Abstract:By using Andrews' explicit formulae of the q -Fibonacci sequence introduced by Schur, we prove certain congruences of the q -Fibonacci sequence which relate the sequence with the original Fibonacci sequence. As a corollary, we show that it yields a transcendental element in the -algebra of integers modulo arbitrarily large primes under the generalized Riemann hypothesis.

Abstract:The primary focus of this paper is overpartitions, a type of partition that plays a significant role in $q$-series theory. In 2006, Treneer discovered an explicit infinite family of congruences of overpartitions modulo $5$. In our research, we have identified explicit infinite families of congruences of overpartitions modulo $3,7,11$. This work reveals the connection between overpartitions and half-integral modular forms.

Abstract:In 2014, Wang and Cai established the following harmonic congruence for any odd prime [Formula: see text] and positive integer [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text] where [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] denote the set of positive integers which are prime to [Formula: see text]. In this paper, we obtain an unexpected congruence for distinct odd primes [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text] and positive integers [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text] and the necessary and sufficient condition for [Formula: see text] Finally, we raise a conjecture that for [Formula: see text] and odd prime power [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text] However, we fail to prove it even for [Formula: see text] with three distinct prime factors.

Abstract:Zhao established the following harmonic congruence for prime p > 3:Sigma(i,j,k>0i+j+k=p) 1/ijk equivalent to -2B(p-3) (mod p).In this note, the authors improve it to the following congruence for prime p > 5:Sigma(i,j,k>0i+j+k=p) 1/ijk equivalent to 12B(p-3)/p-3 - 3B(2p-4)/p-2 (mod p(2)).Meanwhile, they also improve a generalization of Zhao's congruence and extend Eisenstein's congruence.

Abstract:Consider the generalized Fibonacci sequence {qn}n=0∞ having initial conditions q0=0,q1=1 and recurrence relation qn=aqn-1+qn-2 (when n is even) or qn=bqn-1+qn-2 (when n is odd), where a and b are nonzero real numbers. These sequences arise in a natural way in the study of continued fractions of quadratic irrationals and combinatorics on words or dynamical system theory. Some well-known sequences are special cases of this generalization. The Fibonacci sequence is a special case of {qn} with a=b=1. Pell’s sequence is {qn} with a=b=2 and the k-Fibonacci sequence is {qn} with a=b=k. In this article, we study numerous new properties of these sequences and investigate a sequence closely related to these sequences which can be regarded as a generalization of Lucas sequence of the first kind.

Abstract:We consider the number π(x, y; q, a) of primes p ⩽ x such that p ≡ a (mod q) and (p − a)/q is free of prime factors greater than y. Assuming a suitable form of Elliott-Halberstam conjecture, it is proved that π(x, y; q, a) is asymptotic to ρ(log(x/q)/log y)π(x)/φ(q) on average, subject to certain ranges of y and q, where ρ is the Dickman function. Moreover, unconditional upper bounds are also obtained via sieve methods. As a typical application, we may control more effectively the number of shifted primes with large prime factors.
Curious congruences for Fibonacci numbers

Abstract:In this paper we establish some sophisticated congruences involving central binomial coefficients and Fibonacci numbers. For example, we show that if $p\not=2,5$ is a prime then $$\sum_{k=0}^{p-1}F_{2k}\binom{2k}{k}=(-1)^{[p/5]}(1-(p/5)) (mod p^2)$$ and $$\sum_{k=0}^{p-1}F_{2k+1}\binom{2k}k=(-1)^{[p/5]}(p/5) (mod p^2).$$ We also obtain similar results for some other second-order recurrences and raise several conjectures.

Abstract:Zhao established a curious congruence, i.e., for any prime p≥3,∑i+j+k=pi,j,k>01ijk≡−2Bp−3(modp). In this note we prove that for any prime p≥3 and positive integer r,∑i+j+k=pri,j,k∈Pp1ijk≡−2pr−1Bp−3(modpr), where Pn denotes the set of positive integers which are prime to n.

Abstract:We study some divisibility properties related to the factors of the discriminant of the characteristic polynomial of generalized Fibonacci sequences $(G_n)_{n\ge0}$ defined by $G_0=0$, $G_1=1$ and $G_n=pG_{n-1}+qG_{n-2}$ for $n\ge2$, where $p,q$ are given integers. As corollaries, we give some divisibility properties on some well known sequences.

Abstract:The generalized Euler number E_{n|k} counts the number of permutations of {1,2,...,n} which have a descent in position m if and only if m is divisible by k. The classical Euler numbers are the special case when k=2. In this paper, we study divisibility properties of a q-analog of E_{n|k}. In particular, we generalize two theorems of Andrews and Gessel about factors of the q-tangent numbers.

Abstract:Let {F(n)} be the Fibonacci sequence defined by F0 = 0, F1 = 1, F(n) + 1 = F(n) + F(n-1) (n greater-than-or-equal-to 1). It is well known that F(p-)(5/p) = 0 (mod p) for any odd prime p, where (-) denotes the Legendre symbol. In 1960 D.D. Wall [13] asked whether p2/F(p-)(5/p) is always impossible; up to now this is still open. In this paper the sum [GRAPHICS] is expressed in terms of Fibonacci numbers. As applications we obtain a new formula for the Fibonacci quotient F(p-)(5/p)/p and a criterion for the relation p/F(p-1)/4 (if p = 1 (mod 4)), where p not-equal 5 is an odd prime. We also prove that the affirmative answer to Wall's question implies the first case of FLT (Fermat's last theorem); from this it follows that the first case of FLT holds for those exponents which are (odd) Fibonacci primes or Lucas primes.

On $q$-deformed Farey sum and a homological interpretation of $q$-deformed real quadratic irrational numbers

Abstract:The left and right $q$-deformed rational numbers were introduced by Bapat, Becker and Licata via regular continued fractions, and they gave a homological interpretation for left and right $q$-deformed rational numbers. In the present paper, we focus on negative continued fractions and defined left $q$-deformed negative continued fractions. We give a formula for computing the $q$-deformed Farey sum of the left $q$-deformed rational numbers based on it. We use this formula to give a combinatorial proof of the relationship between the left $q$-deformed rational number and the Jones polynomial of the corresponding rational knot which was proved by Bapat, Becker and Licata using a homological technique. Finally, we combine their work and the $q$-deformed Farey sum, and give a homological interpretation of the $q$-deformed Farey sum. We also give an approach to finding a relationship between real quadratic irrational numbers and homological algebra.

Combinatorial Interpretations of $q$-Fibonacci Numbers and Their Binomial Analogues

Abstract:The Fibonomial coefficients are well-known analogues of the classical binomial coefficients. In 2009, Sagan and Savage introduced a combinatorial interpretation for these coefficients, based on tiling a rectangular grid. More recently, Bergeron extended this work by providing a similar interpretation for the q-Fibonomial coefficients, using weighted tilings of a rectangular grid. Inspired by Bennett's model, Bergeron also developed a staircase tiling model for the q-Fibonomial coefficients. While Bergeron's proofs for the rectangular grid model relied on induction, and the staircase model on bijective correspondences with the rectangular grid model, these approaches lacked deeper structural insights. In this paper, we propose a novel model for the q-Fibonacci numbers that generalizes Bergeron's approach. This new model not only enables us to prove several identities related to q-Fibonacci numbers but also provides a non-bijective proof for the staircase model of the q-Fibonomial coefficients, offering greater structural clarity. Additionally, we demonstrate new identities involving the q-Fibonomial coefficients using this refined rectangular grid model, further enhancing the combinatorial understanding of these mathematical objects.

Abstract:In the present paper, we introduce new families of the q-Fibonacci and q-Lucas polynomials, which are represented here as the incomplete q-Fibonacci polynomials F-n(k) (x, s, q) and the incomplete q-Lucas polynomials L-n(k) (x, s, q), respectively. These polynomials provide the q-analogues of the incomplete Fibonacci and Lucas numbers. We give several properties and generating functions of each of these families q-polynomials. We also point out the fact that the results for the q-analogues which we consider in this article for 0 < q < 1 can easily be translated into the corresponding results for the (p, q)-analogues (with 0 < q < p <= 1) by applying some obvious parametric variations, the additional parameter p being redundant.

Abstract:Related to generalized arithmetic triangle, we introduce the hyper ( r , q )-Fibonacci polynomials as the sum of these elements along a finite ray starting from a specific point, which generalize the hyper-Fibonacci polynomials. We give generating function, recurrence relations and we show some properties whose application allows us to extend the notion of Cassini determinant and to study some ratios. Moreover, we derive a connection between these polynomials and the incomplete ( r , q )-Fibonacci polynomials defined in this paper.

Abstract:Permutation polynomials have been studied for a long time and have important applications in cryptography, coding theory and combinatorial designs. In this paper, by means of the multivariate method and the resultant, we propose four new classes of permutation quadrinomials over F q 3 , where q is a prime power. We also show that they are not quasi-multiplicative equivalent to known ones. Moreover, we compare their differential uniformity with that of some known classes of permutation trinomials for some small q.
