Abstract:In the study of the continuity of the Lyapunov exponent for the discrete quasi-periodic Schrodinger operators, there is a pioneering result by Wang-You [ 21 ] that the authors constructed examples whose Lyapunov exponent is discontinuous in the potential with the \begin{document}$ C^0 $\end{document} norm for non-analytic potentials. In this paper, we consider this operators for some Gevrey potential, which is an analytic function having a Gevrey small perturbation, with Diophantine frequency. We prove that in the large coupling regions, the Lyapunov exponent is positive and jointly continuous in all parameters, such as the energy, the frequency and the potential. Note that all analytic functions are also Gevrey ones. Therefore, we also obtain that all of the large analytic potentials are the non-perturbative weak Holder continuous points of the Lyapunov exponent in the Gevrey topology with \begin{document}$ C^0 $\end{document} norm. It is the first result about the continuity in non-analytic potential with this norm and is complementary to Wang-You's result.

Abstract:Avila and Jitomirskaya prove that the quasi-periodic Schrödinger operator H_λ v,α,θ has purely absolutely continuous spectrum for α in sub-exponential regime (i.e., β(α)=0) with small λ, if v is real analytic in a strip of real axis. In the present paper, we show that for all α with 0<β(α)<∞, H_λ v,α,θ has purely absolutely continuous spectrum with small λ, if v is real analytic in strip | x|< Cβ, where C is a large absolute constant.

Abstract:We prove that the quasi-periodic Schrödinger operator with a finitely differentiable potential has purely absolutely continuous spectrum for all phases if the frequency is Diophantine and the potential is sufficiently small in the corresponding $C^k$ topology. This is based on a refined quantitative $C^{k,k_0}$ almost reducibility theorem which only requires a quite low initial regularity ``$k>14\tau+2$'' and much of the regularity ``$k_0\leq k-2\tau-2$'' is conserved in the end, where $\tau$ is the Diophantine constant of the frequency.

Abstract:We show that a generic quasi-periodic Schrödinger operator in $L^2(\mathbb{R})$ has purely singular spectrum. That is, for any minimal translation flow on a finite-dimensional torus, there is a residual set of continuous sampling functions such that for each of these sampling functions, the Schrödinger operator with the resulting potential has empty absolutely continuous spectrum.

Abstract:We consider kernel operators defined by a dynamical system. The Hausdorff distance of spectra is estimated by the Hausdorff distance of subsystems. We prove that the spectrum map is $ \frac{1}{2} $-Hölder continuous provided the group action and kernel are Lipschitz continuous and the group has strict polynomial growth. Also, we prove that the continuity can be improved resulting in the spectrum map being Lipschitz continuous provided the kernel is instead locally-constant. This complements a 1990 result by J.~Avron; P.H.M.v.~Mouche; B.~Simon establishing that one-dimensional discrete quasiperiodic Schrödinger operators with Lipschitz continuous potentials, e.g., the Almost Mathieu Operator, exhibit spectral $ \frac{1}{2} $-Hölder continuity. Also, this complements a 2019 result by S.~Beckus; J.~Bellissard; H.~Cornean establishing that $ d $-dimensional discrete subshift Schrödinger operators with locally-constant potentials, e.g., the Fibonacci Hamiltonian, exhibit spectral Lipschitz continuity. Our work exposes the connection between the past two results, and the group, e.g., the Heisenberg group, needs not be the integer lattice nor abelian.

Abstract:This paper blends two techniques recently developed in [2] and [3] to prove the presence of absolutely continuous spectrum for the multidimensional Schrodinger operator provided that the potential is summable over trajectory with positive probability. These trajectories are defined by Ito's equation and escape to infinity almost surely.

Abstract:We consider discrete Schr"odinger operators on the line with potentials generated by a minimal homeomorphism on a compact metric space and a continuous sampling function. We introduce the concepts of topological and metric repetition property. Assuming that the underlying dynamical system satisfies one of these repetition properties, we show using Gordon's Lemma that for a generic continuous sampling function, the associated Schr"odinger operators have no eigenvalues in a topological or metric sense, respectively. We present a number of applications, particularly to shifts and skew-shifts on the torus.

Abstract:We establish necessary and sufficient conditions for the discreteness of spectrum and strict positivity of magnetic Schrödinger operators with a positive scalar potential. They are expressed in terms of Wiener's capacity and the local energy of the magnetic field. The conditiions for the discreteness of spectrum depend, in particular, on a functional parameter which is a decreasing function of one variable whose argument is the normalized local energy of the magnetic field. This function enters the negligibility condition of sets for the scalar potential. We give a description for the range of all admissible functions which is precise in a certain sense. In case when there is no magnetic field, our results extend the discreteness of spectrum and positivity criteria by Molchanov [Molchanov, A. M. (1953). On the discreteness of the spectrum conditions for self-adjoint differential equations of the second order (Russian). Trudy Mosk. Matem. Obshchestva (Proc. Moscow Math. Abstract:We study discrete quasiperiodic Schrödinger operators on ℓ2(Z)$${\ell^2(\mathbb{Z})}$$ with potentials defined by γ-Hölder functions. We prove a general statement that for γ > 1/2 and under the condition of positive Lyapunov exponents, measure of the spectrum at irrational frequencies is the limit of measures of spectra of periodic approximants. An important ingredient in our analysis is a general result on uniformity of convergence from above in the subadditive ergodic theorem for strictly ergodic cocycles.

Abstract:Avila and Jitomirskaya prove that the spectral measure mu(f)(lambda nu,alpha,chi) of quasi-periodic Schrodinger operator is 1/2-Holder continuous with appropriate initial vector f, if alpha satisfies Diophantine condition and lambda is small. In the present paper, the conclusion is extended to that for all alpha with beta(alpha) < infinity, the spectral measure mu(f)(lambda nu,alpha,chi) is 1/2-Holder continuous with small lambda, if nu is real analytic in a neighbor of {vertical bar Ix vertical bar <= C beta}, where C is a large absolute constant. Abstract:We consider a Brans-Dicke cosmology in five-dimensional space-time. Neglecting the quadratic and the mixed Brans-Dicke terms in the Einstein equation, we derive a modified wave equation of the Brans-Dicke field. We show that, at high energy limit, the 3-brane Brans-Dicke cosmology could be described as the standard one by changing the equation of state. Finally as an illustration of the purpose, we show that the dark energy component of the universe agrees with the observations data.
