Abstract:Ovadia and Rodriguez-Hertz \cite{OH} defined the neutralized Bowen open ball as $$B_n(x,e^{-n\varepsilon}) = \{y\in X:d(T^j(x),T^j(y)) < e^{-n\varepsilon}, \forall 0\leq j\leq n-1\}.$$ Yang, Chen and Zhou \cite{YCZ} introduced the notion of neutralized Bowen topological entropy of subsets by replacing the usual Bowen ball by neutralized Bowen open ball. And they established variational principles for this notion. In this note, we extend this result to the non-additive neutralized Bowen topological pressure and established the variational principle for non-additive potentials with tempered distortion.

Abstract:Ovadia and Rodriguez-Hertz (Neutralized local entropy, <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="2302.10874" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2302.10874">arXiv:2302.10874</a>) defined the neutralized Bowen open ball for an autonomous dynamical system on a compact metric space. Replacing the usual Bowen open ball with neutralized Bowen open ball, we introduce the notions of neutralized Bowen topological entropy of subsets, neutralized weighted Bowen topological entropy of subsets, lower neutralized Brin-Katok's local entropy of Borel probability measures, and neutralized Katok's entropy of Borel probability measures for a non-autonomous dynamical system on a compact metric space. Then, we establish variational principles for neutralized Bowen topological entropy and neutralized weighted Bowen topological entropy of non-empty compact subsets in terms of lower neutralized Brin-Katok's local entropy and neutralized Katok's entropy. In particular, this extends the main result of (YANG, R., CHEN, E., ZHOU, X.: Variational principle for neutralized Bowen topological entropy, <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="2303.01738v1" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2303.01738v1">arXiv:2303.01738v1</a>) for autonomous dynamical systems.

Abstract:The present paper is devoted to explore the variational principles for nonlinear topological pressure, which was introduced by Buzzi, Kloeckner and Leplaideur recently. We apply the Carathéodory structure to the theory of nonlinear topological pressure and introduce several types of nonlinear topological pressures for subsets. Based on this, we develop several variational principles in different forms for the nonlinear topological pressures, some of which are even new for the case of topological entropy.

Abstract:Given a topological dynamical system (X, T), a Borel cover U of X and a sub-additive sequence F of real-valued continuous functions on X, two notions of measure-theoretical pressure P(mu)(-)(T,U,F) and P(mu)(+)(T,U,F) for an invariant Borel probability measure mu are introduced. When U is an open cover, a local variational principle between topological and measure-theoretical pressure is proved; it is established the upper semi-continuity of P(center dot)(-)(T,U,F) and P(center dot)(+)(T,U,F) on the space of all invariant Borel probability measures. The notions of measure-theoretical pressure P(mu)(-)(T,X,F) and P(mu)(+)(T,X,F) for an invariant Borel probability measure mu are also introduced. A global variational principle between topological and measure-theoretical pressure is also obtained.

Abstract:This paper discusses the variational principles on subsets for topological pressure and topological entropy of non-autonomous dynamical systems. We define the Pesin-Pitskel topological pressure (weighted topological pressure) and the Bowen topological entropy (weighted Bowen topological entropy) for any subset. Also, we define the measure-theoretic pressure and the measure-theoretic lower entropy for all Borel probability measures. Then, we prove variational principles for topological pressure (topological entropy) which links the Pesin-Pitskel topological pressure (weighted topological pressure) on an arbitrary nonempty compact subset to the measure-theoretic pressure of Borel probability measures for non-autonomous dynamical systems (which links the Bowen topological entropy (weighted Bowen topological entropy) on an arbitrary nonempty compact subset to the measure-theoretic lower entropy of Borel probability measures for non-autonomous dynamical systems). Moreover, we show that the Pesin-Pitskel topological pressure (weighted topological pressure) and the Bowen topological entropy (weighted Bowen topological entropy) can be determined by the measure-theoretic pressure and the measure-theoretic lower entropy of Borel probability measures, respectively. These results extend Feng and Huang's results (Variational principles for topological entropies of subsets, J. Funct. Anal. (2012)), Ma and Wen's results (A Billingsley type theorem for Bowen entropy, Comptes Rendus Mathematique (2008)), and Tang et al. results (Variational principle for topological pressures on subsets, J. Math. Anal. Appl. (2015)) for classical dynamical systems to pressures and entropies of non-autonomous dynamical systems.

Abstract:Recently, M. Tsukamoto (New approach to weighted topological entropy and pressure, Ergod. Theory Dyn. Syst. 43 (2023) 1004-1034) used a new approach to define the weighted topological entropy and pressure. Inspired by his ideas, we introduce the relative weighted topological entropy and pressure for factor maps and establish several variational principles. One of these results involves a question raised by D. Feng and W. Huang (Variational principle for weighted topological pressure, J. Math. Pures Appl. 106 (2016) 411-452), whether there is a relative version of the weighted variation principle. In this paper, we try to establish such variational principle. Furthermore, we generalize the Ledrappier and Walters' type relative variational principle to the weighted version.

Abstract:Feng and Huang [Variational principle for weighted topological pressure. J. Math. Pures Appl. (9)106 (2016), 411–452] introduced weighted topological entropy and pressure for factor maps between dynamical systems and established its variational principle. Tsukamoto [New approach to weighted topological entropy and pressure. Ergod. Th. & Dynam. Sys.43 (2023), 1004–1034] redefined those invariants quite differently for the simplest case and showed via the variational principle that the two definitions coincide. We generalize Tsukamoto's approach, redefine the weighted topological entropy and pressure for higher dimensions, and prove the variational principle. Our result allows for an elementary calculation of the Hausdorff dimension of affine-invariant sets such as self-affine sponges and certain sofic sets that reside in Euclidean space of arbitrary dimension.

Abstract:Abstract We introduce a notion of a point-wise entropy of measures (i.e., local entropy) called neutralized local entropy, and compare it with the Brin-Katok local entropy. We show that the neutralized local entropy coincides with Brin-Katok local entropy almost everywhere. Neutralized local entropy is computed by measuring open sets with a relatively simple geometric description. Our proof uses a measure density lemma for Bowen balls, and a version of a Besicovitch covering lemma for Bowen balls. As an application, we prove a lower point-wise dimension bound for invariant measures, complementing the previously established bounds for upper point-wise dimension.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate the relations between various types of topological pressures and different versions of measure-theoretical pressures. We extend Feng–Huang's variational principle for packing entropy to packing pressure and obtain two new variational principles for Pesin–Pitskel and packing pressures respectively. We show that various types of Katok pressures for an ergodic measure with respect to a potential function are equal to the sum of measure-theoretic entropy of this measure and the integral of the potential function. Moreover, we obtain Billingsley type theorem for packing pressure, which indicates that packing pressure can be determined by measure-theoretic upper local pressure of measures, and a variational principle for packing pressure of the set of generic points for any invariant ergodic Borel probability measure.

Abstract:For a Topological Dynamical System and a family of dynamical invariant subadditive continuous functions we introduce some new combinatorial and measure theoretical notions of pressure for a measurable cover conditioned with respect to a measurable partition following the same ideas used in [29].Using the notion of conditional entropy defined in [29] we prove two local variational inequalities for this new notion of combinatorial conditional pressure. For the case of open covers with a clopen partition we prove that both inequalities reach equality for at least one common invariant measure. We also prove that for every invariant measure there is an equilibrium state generated by a single function that attains equality between this new conditional topological pressure and the measure theoretical conditional entropy. This is stated and proven in five Theorems. Finally we show that all these results stay true for the u.s.c. case.This extends the work done so far in the subadditive thermodynamic formalism for actions.

Abstract:In this paper, we define a new version of topological pressure, called average topological pressure , for dynamical systems. We present some of its properties and prove an Abramov-Rokhlin-like relation using the new defined quantity. It connects the topological pressure of the skew product of a random dynamical system to the topological entropy of the noise map and the average topological pressure. The topological pressure of random dynamical systems is connected to the average topological pressure via a variational principle.
