Abstract:By using Girsanov transformation and martingale representation, Talagrand-type transportation cost inequalities, with respect to both the uniform and the $L^2$ distances on the global free path space, are established for the segment process associated to a class of neutral functional stochastic differential equations. Neutral functional stochastic partial differential equations are also investigated.

Abstract:We study concentration properties for laws of non-linear Gaussian functionals on metric spaces. Our focus lies on measures with non-Gaussian tail behaviour which are beyond the reach of Talagrand's classical Transportation-Cost Inequalities (TCIs). Motivated by solutions of Rough Differential Equations and relying on a suitable contraction principle, we prove generalised TCIs for functionals that arise in the theory of regularity structures and, in particular, in the cases of rough volatility and the two-dimensional Parabolic Anderson Model. In doing so, we also extend existing results on TCIs for diffusions driven by Gaussian processes.

Abstract:In this paper, one investigates the following type of transportation-information $T_cI$ inequalities: $\alpha(T_c(\nu,\mu))\le I(\nu|\mu)$ for all probability measures $\nu$ on some metric space $(\XX, d)$, where $\mu$ is a given probability measure, $T_c(\nu,\mu)$ is the transportation cost from $\nu$ to $\mu$ with respect to some cost function $c(x,y)$ on $\XX^2$, $I(\nu|\mu)$ is the Fisher-Donsker-Varadhan information of $\nu$ with respect to $\mu$ and $\alpha: [0,\infty)\to [0,\infty]$ is some left continuous increasing function. Using large deviation techniques, it is shown that $T_cI$ is equivalent to some concentration inequality for the occupation measure of a $\mu$-reversible ergodic Markov process related to $I(\cdot|\mu)$, a counterpart of the characterizations of transportation-entropy inequalities, recently obtained by Gozlan and L\'eonard in the i.i.d. case . Tensorization properties of $T_cI$ are also derived.
Asymptotics for Random Quadratic Transportation Costs

Abstract:We establish the validity of asymptotic limits for the general transportation problem between random i.i.d. points and their common distribution, with respect to the squared Euclidean distance cost, in any dimension larger than three. Previous results were essentially limited to the two (or one) dimensional case, or to distributions whose absolutely continuous part is uniform. The proof relies upon recent advances in the stability theory of optimal transportation, combined with functional analytic techniques and some ideas from quantitative stochastic homogenization. The key tool we develop is a quantitative upper bound for the usual quadratic optimal transportation problem in terms of its boundary variant, where points can be freely transported along the boundary. The methods we use are applicable to more general random measures, including occupation measure of Brownian paths, and may open the door to further progress on challenging problems at the interface of analysis, probability, and discrete mathematics.

Abstract:Let M be a complete Riemannian manifold and μ the distribution of the diffusion process generated by 12(Δ+Z) where Z is a C1-vector field. Abstract:The duality theory of the Monge-Kantorovich transport problem is investigated in an abstract measure theoretic framework. Let $(\mathcal{X},\mathcal{F},\mu)$ and $(\mathcal{Y},\mathcal{G},\nu)$ be any probability spaces and $c:\mathcal{X}\times\mathcal{Y}\rightarrow\mathbb{R}$ a measurable cost function such that $f_1+g_1\le c\le f_2+g_2$ for some $f_1,\,f_2\in L_1(\mu)$ and $g_1,\,g_2\in L_1(\nu)$. Define $\alpha(c)=\inf_P\int c\,dP$ and $\alpha^*(c)=\sup_P\int c\,dP$, where $\inf$ and $\sup$ are over the probabilities $P$ on $\mathcal{F}\otimes\mathcal{G}$ with marginals $\mu$ and $\nu$. Some duality theorems for $\alpha(c)$ and $\alpha^*(c)$, not requiring $\mu$ or $\nu$ to be perfect, are proved. As an example, suppose $\mathcal{X}$ and $\mathcal{Y}$ are metric spaces and $\mu$ is separable. Then, duality holds for $\alpha(c)$ (for $\alpha^*(c)$) provided $c$ is upper-semicontinuous (lower-semicontinuous). Moreover, duality holds for both $\alpha(c)$ and $\alpha^*(c)$ if the maps $x\mapsto c(x,y)$ and $y\mapsto c(x,y)$ are continuous, or if $c$ is bounded and $x\mapsto c(x,y)$ is continuous. This improves the existing results in \cite{RR1995} if $c$ satisfies the quoted conditions and the cardinalities of $\mathcal{X}$ and $\mathcal{Y}$ do not exceed the continuum.

Abstract:We construct non-commutative analogs of transport maps among free Gibbs state satisfying a certain convexity condition. Unlike previous constructions, our approach is non-perturbative in nature and thus can be used to construct transport maps between free Gibbs states associated to potentials which are far from quadratic, i.e., states which are far from the semicircle law. An essential technical ingredient in our approach is the extension of free stochastic analysis to non-commutative spaces of functions based on the Haagerup tensor product.

Abstract:We formulate an optimal transport problem for matrix-valued density functions. This is pertinent in the spectral analysis of multivariable time-series. The "mass" represents energy at various frequencies whereas, in addition to a usual transportation cost across frequencies, a cost of rotation is also taken into account. We show that it is natural to seek the transportation plan in the tensor product of the spaces for the two matrix-valued marginals. In contrast to the classical Monge-Kantorovich setting, the transportation plan is no longer supported on a thin zero-measure set.

Abstract:We study dynamical optimal transport metrics between density matrices associated to symmetric Dirichlet forms on finite-dimensional $C^*$-algebras. Our setting covers arbitrary skew-derivations and it provides a unified framework that simultaneously generalizes recently constructed transport metrics for Markov chains, Lindblad equations, and the Fermi Ornstein--Uhlenbeck semigroup. We develop a non-nommutative differential calculus that allows us to obtain non-commutative Ricci curvature bounds, logarithmic Sobolev inequalities, transport-entropy inequalities, and spectral gap estimates.

Abstract:We present a particular formulation of optimal transport for matrix-valued density functions. Our aim is to devise a geometry which is suitable for comparing power spectral densities of multivariable time series. More specifically, the value of a power spectral density at a given frequency, which in the matricial case encodes power as well as directionality, is thought of as a proxy for a "matrix-valued mass density." Optimal transport aims at establishing a natural metric in the space of such matrix-valued densities which takes into account differences between power across frequencies as well as misalignment of the corresponding principle axes. Thus, our transportation cost includes a cost of transference of power between frequencies together with a cost of rotating the principle directions of matrix densities. The two endpoint matrix-valued densities can be thought of as marginals of a joint matrix-valued density on a tensor product space. This joint density, very much as in the classical Monge-Kantorovich setting, can be thought to specify the transportation plan. Contrary to the classical setting, the optimal transport plan for matrices is no longer supported on a thin zero-measure set.

Optimal plans are composition of a deterministic transport given by the gradient of a continuously differentiable convex function followed by a martingale coupling. Abstract:We investigate the transportation cost-information inequalities for bifurcating Markov chains which are a class of processes indexed by binary tree. These processes provide models for cell growth when each individual in one generation gives birth to two offsprings in the next one. Transportation cost inequalities provide useful concentra-tion inequalities. We also study deviation inequalities for the empiri-cal means under relaxed assumptions on the Wasserstein contraction of the Markov kernels. Applications to bifurcating non linear autore-gressive processes are considered: deviation inequalities for pointwise estimates of the non linear leading functions.

Abstract:In this paper, following the recent work of Fathi (2018) in the classical case, we provide by two different methods a sharp symmetrized free Talagrand inequality for the semicircular law, which improves the free TCI of Biane and Voiculescu (2000). The first proof holds only in the one-dimensional case and has the advantage of providing a connection with the machinery of free moment maps introduced by Bahr and Boschert (2023) and a free reverse Log-Sobolev inequality. This case also and sheds light on a dual formulation via the free version of the functional Blaschke-Santalo inequality. The second proof gives the result in a multidimensional setting and relies on a random matrix approximation approach developed by Biane (2003), Hiai, Petz and Ueda (2004) combined with Fathi's inequality on Euclidean spaces.
