Abstract:Amorphous alloys have great commercial value due to their superior properties, but the glass forming ability (GFA) of most alloys is weak, which restricts their production and application, so it is important to predict GFA for saving the high cost of manufacture and experiment. In this paper, a new idea of fusing strong heterogeneous models to predict GFA is proposed, which 1532 experimental data are collected from published literature, and the critical casting diameter D max is predicted by glass transition temperature T g , crystallization transition temperature T x , and melting end temperature T l using stacking-based ensemble learning methods, where D max represents GFA of the alloy. The results show that the prediction accuracy of the model reaches 0.7115, and the mean square error (MSE) and mean absolute error (MAE) are 0.0100 and 0.0667. Since the dataset is very rare in large thickness data, on the basis of the stacking ensemble model, this paper proposes an ensemble learning method based on blending to improve the generalization ability of the model, and its prediction accuracy is improved to 0.9040, and the MSE and MAE are reduced to 0.0090 and 0.0437, respectively. Experimental results demonstrate the promising potential of the new method to predict GFA.
