Abstract:$\mu\nu$SSM is an $R$-parity violating non-minimal supersymmetric model which uses right chiral neutrino superfields to solve the $\mu$-problem. The $R$-parity violation together with a TeV scale seesaw mechanism using right handed neutrinos are instrumental for the light neutrino mass generation in $\mu\nu$SSM. We show that it is possible to accommodate three flavour global neutrino data in $\mu\nu$SSM with three massive neutrinos at the tree level. Ingression of the one-loop corrections to neutrino masses and mixing shows certain variations over the tree level analysis depending on the specific hierarchy of neutrino masses involved. In $\mu\nu$SSM some of the $R$-parity violating decay branching ratios of the lightest neutralino show nice correlation with certain neutrino mixing angle. These correlations along with the presence of displaced vertices in the decay of the lightest neutralino can be further investigated as a test of $\mu\nu$SSM in collider experiments.

Abstract:The R-symmetry formalism is applied for the supersymmetric economical SU(3)_C X SU(3)_L X U(1)_X (3-3-1) model. The generalization of the minimal supersymmetric standard model relation among R-parity, spin and matter parity is derived, and discrete symmetries for the proton stability in this model are imposed. We show that in such a case it is able to give leptons masses at just the tree level. A simple mechanism for the mass generation of the neutrinos is explored. With the new R-parity, the neutral fermions get mass matrix with two distinct sectors: one light which is identified with neutrino mass matrix, another heavy one which is identified with neutralinos one. The similar situation exists in the charged fermion sector. Some phenomenological consequences such as proton stability, neutrinoless double beta decays are discussed.

Abstract:The simplest unified extension of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model with bilinear R-Parity violation provides a predictive scheme for neutrino masses which can account for the observed atmospheric and solar neutrino anomalies. Despite the smallness of neutrino masses R-parity violation is observable at present and future high-energy colliders, providing an unambiguous cross-check of the model.

Abstract:If the one term $(\hat \nu_e \hat \mu - \hat e \hat \nu_\mu) \hat \tau^c$ is added to the MSSM (Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model) superpotential, the recently observed muon g--2 (anomalous magnetic moment) excess can be explained very simply by a light $\tilde \nu_e$. If the soft symmetry-breaking terms $\hat \nu_\alpha \hat h_2^0 - \hat l_\alpha \hat h_2^+$ are also added, realistic neutrino masses (with bimaximal mixing) are generated as well.

Understanding small neutrino mass and its implication

Abstract:We have derived previously the relations between the neutrino masses and mixing angles in a dispersive analysis on the mixing of neutral leptonic states. The only involved assumption is that the electroweak symmetry of the Standard Model (SM) is restored at a high energy scale in some new physics scenario, which diminishes the box diagrams responsible for the mixing. Here we include corrections to the analysis up to three loops, arising from exchanges of additional neutral and charged scalars in the electroweak symmetric phase. The solution to the dispersion relation for the $\mu^-e^+$-$\mu^+e^-$ mixing generates a typical neutrino mass $m_\nu\sim O(1)$ eV in the SM unambiguously. The solution also favors the normal ordering of the neutrino masses over the inverted one, and links the large electroweak symmetry restoration, i.e., new physics scale to the small neutrino mass.

Abstract:We present a mathematical framework for constructing the most general neutrino mass matrices that yield the observed spectrum of light active neutrino masses in conjunction with arbitrarily many heavy sterile neutrinos, without the need to assume a hierarchy between Dirac and Majorana mass terms. The seesaw mechanism is a byproduct of the formalism, along with many other possibilities for generating tiny neutrino masses. We comment on phenomenological applications of this approach, in particular deriving a mechanism to address the long-standing $(g-2)_\mu$ anomaly in the context of the left-right symmetric model.

Abstract:We explore generalized global symmetries in theories of physics beyond the standard model. Theories of Z′ bosons generically contain "noninvertible" chiral symmetries, whose presence indicates a natural paradigm to break this symmetry by an exponentially small amount in an ultraviolet completion. For example, in models of gauged lepton family difference such as the phenomenologically well motivated U(1)Lμ−Lτ , there is a noninvertible lepton number symmetry which protects neutrino masses. We embed these theories in gauged non-Abelian horizontal lepton symmetries, e.g., U(1)Lμ−Lτ⊂SU(3)H , where the generalized symmetries are broken nonperturbatively by the existence of lepton family magnetic monopoles. In such theories, either Majorana or Dirac neutrino masses may be generated through quantum gauge theory effects from the charged lepton Yukawas, e.g., yν∼yτexp(−Sinst) . Neutrino properties from maximally-predictive GUT models and the structure of the heavy Majorana sector

Abstract:Starting from a complete set of possible parametrisations of the quark-mass matrices that have the maximum number of texture zeros at the grand unification scale, and the Georgi-Jarlskog mass relations, we classify the neutrino spectra with respect to the unknown structure of the heavy Majorana sector. The results can be casted into a small number of phenomenologically distinct classes of neutrino spectra, characterised by universal mass-hierarchy and oscillation patterns. One finds that the neutrino masses reflect the natural hierarchy among the three generations and obey the quadratic seesaw, for most GUT models that contain a rather unsophisticated Majorana sector. A scenario with $\nu_{\tau}$ as the missing hot dark matter component and $\nu_e\leftrightarrow \nu_{\mu}$ oscillations accounting for the solar neutrino deficit comes naturally out of this type of models and is very close to the experimental limit of confirmation or exclusion. In contrast, in the presence of a strong hierarchy of heavy scales or/and some extra symmetries in the Majorana mass matrix, this natural hierarchy gets distorted or even reversed. This fact can become a link between searches for neutrino oscillations and searches for discrete symmetries close to the Planck scale.

Stronger Neutrino Interactions at Extremely High Energies and the Muon Anomalous Magnetic Moment

Abstract:A specific model of parity-conserving lepton substructure is considered. We show that a positive-definite contribution to the muon $(g-2)/2$ at the possible level of about $4\times 10^{-9}$, can be related to a significant increase in the interaction cross section for cosmic-ray neutrinos with energies above about $10^{19}$ eV. The additional cross section at $\sim 10^{20}$ eV is calculated to be $\sim 10^{-29}$ cm$^2$, which is about 100 times the standard weak-interaction cross section. The model involves an extremely massive, neutral lepton, with $m_L\cong 2\times 10^6$ GeV fixed by the new contribution to $(g-2)/2$.

Abstract:This paper aims to explore the implications of $U(1)_{L_e-L_{\alpha}}$ gauge symmetries, where $\alpha=\tau, \mu$, in the neutrino sector through the type-(I+II) seesaw mechanisms. To achieve such a hybrid framework, we include a scalar triplet and three right-handed neutrinos. The model can successfully account for the active neutrino masses, mixing angles, mass squared differences, and the CP-violating phase within the $3 \sigma$ bounds of NuFit v5.2 neutrino oscillation data. The presence of new gauge boson at the MeV scale provides an explanation for the muon and electron $(g-2)$ within the confines of their experimental limits. Furthermore, we scrutinize the proposed models in the context of upcoming long-baseline neutrino experiments such as DUNE, P2SO, T2HK, and T2HKK. The findings reveal that P2SO and T2HK have the ability to probe both the models in their $5 \sigma$ allowed oscillation parameter region, whereas DUNE and T2HKK can conclusively test only model with $U(1)_{L_e-L_\mu}$- symmetry within their $5 \sigma$ parameter space if the true values of the oscillation parameters remain consistent with NuFit v5.2.

Abstract:Within framework of the $\mu$ from $\nu$ Supersymmetric Standard Model ($\mu\nu$SSM), exotic singlet right-handed neutrino superfields induce new sources for lepton-flavor violation. In this work, we investigate some lepton-flavor violating processes in detail in the $\mu\nu$SSM. The numerical results indicate that the branching ratios for lepton-flavor violating processes $\mu\rightarrow e\gamma$, $\tau\rightarrow\mu\gamma$ and $\mu\rightarrow3e$ can reach $10^{-12}$ when $\tan\beta$ is large enough, which can be detected in near future. We also discuss the constraint on the relevant parameter space of the model from the muon anomalous magnetic dipole moment. In addition, from the scalars for the $\mu\nu$SSM we strictly separate the Goldstone bosons, which disappear in the physical gauge.

Radiative Majorana Neutrino Masses in a Parity Solution to the Strong CP Problem

Abstract:The strong CP problem can be solved in Parity symmetric theories with electroweak gauge group containing $SU(2)_L \times SU(2)_R$ broken by the minimal Higgs content. Neutrino masses may be explained by adding the same number of gauge singlet fermions as the number of generations. The neutrino masses vanish at tree-level and are only radiatively generated, leading to larger couplings of right-handed neutrinos to Standard Model particles than with the tree-level seesaw mechanism. We compute these radiative corrections and the mixing angles between left- and right-handed neutrinos. We discuss sensitivities to these right-handed neutrinos from a variety of future experiments that search for heavy neutral leptons with masses from tens of MeV to the multi-TeV scale.

Abstract:In the last years we have learnt a lot about neutrino masses and mixings. Neutrinos are not all massless but their masses are very small. Probably masses are small because neutrinos are Majorana particles with masses inversely proportional to the large scale M of lepton number (L) violation, which turns out to be compatible with the GUT scale. We have understood that there is no contradiction between large neutrino mixings and small quark mixings, even in the context of GUTs and that neutrino masses fit well in the SUSY GUT picture. Out of equilibrium decays with CP and L violation of heavy RH neutrinos can produce a B-L asymmetry, then converted near the weak scale by instantons into an amount of B asymmetry compatible with observations (baryogenesis via leptogenesis). It appears that active neutrinos are not a significant component of Dark Matter in the Universe. A long list of models have been formulated over the years to understand neutrino masses and mixings. With the continuous improvement of the data most of the models have been discarded by experiment. The surviving models still span a wide range going from a maximum of symmetry, with discrete non-abelian flavour groups, to the opposite extreme of anarchy.

Abstract:With just the Standard Model Higgs doublet, there are only three types of seesaw models that generate light Majorana neutrino masses at tree level after electroweak spontaneous symmetry breaking. However, if there exist additional TeV scalars acquiring vacuum expectation values, coupled with heavier fermionic multiplets, several new seesaw models become possible. These new seesaws are the primary focus of this study and correspond to the tree-level ultraviolet completions of the effective operators studied in a companion publication. We are interested in the genuine cases, in which the standard seesaw contributions are absent. In addition to the tree-level generation of neutrino masses, we also consider the one-loop contributions. Furthermore, we construct low-energy versions that exhibit a very rich phenomenology. Specifically, we scrutinise the generation of dimension-6 operators and explore their implications, including non-unitarity of the leptonic mixing matrix, non-universal $Z-$boson interactions, and lepton flavor violation. Finally, we provide (Generalised) Scotogenic-like variants that incorporate viable dark matter candidates.

Abstract:We study the prospects of probing neutrino mass models at the newly proposed antimuon collider $\mu$TRISTAN, involving $\mu^+e^-$ scattering at $\sqrt{s}= 346$ GeV and $\mu^+\mu^+$ scattering at $\sqrt{s}= 2$ TeV. We show that $\mu$TRISTAN is uniquely sensitive to leptophilic neutral and doubly-charged scalars naturally occurring in various neutrino mass models, such as Zee, Zee-Babu, cocktail, and type-II seesaw models, over a wide range of mass and coupling values, well beyond the current experimental constraints. It also allows for the possibility to correlate the collider signals with neutrino mixing parameters and charged lepton flavor violating observables.
