Abstract:The application areas of 3D laser scanning technology become more and more widespread,but it is still complex for the indoor processing of point cloud,which is the hot research in lots of relevant specialties. The article points out the scan of historical buildings by 3D laser scanner,the processing of collected data,the 3D model of buildings,and the layout of control network. The point cloud under the laser scanner coordinate is converted into the data under the total station coordinate. A true 3D model is completely built through de-noising,fitting,and modeling of massive point cloud to provide the basic data for the protection and management of buildings in the future.

Abstract:Using the spatial data captured via ground-based 3D (three-dimensional) laser scanner, a 3D visualization modelling study on spatial object was carried out, and the framework of establishing 3D visualization building model using terra laser scanning data was brought forward as well. Separation of ground objects from laser scanning data and denoising were done to extract the target building and to remove the measurement noises and occlusions from the building data acquired before according to the characteristics of laser scanning data. The whole matching correction to the facets of target building was implemented after the target object was recognized and the features of point, line and polygon were extracted by using planar segmentation and Hough transformation. The original measurement data were re-sampled and the multi stations were in register to get the exact and full facet information of the target building. The triangular meshes were built to generate a three-dimensional surface model and the model was visualized through texture mapping. The experiment result shows that the spatial location of points collected by 3D laser scanning can be effectively dealt with and visualization modelling on buildings can be achieved via the technique mentioned above.

Abstract:3D laser scanning is a relatively advanced surveying and mapping technology in China. It has the characteristics of large data acquisition, non-contact measurement, all-round, high degree of automation and fast data acquisition. It is a new means of measuring buildings. With the continuous development of related technologies, accurate and rapid extraction of point cloud data and target surface features will be the future development trend of 3D laser scanning technology. In this paper, the basic principles of 3D laser scanning are described and analyzed in detail, and the basic process of data matching, data preprocessing and data acquisition in 3D laser scanning is also introduced.

Abstract:Taking a certain history building as an example, we introduce a real 3D digital method for Large-Scale history building using 3D laser scanner and total station, and analyze the precision of coordinate conversion model and established 3D model. Firstly, the building are separated into many stations which are scanned separately in order to get the points cloud of each station, at the same time, the coordinates of targets and feature points of each station are obtained with laser scanner and total station respectively; next step, we convert the points cloud of every station with conversion program developed by Mat lab so that the data are under the uniform reference frame with the collected homonymy targets; finally, the points cloud which have been registered are meshed in order to build real 3D digital history building model, meanwhile we analyze the precision of conversion model and the real 3D model. The result shows that this method is fast, efficient, and the prospective model has high precision.

Abstract:Currently,three-dimensional model reconstruction of historic buildings is a research hotspot. Taking an outstanding historical building as an example,its total station CAD model and terrestrial 3D laser scanning model were respectively built. Firstly,the modeling processes of those two kinds of modeling methods are described,and the difference of those two modeling methods were compared and analyzed,and the advantages and disadvantages of each method were obtained;Secondly,the model-point position errors,geometric errors and the overall model mean square error which exist in these two models in order to investigate the precision of terrestrial 3D laser scanning that is applied in large-scale building modeling were analyzed. The results showed that compared with CAD modeling method,terrestrial 3D laser scanning modeling is a rapid,efficient,high precision method,and this method can perfectly retain the detail features of building. However,the level of automation of the latter data processing is not high.

Abstract:Three-dimensional model reconstruction of historic buildings is a hot topic of current research. In order to make a study of the modeling method of historic buildings based on laser scanning and the precision of constructed model, this paper firstly analyzes the whole technological process of building modeling by means of 3D laser scanner, and then on the basis of the comparison between laser scanning-based model and total station-based CAD model, assesses the precision of the constructed model based on laser scanning respectively from three aspects of point position error, geometric body error and the overall error. Practice has proved that building modeling method based on laser scanning is feasible.

Abstract:A three-dimensional modeling study on spatial object was carried out using the spatial data captured via ground-based 3D laser scanner in the Hui-Quan substation.The experiment result shows that rapid 3D visualization modeling on buildings can be achieved via the methods and procedures mentioned above.It has solved that the traditional equipment and the measuring technique is insufficient in the special domain.It will bring the application mode and technical advantage,which tradition mapping way can not have.A platform for three-dimensional model of the substation can be achieved for the resources,landscape,security,environmental management and other social resources of digital,networked and dynamic visualization.

Abstract:A model is an abstraction of an entity object.Modeling three dimensional (3D) buildings is an important component of ur-ban 3D modelling and visualization.This paper presents a new method for fast modeling of 3D buildings based on mobile laser scan-ning ( MLS) point clouds and remote sensing images.First, buildings facades are extracted from original MLS point clouds data by u-sing adapted RANSAC method, and are further classified into gable roof and plane roof.The heights of different types of buildings are determined.Next, the footprints and roofs of buildings are delineated from remote sensing image by using region growing method and morphological processes.The angular points, which can be used to represent the shape of the building roofs accurately, are identified from building roofs by using Freeman chaining coding algorithm.Finally,the 3D building models are reconstructed after extruding the building footprint with building heights and mapping texture into corresponding facades.The method is proved to be effective and effi-cient through a case application.

Abstract:Combined 3D scanning modeling method with the traditional geometric modeling method, we proposed a geometric modeling scheme based on 3D laser scanning.It solved the sites layout problem when terrestrial laser scanner obtained 3D point cloud, the data processing, the extraction for point, line, surface and body in geometric modeling, and the problem in texture data processing and so on, which realized 3D modeling for the target building.Taking Gutian Meeting Site in Shanghang County, Fujian Province as an example, we established a 3D highly precise model.The result showed that the modeling scheme could enabled the digital modeling for the cultural heritage with typical Chinese architectural features.

Abstract:The 3D landscape system of Digital City is an urgent demand. Because of dense urban construction and complex topography, capture of 3D spatial information is very difficult, traditional manual modeling method is impossible to complete a large-scale 3D modeling. In this paper 3D laser scanning technique is introduced to capture urban spatial information rapidly. Data processing methods of filter by range and filtering based 2D Delaunay are presented. And the technology and method of modeling on the points cloud are discussed. Finally as an example, the 3D landscape models of a campus are introduced in detail.

Abstract:According to the fact that traditional cultural relics 3D modeling method causes many problems, such as, long time, big workload and large expenditure. This paper puts forward to use Z+F 5010C 3D laser scanner patch cloud and panoramic photos, through the color point cloud to accrete directly into a method of the model. The experimental results show that the method making model can reflect the texture details, its quality and scanner is inversely proportional to the distance from scanning the theme, and is closely related to panoramic picture quality. Is presented under the premise of guarantee the point cloud density, by raising the panoramic photos of ways to improve the quality of modeling idea, put forward the direction for further research references.

Abstract:By man-machine intercommunion method,corner points of the building are extracted in order and the positions are corrected according to approximate points.Then,the image orientation is automatically processed and the 3D coordinate are computed according to the orientation result.The 3D building modeling is reconstructed.It is proved that the method of modeling realizes great balance of demand of speed and fidelity.It indicates that this 3D building modeling method is a simple and effective method especially in small building modeling areas such as the target areas when 3D homing.

Abstract:A new method applying close range laser scan (Lidar) survey in capturing 3D objects was presented in this study. One linear laser source Lidar was used for the survey of the objects. This approach is particularly essential for 3D modelling of urban buildings in a geospatial database. Data calibration and merging were conducted for combing point cluster datasets surveyed from different locations and angles of one object in order to generate a 3D data model for the entire object. The point cluster data were transformed and converted into a triangulated irregular network (TIN) mesh model in a 3D geospatial database. The TIN mesh model was compressed and simplified by applying a computing script of surface variability priority parameters. The digital surface images and textures of the building object were draped onto the 3D TIN model according to their coordinate locations. This research provides a direct and fast means of capturing 3D objects on the Earth's surface in a geospatial database.

Abstract:Modelling and reconstructing the building objects into 3D have been implemented in different domains such as urban planning and 3D city visualization. From the cadastre perspective, the registered 3D property refers to the bounded amount of legal space which is required by physical objects. Therefore, a building model with sufficient geometric representation is the premise of precise registering 3D properties. Along with the rapid development of the 3D data acquisition and reconstruction techniques, now it is possible to model the building objects with detailed geometric information into a 3D form. Mounted on the top of the vehicle, the laser scanners facilitate capturing and recording the spatial information of the urban facilities along the streets at vehicle driving speeds. The spatial information and the geometric structure of the building objects such as the building/storey height, and the overhanging part on the building facades are acquirable from the MLS products and then can be represented on the reconstructed model. In this study, the Mobile Laser Scanning (MLS) data and the processed building facade maps are implemented for the building objects reconstruction. The experimental results show that the applicability of introducing the MLS data and the processed building facade maps for 3D physical building and apartment units modelling in the cadastral registration.

Abstract:Abstract In order to better display and protect ancient Chinese architecture, a three-dimensional model reconstruction method based on multi-station laser scanning is proposed. This method mainly includes several steps, such as point cloud data collection, preconditioning, multi-site cloud data fusion, point cloud data compression, 3D model reconstruction and texture mapping, environment rendering, video processing, and 3D roaming. According to the requirement of video rendering and virtual roaming, we focus on cloud processing, 3D modeling and 3D model display in this paper. Experimental results show that an famous building named Enshi Dong Drum Tower is well digitally reconstructed, so as to result in ethnic characteristics and cultural heritage protection in practical application.

Abstract:It is difficult to obtain complete and accurate geometric information by traditional survey and measurement methods.And it may induce secondary harm to the cultural heritage with frequent contact in the measurement process.3D laser scanning and other technologies were used to create realistic,fine 3D models of Butterfly hall in Northwest University for Nationalities.Firstly,3D modeling process based on 3D laser scanning technology was given;Secondly,the accuracy of 3D laser scanner was analyzed in the theoretical and practical perspectives,and in the point cloud data processing using feature points and control points measured by total station to check,position error were within 5 mm.Thirdly,some core steps in point cloud data processing and three-dimensional reconstruction,in particular point cloud data registration,simplification and de-noising,components contour extraction,three-dimensional geometric modeling and texture mapping were discussed in detail.In addition,the 3D modeling idea based on ontology was proposed,and the ontology model of the ancient building in the Protege3.4.4 platform was presented.Application results show that the 3D laser scanning technology is well suited for precise,realistic modeling of Butterfly hall in Northwest University for Nationalities with highly complex geometric characteristics,as provides high accuracy data base for future development and protection,maintenance,restoration reconstruction and virtual geographic environment etc.

Abstract:Abstract The starting point of ancient architecture digitization and 3D reconstruction research is data acquisition. Thus, this paper mainly analyzes the processing of 3D laser scanning data and the construction accuracy of 3D reconstruction models of ancient buildings based on point cloud data. This paper discusses the basic theory of point cloud data and the preprocessing of point cloud data, including point cloud splicing, point cloud denoising, point cloud streamlining, point cloud segmentation, and other methods and applicability are discussed in detail. The boundary extraction algorithm based on RANSAC and the graph cut algorithm are utilized to obtain the main frame line of the building, and a proposed method for reconstruction based on multi-view projection is proposed. Classify laser point cloud samples from ancient buildings, calculate each wall color’s R, G, and B values, and obtain preliminary classifications of laser point cloud data categories. The RANSAC algorithm was used to extract the point cloud data plane extraction peak of the ancient tower building, combined with the three-dimensional modeling coordinate difference of the test points, to analyze the accuracy of the three-dimensional modeling technology of ancient buildings in this paper. The number of plane extraction points of the RANSAC algorithm is 9504, and the standard deviation is 0.0505, which is close to 0. The results are more accurate, and the extraction effect has a certain degree of superiority. The plane coordinate deviation of the reconstruction model of the ancient tower is mainly concentrated in the range of 0.10~0.40m, and the individual coordinate difference is more than 0.10m. The errors in the x -direction and y -direction are ±0.18m and ±0.23m, respectively, and it can be seen from the results of the error calculation that the three-dimensional reconstruction plan of the building proposed in this paper can complete the reconstruction of the three-dimensional model of the building with a high degree of accuracy.
