Abstract:In this work we describe dicritical foliations in $(\mathbb{C}^2,0)$ at a triple point of the resolution dual graph of an analytic plane branch $\mathcal{C}$ using its semiroots. In particular, we obtain a constructive method to present a one-parameter family $\mathcal{C}_{u}$ of separatrices for such foliations. As a by-product we relate the contact order between a special member of $\mathcal{C}_{u}$ and $\mathcal{C}$ with analytic discrete invariants of plane branches.

Abstract:We consider resolution of singularities for $1$-foliations on varieties of dimension at most three in positive characteristic. We prove that such singularities can be completely resolved if we allow tame regular Deligne--Mumford stacks as underlying spaces. If one restricts to underlying varieties, we show that $1$-foliations singularities can be simplified into multiplicative ones.

Abstract:A singular foliation is a partition of a manifold into leaves of perhaps varying dimension. Stefan and Sussmann carried out fundamental work on singular foliations in the 1970s. We survey their contributions, show how diffeological objects and ideas arise naturally in this setting, and highlight some consequences within diffeology. We then introduce a definition of transverse equivalence of singular foliations, following Molino's definition for regular foliations. We show that, whereas transverse equivalent singular foliations always have diffeologically diffeomorphic leaf spaces, the converse holds only for certain classes of singular foliations. We finish by showing that the basic cohomology of a singular foliation is invariant under transverse equivalence.

Abstract:We describe the valuations following infinitely near singular points of a (singular) holomorphic foliation in the complex plane. They appear to be those satisfying a generalization of L'Hopital's rule. With them, we characterize dicritical vector fields, generic simple singularities, the existence of non- convergent solutions, etc. The construction is generalizable to dimension n.

Abstract:We provide examples of foliations on the complex projective plane $\CP^2$ carrying positive foliated harmonic currents whose supports coincide with singular Levi-flats which, in turn, can be chosen real-analytic (but non-algebraic) or merely continuous with fractal transverse nature. Furthermore, non-trivial examples as above can already be found among foliations of degree~$2$ and~$3$. In addition, the space of positive foliated harmonic currents for these foliations is fully characterised and it contains a unique harmonic (non-closed) current supported on the Levi-flat in question. Finally, we also provide examples of foliations carrying diffuse positive foliated closed currents related to a theorem due to Brunella as well as a general criterion for the existence of singular real analytic Levi-flats for Riccati foliations.

Classification of the invariants of foliations by curves of low degree on the three-dimensional projective space

Abstract:We study foliations by curves on the three-dimensional projective space with no isolated singularities, which is equivalent to assuming that the conormal sheaf is locally free. We provide a classification of the topological and algebraic invariants of the conormal sheaves and singular schemes for such foliations by curves, up to degree 3. In particular, we prove that foliations by curves of degree 1 or 2 are contained in a pencil of planes or are Legendrian, and are given by the complete intersection of two codimension one distributions. Furthermore, we prove that the conormal sheaf of a foliation by curves of degree 3 with reduced singular scheme either splits as a sum of line bundles or is an instanton bundle. For degree larger than 3, we focus on two classes of foliations by curves, namely Legendrian foliations and those whose conormal sheaf is a twisted null-correlation bundle. We give characterizations of such foliations, describe their singular schemes and their moduli spaces.

Abstract:We study codimension one (transversally oriented) foliations $\fa$ on oriented closed manifolds $M$ having non-empty compact singular set $\sing(\fa)$ which is locally defined by Bott-Morse functions. We prove that if the transverse type of $\fa$ at each singular point is a center and $\fa$ has a compact leaf with finite fundamental group or a component of $\sing(\fa)$ has codimension $\ge 3$ and finite fundamental group, then all leaves of $\fa$ are compact and diffeomorphic, $\sing(\fa)$ consists of two connected components, and there is a Bott-Morse function $f:M \to [0,1]$ such that $f\colon M \setminus \sing(\fa) \to (0,1)$ is a fiber bundle defining $\fa$ and $\sing(\fa) = f^{-1}(\{0,1\})$. This yields to a topological description of the type of leaves that appear in these foliations, and also the type of manifolds admiting such foliations. These results unify, and generalize, well known results for cohomogeneity one isometric actions and a theorem of Reeb for foliations with Morse singularities of center type. In this case each leaf of $\fa$ is a sphere fiber bundle over each component of $\sing(\fa)$.

Abstract:We solve the Poincaré problem for plane foliations with only one dicritical divisor. Moreover, in this case, we give an algorithm that decides whether a foliation has a rational first integral and computes it in the affirmative case. We also provide an algorithm to compute a rational first integral of prefixed genus $g\neq 1$ of any type of plane foliation $\cf$. When the number of dicritical divisors dic$(\cf)$ is larger than two, this algorithm depends on suitable families of invariant curves. When dic$(\cf) = 2$, it proves that the degree of the rational first integral can be bounded only in terms of $g$, the degree of $\cf$ and the local analytic type of the dicritical singularities of $\cf$.

Abstract:In this paper we study the algebraic ranks of foliations on $\mathbb{Q}$-factorial normal projective varieties. We start by establishing a Kobayashi-Ochiai's theorem for Fano foliations in terms of algebraic rank. We then investigate the local positivity of the anti-canonical divisors of foliations, obtaining a lower bound for the algebraic rank of a foliation in terms of Seshadri constant. We describe those foliations whose algebraic rank slightly exceeds this bound and classify Fano foliations on smooth projective varieties attaining this bound. Finally we construct several examples to illustrate the general situation, which in particular allow us to answer a question asked by Araujo and Druel on the generalised indices of foliations.

Abstract:We construct families of pencils in with a unique base point such that the associated foliations have a unique singular point. The families give counterexamples to the Poincaré Problem in the sense that for a given degree of the foliations, the degree of the pencils and their genus arbitrarily increases. The generic element of each family of pencils turns out to be isotrivial. We study other related topics, such as the instability of the pencils and the associated foliations. Finally, we prove the rationality of the variety defined by these families of pencils.

Abstract:In this paper we review some author's results about singular holonomy of singular riemannian foliations with sections (s.r.f.s for short) and also some results of a joint work with Toeben and a joint work with Gorodski. We stress here that the condition that the leaves are compact, used in some of these results, can be replaced by the condition that the leaves are closed embedded. We also briefly recall some of Toeben's results about blow-up of s.r.f.s. Then we use this technique to get conditions under which a holonomy map can be extended to a global isometry.

The main result of this paper is that for , the image of is as large as possible, subject to this constraint. This requires combining the algebro-geometric work of Lönne with Johnson's theory of the Torelli subgroup of .

Effective Integrability of Lins Neto's Family of Foliations

Abstract:A. Lins Neto presented in [Lins-Neto,2002] a $1$-dimensional family of degree four foliations on the complex projective plane $\mathcal{F}_{t \in \overline{\mathbb{C}}}$ with non-degenerate singularities of fixed analytic type, whose set of parameters $t$ for which $\mathcal{F}_t$ is an elliptic pencil is dense and countable. In [McQuillan,2001] and [Guillot,2002], M. McQuillan and A. Guillot showed that the family lifts to linear foliations on the abelian surface $E \times E$, where $E = \mathbb{C}/\Gamma$, $\Gamma = < 1 , \tau>$ and $\tau$ is a primitive 3rd root of unity, the parameters for which $\mathcal{F}_t$ are elliptic pencils being $t\in \mathbb{Q}(\tau) \cup {\infty}$. In [Puchuri,2013], the second author gave a closed formula for the degree of the elliptic curves of $\mathcal{F}_t$ a function of $t \in \mathbb{Q}(\tau)$. In this work we determine degree, positions and multiplicities of singularities of the elliptic curves of $\mathcal{F}_t$, for any given $t \in \mathbb{Z}(\tau)$ in algorithmical way implemented in Python. And also we obtain the explicit expressions for the generators of the elliptic pencils, using the Singular software. Our constructions depend on the effect of quadratic Cremona maps on the family of foliations $\mathcal{F}_t$.

On singular foliations tangent to a given hypersurface

Abstract:We consider a class of singular foliations in the sense of Androulidakis and Skandalis that we call transverse order $k$ foliations. These have a finite number of leaves: one hypersurface (the singular leaf) together with the components of its complement (open leaves). The positive integer parameter $k$ encodes the "order of tangency" of the leafwise vector fields to $L$. We show that a loop in the singular leaf induces a well-defined holonomy transformation at the level of $(k-1)$-jets. The resulting holonomy invariant can be used to give a complete classification of these foliations and obtain concrete descriptions of their associated groupoids and algebras.

Abstract:Let $\mathcal{F}_d(\mathbb{P}^n)$ be the space of all singular holomorphic foliations by curves on $\mathbb{P}^n$ ($n \geq 2$) with degree $d \geq 1.$ We show that there is subset $\mathcal{S}_d(\mathbb{P}^n)$ of $\mathcal{F}_d(\mathbb{P}^n)$ with full Lebesgue measure with the following properties: 1. for every $\mathcal{F} \in \mathcal{S}_d(\mathbb{P}^n),$ all singular points of $\mathcal{F}$ are linearizable hyperbolic. 2. If, moreover, $d \geq 2,$ then every $\mathcal{F}$ does not possess any invariant algebraic curve.

Abstract:Let f: S -> P-1 be a family of genus g >= 2 curves with two singular fibers F-1 and F-2. We show that F-1 = F-2* and F-2 = F-1* are dual to each other, S is a ruled surface, the geometric genera of the singular fibers are equal to the irregularity of the surface, and the virtual Mordell-Weil rank of f is zero. We prove also that c(1)(2)(S) <= -2 if g = 2, and c(1)(2)(S) <= -4 if g > 2. As an application, we will classify all such fibrations of genus g = 2.
