Abstract:The simulations of the light scalar mesons on the lattice are presented at the introductory level. The methods for determining the scalar meson masses are described. The problems related to some of these methods are presented and their solutions discussed.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
This paper aims to solve the mode - locking dynamics problem of ultrashort pulses in Ti:sapphire lasers. Specifically, through one - dimensional numerical simulations, the author analyzes in detail the evolution and propagation dynamics of ultrashort laser pulses in Ti:sapphire laser oscillators. The study confirms the dispersion - managed mode - locking model and emphasizes the role of Kerr nonlinearity in generating mode - locked spectra with smooth and well - behaved spectral phases. The main contributions of the paper are as follows: 1. **Verification of the Dispersion - Managed Model**: Through detailed numerical simulations, the dispersion - managed mode - locking model is verified. This model explains how stable mode - locked pulses can be achieved through periodic positive and negative group - delay dispersion (GDD) changes. 2. **The Role of Kerr Nonlinearity**: The study emphasizes the importance of Kerr nonlinearity in generating mode - locked spectra with smooth spectral phases. Kerr nonlinearity leads to self - phase modulation (SPM), and the balanced action with group - delay dispersion (GDD) is the basis for generating short pulses. 3. **Consistency of Experimental Results**: The results of numerical simulations are highly consistent with the preliminary experimental measurement results, further validating the effectiveness of the theoretical model. 4. **Detailed Intra - Cavity Pulse Evolution**: The paper describes in detail the formation and propagation processes of pulses in the cavity, including the propagation of pulses in the crystal, reflection on the mirror, and the process through the negative - dispersion prism group. These details show how the spectra and phases of pulses evolve over time. Through these studies, the author not only verifies the dispersion - managed mode - locking model but also provides an important theoretical basis for the design and optimization of ultrafast Ti:sapphire lasers.
