Abstract:A novel wearable health monitoring system with multi-parameters and its applications for long term monitoring are presented in this paper. The system provides continuous monitoring of the user's electrocardiogram (ECG), respiratory status and activity, as well as the local temperature. A belt-type data acquisition and communication module worn around the chest includes ECG and respiratory module ADS1292R, six axis motion sensor MPU6050, high precision digital temperature sensor Tsic506 and bluetooth 4.0 module CC2541. The collected data is sent to the mobile device via bluetooth and the mobile device gives a heart health index of measuring the body status which includes heart rate, QRS wave, and ST segment. A remote interactive way is constructed by the mobile device communicating with the customer management center via WIFI.

Abstract:Wearable biosensors are garnering substantial interest due to their potential to provide continuous, real-time physiological information via dynamic, noninvasive measurements of biochemical markers in biofluids, such as sweat, tears, saliva and interstitial fluid. Recent developments have focused on electrochemical and optical biosensors, together with advances in the noninvasive monitoring of biomarkers including metabolites, bacteria and hormones. A combination of multiplexed biosensing, microfluidic sampling and transport systems have been integrated, miniaturized and combined with flexible materials for improved wearability and ease of operation. Although wearable biosensors hold promise, a better understanding of the correlations between analyte concentrations in the blood and noninvasive biofluids is needed to improve reliability. An expanded set of on-body bioaffinity assays and more sensing strategies are needed to make more biomarkers accessible to monitoring. Large-cohort validation studies of wearable biosensor performance will be needed to underpin clinical acceptance. Accurate and reliable real-time sensing of physiological information using wearable biosensor technologies would have a broad impact on our daily lives.

Abstract:The medical domain is currently experiencing a significant shift from centralized healthcare models to home-based and personalized monitoring paradigms, particularly in the realm of cardiovascular monitoring. This move towards wearable systems is aimed at serving a wider population, reducing hospital resources’ burden, and cutting healthcare costs. There is growing interest in leveraging advanced nanomaterials to develop cutting-edge wearable biosensors for cardiovascular applications. These devices offer precise, real-time, and continuous data collection, which is crucial for creating personalized therapeutic interventions. Central to this innovation is the integration of various nanostructures with advanced biosensing techniques and microelectronics. These nanostructures play a pivotal role in enhancing preventative medical care by facilitating early diagnosis and management of critical health conditions. This review explores the latest advancements in wearable biosensors and assesses their role in monitoring cardiac vitals. It provides a comprehensive analysis of the materials, design principles, functional mechanisms, and recent breakthroughs related to these sensors, focusing on their applications in monitoring cardiac activity, measuring blood pressure, assessing pulse wave velocity, and detecting biomarkers. This review focuses on wearable biosensors designed for cardiovascular monitoring, particularly emphasizing the integration of nanomaterials.

Abstract:In recent years, the biochemical and biological research areas have shown great interest in a smart wearable sensor because of its increasing prevalence and high potential to monitor human health in a non-invasive manner by continuous screening of biomarkers dispersed throughout the biological analytes, as well as real-time diagnostic tools and time-sensitive information compared to conventional hospital-centered system. These smart wearable sensors offer an innovative option for evaluating and investigating human health by incorporating a portion of recent advances in technology and engineering that can enhance real-time point-of-care-testing capabilities. Smart wearable sensors have emerged progressively with a mixture of multiplexed biosensing, microfluidic sampling, and data acquisition systems incorporated with flexible substrate and bodily attachments for enhanced wearability, portability, and reliability. There is a good chance that smart wearable sensors will be relevant to the early detection and diagnosis of disease management and control. Therefore, pioneering smart wearable sensors into reality seems extremely promising despite possible challenges in this cutting-edge technology for a better future in the healthcare domain. This review presents critical viewpoints on recent developments in wearable sensors in the upcoming smart digital health monitoring in real-time scenarios. In addition, there have been proactive discussions in recent years on materials selection, design optimization, efficient fabrication tools, and data processing units, as well as their continuous monitoring and tracking strategy with system-level integration such as internet-of-things, cyber-physical systems, and machine learning algorithms.

Abstract:Bioreceptor‐based wearable electrochemical sensors have opened new avenues for on‐body and continuous molecular detections, enabling personalized and preventive healthcare. This review summarises recent innovations and applications of those wearable biosensing systems in detecting a variety of biochemical markers, such as small molecules, hormones, drugs, and macromolecules, in biofluids including interstitial fluid, sweat, wound exudate, saliva, and tears. Recent advancements in wearable electrochemical biosensors have opened new avenues for on‐body and continuous detection of biomarkers, enabling personalized, real‐time, and preventive healthcare. While glucose monitoring has set a precedent for wearable biosensors, the field is rapidly expanding to include a wider range of analytes crucial for disease diagnosis, treatment, and management. In this review, recent key innovations are examined in the design and manufacturing underpinning these biosensing platforms including biorecognition elements, signal transduction methods, electrode and substrate materials, and fabrication techniques. The applications of these biosensors are then highlighted in detecting a variety of biochemical markers, such as small molecules, hormones, drugs, and macromolecules, in biofluids including interstitial fluid, sweat, wound exudate, saliva, and tears. Additionally, the review also covers recent advances in wearable electrochemical biosensing platforms, such as multi‐sensory integration, closed‐loop control, and power supply. Furthermore, the challenges associated with critical issues are discussed, such as biocompatibility, biofouling, and sensor degradation, and the opportunities in materials science, nanotechnology, and artificial intelligence to overcome these limitations.

Abstract:Abstract Wearable health sensors could monitor the wearer's health and surrounding environment in real-time. With the development of sensor and operating system hardware technology, the functions of wearable devices have been gradually enriched with more diversified forms and more accurate physiological indicators. These sensors are moving towards high precision, continuity, and comfort, making great contributions to improving personalized health care. At the same time, in the context of the rapid development of the Internet of Things, the ubiquitous regulatory capabilities have been released. Some sensor chips are equipped with data readout and signal conditioning circuits, and a wireless communication module for transmitting data to computer equipment. At the same time, for data analysis of wearable health sensors, most companies use artificial neural networks (ANN). In addition, artificial neural networks could help users effectively get relevant health feedback. Through the physiological response of the human body, various sensors worn could effectively transmit data to the control unit, which analyzes the data and provides feedback of the health value to the user through the computer. This is the working principle of wearable sensors for health. This article focuses on wearable biosensors used for healthcare monitoring in different situations, as well as the development, technology, business, ethics, and future of wearable sensors for health monitoring.

Abstract:With the increasing prevalence of growing population, aging and chronic diseases continuously rising healthcare costs, the healthcare system is undergoing a vital transformation from the traditional hospital-centered system to an individual-centered system. Since the 20th century, wearable sensors are becoming widespread in healthcare and biomedical monitoring systems, empowering continuous measurement of critical biomarkers for monitoring of the diseased condition and health, medical diagnostics and evaluation in biological fluids like saliva, blood, and sweat. Over the past few decades, the developments have been focused on electrochemical and optical biosensors, along with advances with the non-invasive monitoring of biomarkers, bacteria and hormones, etc. Wearable devices have evolved gradually with a mix of multiplexed biosensing, microfluidic sampling and transport systems integrated with flexible materials and body attachments for improved wearability and simplicity. These wearables hold promise and are capable of a higher understanding of the correlations between analyte concentrations within the blood or non-invasive biofluids and feedback to the patient, which is significantly important in timely diagnosis, treatment, and control of medical conditions. However, cohort validation studies and performance evaluation of wearable biosensors are needed to underpin their clinical acceptance. In the present review, we discuss the importance, features, types of wearables, challenges and applications of wearable devices for biological fluids for the prevention of diseased conditions and real-time monitoring of human health. Herein, we summarize the various wearable devices that are developed for healthcare monitoring and their future potential has been discussed in detail.

Abstract:A new wave of portable biosensors allows frequent measurement of health-related physiology. We investigated the use of these devices to monitor human physiological changes during various activities and their role in managing health and diagnosing and analyzing disease. By recording over 250,000 daily measurements for up to 43 individuals, we found personalized circadian differences in physiological parameters, replicating previous physiological findings. Interestingly, we found striking changes in particular environments, such as airline flights (decreased peripheral capillary oxygen saturation [SpO2] and increased radiation exposure). These events are associated with physiological macro-phenotypes such as fatigue, providing a strong association between reduced pressure/oxygen and fatigue on high-altitude flights. Importantly, we combined biosensor information with frequent medical measurements and made two important observations: First, wearable devices were useful in identification of early signs of Lyme disease and inflammatory responses; we used this information to develop a personalized, activity-based normalization framework to identify abnormal physiological signals from longitudinal data for facile disease detection. Second, wearables distinguish physiological differences between insulin-sensitive and -resistant individuals. Overall, these results indicate that portable biosensors provide useful information for monitoring personal activities and physiology and are likely to play an important role in managing health and enabling affordable health care access to groups traditionally limited by socioeconomic class or remote geography.

Abstract:With the innovation of wearable technology and the rapid development of biosensors, wearable biosensors based on flexible textile materials have become a hot topic. Such textile-based wearable biosensors promote the development of health monitoring, motion detection and medical management, and they have become an important support tool for human healthcare monitoring. Textile-based wearable biosensors not only non-invasively monitor various physiological indicators of the human body in real time, but they also provide accurate feedback of individual health information. This review examines the recent research progress of fabric-based wearable biosensors. Moreover, materials, detection principles and fabrication methods for textile-based wearable biosensors are introduced. In addition, the applications of biosensors in monitoring vital signs and detecting body fluids are also presented. Finally, we also discuss several challenges faced by textile-based wearable biosensors and the direction of future development.

Abstract:The emergence of wireless technologies and advancements in on-body sensor design can enable change in the conventional health-care system, replacing it with wearable health-care systems, centred on the individual. Wearable monitoring systems can provide continuous physiological data, as well as better information regarding the general health of individuals. Thus, such vital-sign monitoring systems will reduce health-care costs by disease prevention and enhance the quality of life with disease management. In this paper, recent progress in non-invasive monitoring technologies for chronic disease management is reviewed. Abstract:Wearable chem-biosensors have been garnering tremendous interest due to the significant potential in tailored healthcare diagnostics and therapeutics. With the development of the medical diagnostics revolution, wearable chem-biosensors as a rapidly emerging wave allow individuals to perform on-demand detection and obtain the required in-depth information. In contrast to commercial wearables, which tend to be miniaturized for measuring physical activities, the recent progressive wearable chem-biosensing device have mainly focused on non-invasive or minimally invasive monitoring biomarkers at the molecular level. Wearables is a multidisciplinary subject, and chem-biosensing is one of the most significant technologies. In this review, the currently basic academic research of wearable chem-biosensing devices and its commercial transformation were summarized and highlighted. Moreover, some representative wearable products on the market for individual health managements are presented. Strategies for the identification and sensing of biomarkers are discussed to further promote the development of wearable chem-biosensing devices. We also shared the limitations and breakthroughs of the next generation of chemo-biosensor wearables, from home use to clinical diagnosis.

These sensors, which are frequently integrated into clothes and accessories or directly applied to the skin, provide continuous, real-time monitoring of physiological and biochemical parameters such as heart rate, glucose levels, and hydration status. Recent breakthroughs in downsizing, materials science, and wireless communication have greatly improved the functionality, comfort, and accessibility of wearable biosensors. This review examines the present status of wearable biosensor technology, with an emphasis on advances in sensor design, fabrication techniques, and data analysis algorithms. Abstract:Smart wearable systems for health monitoring are highly desired in personal wisdom medicine and telemedicine. These systems make the detecting, monitoring, and recording of biosignals portable, long-term, and comfortable. The development and optimization of wearable health-monitoring systems have focused on advanced materials and system integration, and the number of high-performance wearable systems has been gradually increasing in recent years. However, there are still many challenges in these fields, such as balancing the trade-off between flexibility/stretchability, sensing performance, and the robustness of systems. For this reason, more evolution is required to promote the development of wearable health-monitoring systems. In this regard, this review summarizes some representative achievements and recent progress of wearable systems for health monitoring. Meanwhile, a strategy overview is presented about selecting materials, integrating systems, and monitoring biosignals. The next generation of wearable systems for accurate, portable, continuous, and long-term health monitoring will offer more opportunities for disease diagnosis and treatment.

Abstract:<p>Artificial intelligence (AI) and wearable sensors are two essential fields to realize the goal of tailoring the best precision medicine treatment for individual patients. Integration of these two fields enables better acquisition of patient data and improved design of wearable sensors for monitoring the wearers' health, fitness and their surroundings. Currently, as the Internet of Things (IoT), big data and big health move from concept to implementation, AI-biosensors with appropriate technical characteristics are facing new opportunities and challenges. In this paper, the most advanced progress made in the key phases for future wearable and implantable technology from biosensing, wearable biosensing to AI-biosensing is summarized. Without a doubt, material innovation, biorecognition element, signal acquisition and transportation, data processing and intelligence decision system are the most important parts, which are the main focus of the discussion. The challenges and opportunities of AI-biosensors moving forward toward future medicine devices are also discussed.</p>
