of $L$ such that $L=B+C$ and $B\cap C\subseteq B_{L}$ where $B_{L}$ is the largest ideal of $L$ contained in $B.$ This is analogous to the concept of a weakly c-normal subgroup, which has been studied by a number of authors. We obtain some properties of weak c-ideals and use them to give some characterisations of solvable and supersolvable Leibniz algebras generalising previous results for Lie algebras. We note that one-dimensional weak c-ideals are c-ideals, and show that a result of Turner classifying Leibniz algebras in which every one-dimensional subalgebra is a c-ideal is false for general Leibniz algebras, but holds for symmetric ones.

Almost real closed fields with real analytic structure

Abstract:Cluckers and Lipshitz have shown that real closed fields equipped with real analytic structure are o-minimal. This generalizes the well-known subanalytic structure $\mathbb{R}_{\mathrm{an}}$ on the real numbers. We extend this line of research by investigating ordered fields with real analytic structure that are not necessarily real closed. When considered in a language with a symbol for a convex valuation ring, these structures turn out to be tame as valued fields: we prove that they are $\omega$-h-minimal. Additionally, our approach gives a precise description of the induced structure on the residue field and the value group, and naturally leads to an Ax--Kochen--Ersov-theorem for fields with real analytic structure.

Abstract:Since bipolar quantum linear algebra (BQLA), under two operations–-addition and multiplication—demonstrates the properties of semirings, and since ideals play an important role in abstract algebra, our results are compelling for the ideals of a semiring. In this article, we investigate the characteristics of ideals, principal ideals, prime ideals, maximal ideals, and the smallest ideal containing any nonempty subset. By applying elementary real analysis, particularly the infimum, our main result is stated as follows: for any closed set I in BQLA, I is a nontrivial proper ideal if and only if there exists c∈(0,1] such that I=(−x,y)∈R2|cx≤y≤xcandx,y≥0. This shows that its shape has to be symmetric with the graph y=−x.

On a Banach algebra of entire functions with a weighted Hadamard multiplication

Abstract:New algebraic-analytic properties of a previously studied Banach algebra $\mathcal{A}({\bf{p}})$ of entire functions are established. For a given fixed sequence $(\bf{p}(n))_{n\geq 0}$ of positive real numbers, such that $\lim_{n\rightarrow \infty} {\bf{p}}(n)^{\frac{1}{n}}=\infty$, the Banach algebra $\mathcal{A}({\bf{p}})$ is the set of all entire functions $f$ such that $f(z)=\sum_{n=0}^\infty \hat{f}(n) z^n $ ($z\in \mathbb{C}$), where the sequence $(\hat{f}(n))_{n\geq 0}$ of Taylor coefficients of $f$ satisfies $\hat{f}(n)=O({\bf{p}}(n)^{-1})$ for $n\rightarrow \infty$, with pointwise addition and scalar multiplication, a weighted Hadamard multiplication $\ast$ with weight given by ${\bf{p}}$ (i.e., $(f\ast g)(z)=\sum_{n=0}^\infty {\bf{p}}(n) \hat{f}(n)\hat{g}(n)z^n$ for all $z\in \mathbb{C}$), and the norm $\|f\|=\sup_{n\geq 0} {\bf{p}}(n)|\hat{f}(n)|$. The following results are shown: The Bass and the topological stable ranks of $\mathcal{A}({\bf{p}})$ are both $1$. $\mathcal{A}({\bf{p}})$ is a Hermite ring, but not a projective-free ring. Idempotents and exponentials in $\mathcal{A}({\bf{p}})$ are described, and it is shown that every invertible element of $\mathcal{A}({\bf{p}})$ has a logarithm. A generalised necessary and sufficient `corona-type condition' on the matricial data $(A,b)$ with entries from $\mathcal{A}({\bf{p}})$ is given for the solvability of $Ax = b$ with $x$ also having entries from $\mathcal{A}({\bf{p}})$. The Krull dimension of $\mathcal{A}({\bf{p}})$ is infinite. $\mathcal{A}({\bf{p}})$ is neither Artinian nor Noetherian, but is coherent. The special linear group over $\mathcal{A}({\bf{p}})$ is generated by elementary matrices.

On the annihilator variety of a highest weight module for classical Lie algebras

Abstract:Let $\mathfrak{g}$ be a classical complex simple Lie algebra. Let $L(\lambda)$ be a highest weight module of $\mathfrak{g}$ with highest weight $\lambda-\rho$, where $\rho$ is half the sum of positive roots. The associated variety of the annihilator ideal of $L(\lambda)$ is called the annihilator variety of $L(\lambda)$.It is known that the annihilator variety of any highest weight module $L(\lambda)$ is the Zariski closure of a nilpotent orbit in $\mathfrak{g}^*$. But in general, this nilpotent orbit is not easy to describe for a given highest weight module $L(\lambda)$. In this paper, we will give some simple formulas to characterize this unique nilpotent orbit appearing in the annihilator variety of a highest weight module for classical Lie algebras. Our formulas are given by introducing two algorithms, i.e., bipartition algorithm and partition algorithm. To get a special or metaplectic special partition from a domino type partition, we define the H-algorithm based on the Robinson-Schensted insertion algorithm. By using this H-algorithm, we can easily determine this nilpotent orbit from the information of $\lambda$.

Abstract:In this paper, we present and characterize the injective hull of a two-Lipschitz operator ideals and the definition of two-Lipschitz dual operator ideal. Also we introduce two methods for creating ideals of two-Lipschitz operators from a pair of Lipschitz operator ideals. Namely, Lipschitzization and factorization method. We show the closedness, the injectivity and the symmetry of these two-Lipschitz ideals according to the closedness, injectivity and symmetry of the corresponding Lipschitz operator ideals. Some illustrative examples are given.

Abstract:We study the structure of weight modules $V$ with restrictions neither on the dimension nor on the base field, over split Lie algebras $L$. We show that if $L$ is perfect and $V$ satisfies $LV=V$ and ${\mathcal Z}(V)=0$, then $$\hbox{$L =\bigoplus\limits_{i\in I} I_{i}$ and $V = \bigoplus\limits_{j \in J} V_{j}$}$$ with any $I_{i}$ an ideal of $L$ satisfying $[I_{i},I_{k}]=0$ if $i \neq k$, and any $V_{j}$ a (weight) submodule of $V$ in such a way that for any $j \in J$ there exists a unique $i \in I$ such that $I_iV_j \neq 0,$ being $V_j$ a weight module over $I_i$. Under certain conditions, it is shown that the above decomposition of $V$ is by means of the family of its minimal submodules, each one being a simple (weight) submodule.

Abstract:Here we announce the construction and properties of a big commutative subalgebra of the Kirillov algebra attached to a finite dimensional irreducible representation of a complex semisimple Lie group. They are commutative finite flat algebras over the cohomology of the classifying space of the group. They are isomorphic with the equivariant intersection cohomology of affine Schubert varieties, endowing them with a new ring structure. Study of the finer aspects of the structure of the big algebras will also furnish the stalks of the intersection cohomology with ring structure, thus ringifying Lusztig's q-weight multiplicity polynomials i.e. affine Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomials.

Countable strongly annihilated ideals in commutative rings

Abstract:In this paper we introduce and study the concept of countable strongly annihilated ideal in commutative rings, in particular in rings of continuous functions. We show that a maximal ideal in $C(X)$ is countable strongly annihilated if and only if it is a real maximal $z^\circ$-ideal. It turns out that $X$ is an almost $P$-space if and only if countable strongly annihilated ideals and strongly divisible $z$-ideals coincide if and only if every $M_x$ is a countable strongly annihilated ideal, for any $x\in X$. We observe that an almost $P$-space $X$ is Lindelof if and only if every countable strongly annihilated ideal is fixed. We give a negative answer to a question raised by Gilmer and McAdam.

Abstract:The purpose of this article is proving the equality of two natural $\mathcal L$-invariants attached to the adjoint representation of a weigth one cusp form, each defined by purely analytic, respectively algebraic means. The proof departs from Greenberg's definition of the algebraic $\mathcal L$-invariant as a universal norm of a canonical $\mathbb{Z}_p$-extension of $\mathbb{Q}_p$ associated to the representation. We relate it to a certain $2\times 2$ regulator of $p$-adic logarithms of global units by means of class field theory, which we then show to be equal to the analytic $\mathcal L$-invariant computed by Rivero and the second author.
