Abstract:Drug Reaction with Eosinophilia and Systemic Symptoms (DRESS) syndrome is a rare adverse event due to patient susceptibility to certain medications. The estimated incidence of DRESS syndrome ranges between 1:1000 and 1:10,000 drug exposures and the associated mortality rate may be as high as 20%. [ 1 , 2 ] This reaction is characterized by skin rash, fever, and hematological abnormalities; organ involvement may occur in 69% of cases. [ 3 ]
