Abstract:For three-partition triple Hodge integrals related to the topological vertex, we derive Eynard-Orantin type recursion relations from the cut-and-join equation. This establishes a version of local mirror symmetry for the local $C^3$ geometry with three D-branes, as proposed by Marino and Bouchard-Klemm-Marino-Pasquetti.

Abstract:We describe the applications of localization methods, in particular the functorial localization formula, in the proofs of several conjectures from string theory. The functorial localization formula pushes the computations on complicated moduli spaces to simple moduli spaces. It is a key technique in the proof of the general mirror formula, the proof of the Hori-Vafa formula for explicit expressions of basic hypergeornetric series of homogeneous manifolds, and the proof of the Marino-Vafa formula for Hodge integrals. The proposal of Strominger-Yau-Zaslow of mirror symmetry will also be discussed.

Abstract:We show how the Landau-Ginzburg/Calabi-Yau correspondence for the quintic three-fold can be cast into a global mirror symmetry framework. Then we draw inspiration from Berglund-H\"ubsch mirror duality construction to provide an analogue conjectural picture featuring all Calabi-Yau hypersurfaces within weighted projective spaces and certain quotients by finite abelian group actions.

Abstract:Applying the technique of $p$-adic integration, we prove the topological mirror symmetry conjecture of Hausel-Thaddeus for the moduli spaces of (strongly) parabolic Higgs bundles for the structure groups $\text{SL}_n$ and $\text{PGL}_n$, building on previous work of Groechenig-Wyss-Ziegler on the non-parabolic case. We also prove the $E$-polynomial of the smooth moduli space of parabolic $\text{GL}_n$-Higgs bundles is independent of the degree of the underlying vector bundles.

Abstract:The Remodeling Conjecture proposed by Bouchard-Klemm-Marino-Pasquetti (BKMP) relates the A-model open and closed topological string amplitudes (open and closed Gromov-Witten invariants) of a symplectic toric Calabi-Yau 3-fold to Eynard-Orantin invariants of its mirror curve. The Remodeling Conjecture can be viewed as a version of all genus open-closed mirror symmetry. After a brief review on mirror symmetry and topological strings on Calabi-Yau geometry, we give a non-technical exposition of our results on the Remodeling Conjecture for toric Calabi-Yau 3-orbifolds.

Abstract:Mirror Symmetry for a large class of three dimensional $\mathcal{N}=4$ supersymmetric gauge theories has a natural explanation in terms of M-theory compactified on a product of $\text{ALE}$ spaces. A pair of such mirror duals can be described as two different deformations of the eleven-dimensional supergravity background $\mathcal{M}=\mathbb{R}^{2,1} \times \text{ALE}_{1} \times \text{ALE}_{2}$, to which they flow in the deep IR. Using the $A-D-E$ classification of $\text{ALE}$ spaces, we present a neat way to catalogue dual quiver gauge theories that arise in this fashion. In addition to the well-known examples studied in \cite{Intriligator:1996ex}, \cite{deBoer:1996mp}, this procedure leads to new sets of dual theories. For a certain subset of dual theories which arise from the aforementioned M-theory background with an $A$-type $\text{ALE}_{1}$ and a $D$-type $\text{ALE}_2$, we verify the duality explicitly by a computation of partition functions of the theories on $S^3$, using localization techniques . We derive the relevant mirror map and discuss its agreement with predictions from the Type IIB brane construction for these theories.

Boundaries & Localisation with a Topological Twist

Abstract:We study the partition functions of topologically twisted 3d $\mathcal{N}=2$ gauge theories on a hemisphere spacetime with boundary $HS^2 \times S^1$. We show that the partition function may be localised to either the Higgs branch or the Coulomb branch where the contributions to the path integral are vortex or monopole configurations respectively. Turning to $\mathcal{N}=4$ supersymmetry, we consider partition functions for exceptional Dirichlet boundary conditions that yield a complete set of `IR holomorphic blocks'. We demonstrate that these correspond to vertex functions: equivariant Euler characteristics of quasimap moduli spaces. In this context, we explore the geometric interpretation of both the Higgs and Coulomb branch localisation schemes in terms of the enumerative geometry of quasimaps and discuss the action of mirror symmetry.

Abstract:In this paper we prove a mirror symmetry conjecture based on the work of Brini et al. (Ann Henri Poincaŕe 13(8):1873–1910, 2012) and Diaconescu et al. (Commun Math Phys 319(3):813–863, 2013). This conjecture relates open Gromov–Witten invariants of the conifold transition of a torus knot to the topological recursion on the B-model spectral curve.

Abstract:We introduce a family of 3d $\mathcal{N} = 4$ superconformal field theories that have zero-dimensional Coulomb and Higgs branches and propose that the rational vertex operator algebras $W^{\text{min}}_{k - \scriptstyle{\frac{1}{2}}}(\mathfrak{sp}_{2N})$ and $L_{k}(\mathfrak{osp}_{1|2N})$ model the modular tensor categories of line operators in their topological $A$ and $B$ twists, respectively. Our analysis indicates that the action of 3d mirror symmetry on this family of theories is related to a novel level-rank duality and leads to several conjectural $q$-series identities of independent interest.

Abstract:The presented paper is a continuation of the series of papers [17, 18]. In this paper, utilizing Batyrev and Borisov's duality construction on nef-partitions, we generalize the recipe in [17,18] to construct a pair of singular double cover Calabi-Yau varieties ( Y, Y (nu) ) over toric manifolds and compute their topological Euler characteristics and Hodge numbers. In the 3 -dimensional cases, we show that ( Y, Y (nu) ) forms a topological mirror pair, i.e., h (p , q) ( Y ) = h (3 - p,q) ( Y (nu) ) for all p, q .

Abstract:This is the companion paper of the letter arXiv:2410.15695, containing all the details and series of examples on a 4d mirror symmetry for the class-𝒮 theories which relates the representation theory of the chiral quantization of the Higgs branch and the geometry of the Coulomb branch. We study the representation theory by using the 4d/VOA correspondence, (defect) Schur indices and (flavor) modular differential equations, and match the data with the fixed manifolds of the Hitchin moduli spaces. This correspondence extends the connection between Higgs and Coulomb branch of Argyres-Douglas theories, and can provide systematic guidance for the study of the representation theory of vertex operator algebras by exploiting results from Hitchin systems.

Abstract:We apply the better-behaved GKZ hypergeometric systems to study toric Calabi-Yau Deligne-Mumford stacks and their Hori-Vafa mirrors given by affine hypersurfaces in algebraic tori. We show the equality between A-brane and B-brane central charges, in terms of period integrals and hypergeometric series respectively. This settles a conjecture of Hosono, which could also be considered as a generalization of the Gamma conjecture for local mirror symmetry.

Abstract:We continue our study on the hypergeometric system which describes period integrals of the double cover family of K3 surfaces. Near certain special boundary points in the moduli space of the K3 surfaces, we construct the local solutions and determine the so-called mirror maps expressing them in terms of genus two theta functions. These mirror maps are the K3 analogues of the elliptic -function. We find that there are two non-isomorphic definitions of the lambda functions corresponding to a flip in the moduli space. We also discuss mirror symmetry for the double cover K3 surfaces and their higher dimensional generalizations. A follow up paper will describe more details of the latter.

Abstract:In the first part of the paper, we prove a mirror symmetry isomorphism between integral tropical homology groups of a pair of mirror tropical Calabi-Yau hypersurfaces. We then apply this isomorphism to prove that a primitive patchworking of a central triangulation of a reflexive polytope gives a connected real Calabi-Yau hypersurface if and only if the corresponding divisor class on the mirror is not zero.

Abstract:We give a uniform, Lie-theoretic mirror symmetry construction for the Frobenius manifolds defined by Dubrovin-Zhang in <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="hep-th/9611200" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/hep-th/9611200">arXiv:hep-th/9611200</a> on the orbit spaces of extended affine Weyl groups, including exceptional Dynkin types. The B-model mirror is given by a one-dimensional Landau-Ginzburg superpotential constructed from a suitable degeneration of the family of spectral curves of the affine relativistic Toda chain for the corresponding affine Poisson--Lie group. As applications of our mirror theorem we give closed-form expressions for the flat coordinates of the Saito metric and the Frobenius prepotentials in all Dynkin types, compute the topological degree of the Lyashko-Looijenga mapping for certain higher genus Hurwitz space strata, and construct hydrodynamic bihamiltonian hierarchies (in both Lax-Sato and Hamiltonian form) that are root-theoretic generalisations of the long-wave limit of the extended Toda hierarchy.

Abstract: Motivated by the recent work of Kachru-Vafa in string theory, we study in Part A of this paper, certain identities involving modular forms, hypergeometric series, and more generally series solutions to Fuchsian equations. The identity which arises in string theory is the simpliest of its kind. There are nontrivial generalizations of the identity which appear new. We give many such examples -- all of which arise in mirror symmetry for algebraic K3 surfaces. In Part B, we study the integrality property of certain $q$-series, known as mirror maps, which arise in mirror symmetry.

Abstract:We prove that the Hilbert scheme of $k$ points on $\mathbb{C}^2$ (Hilb$^k[\mathbb{C}^2]$) is self-dual under three-dimensional mirror symmetry using methods of geometry and integrability. Namely, we demonstrate that the corresponding quantum equivariant K-theory is invariant upon interchanging its Kähler and equivariant parameters as well as inverting the weight of the $\mathbb{C}^\times_\hbar$-action. First, we find a two-parameter family $X_{k,l}$ of self-mirror quiver varieties of type A and study their quantum K-theory algebras. The desired quantum K-theory of Hilb$^k[\mathbb{C}^2]$ is obtained via direct limit $l\to\infty$ and by imposing certain periodic boundary conditions on the quiver data. Throughout the proof, we employ the quantum/classical (q-Langlands) correspondence between XXZ Bethe Ansatz equations and spaces of twisted $\hbar$-opers. In the end, we propose the 3d mirror dual for the moduli spaces of torsion-free rank-$N$ sheaves on $\mathbb{P}^2$ with the help of a different (three-parametric) family of type A quiver varieties with known mirror dual.
