Abstract:EBV infects epithelial cells and B lymphocytes, integrating its proteins into the host cell's proteins, contributing to leukoplastic lesions. A female patient, 58 years old, presented with a leukoerythroplastic lesion characterized by irregular edges, measuring approximately 4cm at its largest diameter, located in the anterior gingiva between teeth 42 and 44. The lesion had been evolving over a period of three years, showed a negative Nikolski sign, and the initial diagnostic suspicion was leukoplakia.
