Abstract:This article presents a fused approach to counterfeit integrated circuit (IC) detection by synergistically combining the resonant cavity system (ResCav) and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. ResCav excels in discerning structural alterations, proven by its ability to mimic and surpass X-ray imaging results, making it ideal for identifying recycled, cloned, repackaged, and tampered ICs. On the other hand, FTIR's precision in detecting subtle material variations positions it as a prime candidate for uncovering remarked ICs. The integrated ResCav and FTIR system forms a robust dual-modality approach, broadening the scope of detection and reducing false positives. This research not only fortifies defenses against current deceptive practices but also contributes to anticipating and thwarting future illicit endeavors in the dynamic landscape of electronic component security. The adoption of dual-modalities holds significant implications for enhancing security measures, ensuring sustained integrity, and reliability in electronic systems.
