Abstract:Consistent Hamiltonian interactions that can be added to an abelian free BF-type class of theories in any n greater or equal to 4 spacetime dimensions are constructed in the framework of the Hamiltonian BRST deformation based on cohomological techniques. The resulting model is an interacting field theory in higher dimensions with an open algebra of on-shell reducible first-class constraints. We argue that the Hamiltonian couplings are related to a natural structure of Poisson manifold on the target space.

Abstract:We obtain a new interpretation of the cohomological Hall algebra of a symmetric quiver Q in the context of the theory of vertex algebras. Namely, we show that the graded dual of is naturally identified with the underlying vector space of the principal free vertex algebra associated to the Euler form of Q. Properties of that vertex algebra are shown to account for the key results about . In particular, it has a natural structure of a vertex bialgebra, leading to a new interpretation of the product of . Moreover, it is isomorphic to the universal enveloping vertex algebra of a certain vertex Lie algebra, which leads to a new interpretation of Donaldson–Thomas invariants of Q (and, in particular, re-proves their positivity). Finally, it is possible to use that vertex algebra to give a new interpretation of CoHA modules made of cohomologies of non-commutative Hilbert schemes.

We also establish GW-invariants for a family of symplectic manifolds. As a consequence, we prove Arnold conjecture for nondegenerate Hamiltonian symplectomorphisms.

Abstract:In this paper, we study and build the Hamiltonian system attached to any $\mathfrak{gl}_2(\mathbb{C})$ meromorphic connection with arbitrary number of non-ramified poles of arbitrary degrees. In particular, we propose the Lax pairs and Hamiltonian evolutions expressed in terms of irregular times and monodromies associated to the poles as well as $g$ Darboux coordinates defined as the apparent singularities arising in the oper gauge. Moreover, we also provide a reduction of the isomonodromic deformations to a subset of $g$ non-trivial isomonodromic deformations. This reduction is equivalent to a map reducing the set of irregular times to only $g$ non-trivial isomonodromic times. We apply our construction to all cases where the associated spectral curve has genus 1 and recover the standard Painlevé equations. We finally make the connection with the topological recursion and the quantization of classical spectral curve from this perspective.

We determine the refinement of holonomies necessary to describe the boundary conditions of open amplitudes (which in particular satisfy the required integrality properties). Abstract:We construct a new class of quantum vertex algebras associated with the normalized Yang R -matrix. They are obtained as Yangian deformations of certain -commutative quantum vertex algebras, and their -locality takes the form of a single RTT -relation. We establish some preliminary results on their representation theory and then further investigate their braiding map. In particular, we show that its fixed points are closely related with Bethe subalgebras in the Yangian quantization of the Poisson algebra , which were recently introduced by Krylov and Rybnikov. Finally, we extend this construction of commutative families to the case of trigonometric R -matrix of type A .

Going to the Other Side via the Resurgent Bridge

Abstract:Using resurgent analysis we offer a novel mathematical perspective on a curious bijection (duality) that has many potential applications ranging from the theory of vertex algebras to the physics of SCFTs in various dimensions, to q-series invariants in low-dimensional topology that arise, e.g. in Vafa-Witten theory and in non-perturbative completion of complex Chern-Simons theory. In particular, we introduce explicit numerical algorithms that efficiently implement this bijection. This bijection is founded on preservation of relations, a fundamental property of resurgent functions. Using resurgent analysis we find new structures and patterns in complex Chern-Simons theory on closed hyperbolic 3-manifolds obtained by surgeries on hyperbolic twist knots. The Borel plane exhibits several intriguing hints of a new form of integrability. An important role in this analysis is played by the twisted Alexander polynomials and the adjoint Reidemeister torsion, which help us determine the Stokes data. The method of singularity elimination enables extraction of geometric data even for very distant Borel singularities, leading to detailed non-perturbative information from perturbative data. We also introduce a new double-scaling limit to probe 0-surgeries from the limiting $r\to\infty$ behavior of 1/r surgeries, and apply it to the family of hyperbolic twist knots.

Equivalence Relations on Vertex Operator Algebras, II: Witt Equivalence and Orbifolds

Abstract:When can two strongly rational vertex operator algebras or 1+1d rational conformal field theories (RCFTs) be related by topological manipulations? For vertex operator algebras, the term "topological manipulations" refers to operations like passing to a conformal extension or restricting to a conformal subalgebra; for RCFTs, topological manipulations include operations like gauging (or orbifolding) a finite subpart of a generalized global symmetry or interpolating to a new theory via a topological line interface of finite quantum dimension. Inspired by results in the theory of even lattices, and also the theory of tensor categories, we say that two strongly rational vertex operator algebras are Witt equivalent if their central charges agree and if their representation categories are Witt equivalent as modular tensor categories. Two RCFTs are said to be Witt equivalent if their central charges agree and if their associated 2+1d topological field theories can be separated by a topological surface. We argue that Witt equivalence is necessary for two theories to be related by topological manipulations. We conjecture that it is also sufficient, and give proofs in various special cases. We relate this circle of ideas to the problem of classifying RCFTs, and to lore concerning deformation classes of quantum field theories. We use the notion of Witt equivalence to argue, assuming the conjectural classification of unitary, $c=1$ RCFTs, that all of the finite global symmetries of the $\mathrm{SU}(2)_1$ Wess-Zumino-Witten model are invertible. Finally, we sketch a "quantum Galois theory" for chiral CFTs, which generalizes prior mathematical literature by incorporating non-invertible symmetries; we illustrate this non-invertible Galois theory in the context of the monster CFT, for which we produce a Fibonacci symmetry.

Brane involutions on irreducible holomorphic symplectic manifolds

Abstract:In the context of irreducible holomorphic symplectic manifolds, we say that (anti)holomorphic (anti)symplectic involutions are brane involutions since their fixed point locus is a brane in the physicists' language, i.e. a submanifold which is either complex or lagrangian submanifold with respect to each of the three Kähler structures of the associated hyperkähler structure. Starting from a brane involution on a K3 or abelian surface, one can construct a natural brane involution on its moduli space of sheaves. We study these natural involutions and their relation with the Fourier--Mukai transform. Later, we recall the lattice-theoretical approach to Mirror Symmetry. We provide two ways of obtaining a brane involution on the mirror and we study the behaviour of the brane involutions under both mirror transformations, giving examples in the case of a K3 surface and $K3^{[2]}$-type manifolds.

Abstract:In this paper we construct a twisted version of quasi-elliptic cohomology. This theory can be constructed as a K-theory of a loop space. After establishing basic properties of the theory, including restriction, change-of-group and induction maps, we construct the Chern character map. And we compute the twisted quasi-elliptic cohomology theories of representation 4-spheres acted by the finite subgroups of SU(2), which, as conjectured by Sati and Schreiber, can produce good observables on M-brane charge in a Tate-elliptic enhancement of D-brane charge in twisted equivariant K-theory.

On a symplectic generalization of a Hirzebruch problem

Abstract:Motivated by a problem of Hirzebruch, we study $8$-dimensional, closed, symplectic manifolds having a Hamiltonian torus action with isolated fixed points and second Betti number equal to $1$. Such manifolds are automatically positive monotone. Our main result concerns those endowed with a Hamiltonian $T^2$-action and fourth Betti number equal to $2$. We classify their isotropy data, (equivariant) cohomology rings and (equivariant) Chern classes, and prove that they agree with those of certain explicit Fano $4$-folds with torus actions. Moreover, under more general assumptions, we prove several finiteness results concerning Betti and Chern numbers of $8$-dimensional, positive monotone symplectic manifolds with a Hamiltonian torus action.

Abstract:We propose a method for extracting the Higgs and Coulomb branches of a three-dimensional N = 4 quantum field theory from the algebra of local operators in its holomorphic-topological twist using the formalism of raviolo vertex algebras. Our construction parallels that of the chiral ring and twisted chiral ring of an N = 2 superconformal vertex operator algebra.

Abstract:The BRST structure of the extended Bondi-Metzner-Sachs symmetry group of asymptotically flat manifolds is investigated using the recently introduced framework of the Beltrami field parametrization of four-dimensional metrics. The latter identifies geometrically the two physical degrees of freedom of the graviton as fundamental fields. The graded BRST BMS4 nilpotent differential operator relies on four horizontality conditions giving a Lagrangian reformulation of the asymptotic BMS4 symmetry. A series of cocycles is found which indicate the possibility of anomalies for three-dimensional Lagrangian theories to be built in the null boundaries of asymptotically flat spaces from the principle of BRST BMS4 invariance.

Free field realisation of boundary vertex algebras for Abelian gauge theories in three dimensions

Abstract:We study the boundary vertex algebras of $A$-twisted $\mathcal{N}=4$ Abelian gauge theories in three dimensions. These are identified with the BRST quotient (semi-infinite cohomology) of collections of symplectic bosons and free fermions that reflect the matter content of the corresponding gauge theory. We develop various free field realisations for these vertex algebras which we propose to interpret in terms of their localisation on their associated varieties. We derive the free field realisations by bosonising the elementary symplectic bosons and free fermions and then calculating the relevant semi-infinite cohomology, which can be done systematically. An interesting feature of our construction is that for certain preferred free field realisations, the outer automorphism symmetry of the vertex algebras in question (which are identified with the symmetries of the Coulomb branch in the infrared) are made manifest.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the Kauffman bracket skein module of closed oriented three-manifolds at a non-multiple-of-four roots of unity. Our main result establishes that the localization of this module at a maximal ideal, which corresponds to an irreducible representation of the fundamental group of the manifold, forms a one-dimensional free module over the localized unreduced coordinate ring of the character variety. We apply this by proving that the dimension of the skein module of a homology sphere with finite character variety, when the order of the root of unity is not divisible by $4$, is greater than or equal to the dimension of the unreduced coordinate ring of the character variety. This leads to a computation of the dimension of the skein module with coefficients in rational functions for homology spheres with tame universal skein module.
