Abstract:A new multiattribute decision-making (MADM) methodology based on set pair analysis (SPA) for an interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy set environment is developed in this paper. The connection number, which is known as a major component of SPA, provides a quantitative analysis to integrate the certainty and uncertainty as a combined system. First, we briefly review the concepts of interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy sets (IVIFS) and the binary connection number (BCN). Then, the transformation method of interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy numbers into BCNs is studied. Finally, we present a new MADM method where interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy values are used to express evaluating values of alternatives on attributes, and weights are represented with real numbers or IVIFS. Some typical examples are presented to illustrate the feasibility and validity of the proposed approach.

Abstract:Since intuitionistic fuzzy set only deals with uncertainty but not periodicity, therefore to overcome, this situation complex intuitionistic fuzzy set is a better tool that deals with both uncertainty and periodicity. Also, Bonferroni mean operator has the advantage of considering interrelationships between parameters, but it deals with only the crisp data. Recently, to deal with fuzzy data, many extensions of Bonferroni operators have been developed. Motivated by the CIFS and BM operators, in this paper, we proposed some Dombi Bonferroni mean operators to deal with CIF information. Dombi Bonferroni mean operators are special cases of general T-conorm and T-norm, which have the advantage of good flexibility with a general parameter. We proposed the complex intuitionistic fuzzy Dombi Bonferroni mean (CIFDBM) operator, complex intuitionistic fuzzy Dombi weighted Bonferroni mean (CIFDWBM) operator, complex intuitionistic fuzzy Dombi geometric Bonferroni mean (CIFDGBM) operator, and complex intuitionistic fuzzy Dombi weighted geometric Bonferroni mean (CIFDWGBM) operator. Some properties of the developed operators are discussed in detail, and different cases are investigated. Moreover, a multicriteria group decision-making (MCGDM) method is developed based on the proposed aggregation operators. Finally, a numerical example of information security management evaluation is given in order to demonstrate the application and effectiveness of the proposed approach. A comparative study is also conducted in order to show the advantage of the developed method.

Abstract:This paper proposes the concept of incomplete and fuzzy decision information system under incomplete information system and completes fuzzy decision information system, unlike either incomplete information system or complete fuzzy decision information system, which is a generalization of them. The rough set model for incomplete and fuzzy decision information system based on limited tolerance relation is presented, which is alike the generalizations of rough set model for incomplete information system and of that for complete fuzzy decision information system. Knowledge reduction and its algorithm ascertaining precision degree unchanged are mentioned.

Abstract:Multi-attribute decision making (MADM) with attribute values as interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy numbers (IVIFNs) is essentially a second-order decision making problem with uncertainty. To this end, the partial connection number (PCN) of set pair analysis is applied to MADM with IVIFNs. The PCN is an adjoin function of the connection number (CN), and its calculation process reflects the contradictory movement of the connection component in the CN at various micro-levels. It is the main mathematical tool of multi-level analysis method for the macro state and micro-trend. First, we convert IVIFNs into ternary connection numbers (TCNs); then, we calculate the first-order and second-order total PCNs for TCNs. According to the uncertainty analysis of the first-order total PCN, the possible ranking (first-order ranking) of the schemes in the uncertain environment is given, and the deterministic ordering (second-order ranking) of the schemes is given according to the value of the second-order total PCN to meet the needs of different decision making levels. The practical application shows that the method presented is novel, and the results are in line with the uncertainty decision making. Furthermore, the current status and development trend of schemes are taken into account to make decision making progress more reasonable and operable.

Abstract:In the paper, we present a novel method for handling incomplete information systems. By the proposed method we can transform an incomplete information system into a complete set-value information system without loss any information, and we discuss the relationship between the reducts of incomplete information system and the reducts of it's complements. For incomplete decision tables, we introduce two complete methods according to different criterions of certain factor of decision rules, i.e., maximal sum complement and maximal conjunction complement of certain factor of decision rules.

Abstract:In realistic decision-making environments, human behaviors bring influences to various decision-making procedures, and classic multiattribute decision-making approaches based on utility decisions own some deviations from actual situations. The behavioral decision theory modifies classic decision-making theories to make the new method more applicable. Regret theory, as one of the important components in behavioral decision theories, has been widely used in theories and applications. Based on regret theory, we establish a generalized three-way decision method on incomplete multiscale decision information systems with interval fuzzy numbers. First, we select an incomplete optimal subsystem for the incomplete multiscale information system, and convert the multiscale evaluation information into an interval fuzzy number by using a linguistic term set. Second, based on the probability distribution of evaluation values and tradeoff factors, we propose a target-dependent approximation estimation method for the incomplete interval fuzzy subsystem. Then, the regret–rejoicing preferences between objects are obtained. Finally, a tripartition and ranking method based on a max-bipartition and preference index is established. Moreover, the incompleteness experiments show that the decision-making results of our method can still maintain more than 97% consistency in an incomplete information system with a missing rate of at most 20%. In addition, the parameter analysis shows that the proposed method maintains an accuracy rate of more than 98% and a classification error rate of no more than 0.6%.

Abstract:In this paper, we introduce some set-theoretic operations and laws of the IV-CFSSs, such as interval-valued complex fuzzy soft complement, union, intersection, t-norm, s-norm, simple product, Cartesian product, probabilistic sum, simple difference, and the convex linear sum of min and max operators. We define the distance measure of two IV-CFSSs. This distance measure is then used to define the -equality of IV-CFSSs. We establish some particular examples and basic results of these operations and laws. Moreover, we use IV-CFSSs in decision-making problems. We develop a new decision-making method using the interval-valued complex fuzzy distance measures under the environments of IV-CFSSs. We discuss the real-life case based on the proposed decision-making method. A real-life example demonstrates that the decision-making method developed in the paper can be utilized to deal with problems of uncertainty. Further, the comparative study of IV-CFSSs with complex fuzzy soft sets, interval-valued fuzzy soft sets, and fuzzy soft sets is established.

Abstract:Decision-making problem is a fundamental activity in human life every day. Regarding group decision-making, individuals have insufficient comprehension of the decision objects owing to the limited experience and knowledge and drawback the evaluation process. Therefore, the evaluation information is missing and the group cannot get the precise information for decision objects resulting in the generation of incomplete information systems. It is meaningful for individuals finding an approach to Leverage and tap into existing information. On the basis, the work presented in this paper focuses on group decision-making problems (GDM) with incomplete information. Under the framework of group decision-making, a GDM approach with an incomplete information system is presented combining the formal concept analysis and rough set theory. Firstly, we propose a concept called formal decision context and discuss the properties of the formal decision context, which could divide the incomplete information system into many cognitive units, and the definitions of cognitive units will be given. Then, the property and the relations of various cognitive units will be discussed. Additionally, the upper and lower approximation space under the formal decision context is founded considering the risk attitudes integrating fuzzy rough set and formal concept context. Considering the order relation of various cognitive units and decision objects, we introduce the dominance relation and the importance degree of each cognitive unit under the framework of formal decision context. Furthermore, a theoretical framework of the multi-criteria decision-making problem is presented and two models for the multi-criteria group decision-making problem are discussed combined with fuzzy rough set and formal decision context from two perspectives, including qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis. Finally, an illustrated example is applied to verify the validity and effectiveness of the proposed models. The contributions of this paper include two aspects. On the one hand, this paper provides a new perspective and paradigm considering MCGDM problems with the incomplete information system from the perspective of group consensus. On the other hand, this paper gives two approaches for group decision-making problems from sorting and set theory by the perspective of multi-granular rough set and group consensus.

Abstract:Aiming at the bottleneck problem of multiple attributes group decision in Incomplete Interval-valued Information System(IIIS),the analysis method of incomplete interval-valued information is discussed,and the new definition of sorting quality is put forward.Combining with the Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP),the method obtains the consistent judgment matrix,determines the decision-maker weights,and makes the synthetic security assessment for IIIS.Example analysis shows the effectiveness and the practicability of the method.

Abstract:Data mining in incomplete information systems is difficult but inevitable for uncertain decision. Besides null-valued and layered-valued attributes, interval-valued attributes are also attributed to incomplete information. Extension matrix and rough set theory are used herein to deal with the incompleteness. First the choice of interval-valued attributes is proved to be a NP-hard problem and a heuristic algorithm based on minimal partition dots is proposed. Then a probability tree and fuzzy tree are discussed in detail to improve the performance of previous decision tree algorithms e.g. ID3, C4.5, which are susceptible to noise.

Abstract:In recent years, many scholars have explored a variety of methods integrating three-way decision (3WD) and multi-attribute decision making (MADM), which enables the classification and priority ranking of alternatives possible and fully reflects the effectiveness and advantages of 3WD in solving MADM problems. However, few of these methods can effectively deal with the MADM problems with incomplete mixed information that are frequently encountered in real-world situations. This study proposes a three-way MADM method for an incomplete mixed information system (IMIS), where the objective determination of conditional probabilities and utility functions in IMIS without decision label is the pivotal issue. To overcome this issue, we define a probabilistic similarity measure for incomplete mixed information. The probabilistic similarity measure is used to replace the distance measure of classical TOPSIS for estimating the conditional probabilities objectively. The probabilistic similarity class is introduced with arithmetic average method to design a conversion mechanism and obtain the objective relative utility functions of incomplete evaluation values. We then construct a novel 3WD model in IMIS and combine it with two customized ranking principles, to solve the incomplete mixed MADM problems from the perspective of classification and ranking in a more thoughtful and interpretable manner. Our study provides a new perspective for the research on MADM in incomplete mixed information environment. Several examples and experimental comparisons verify the effectiveness and stability of the proposed method. The experiments demonstrate that our method can meet more decision-making requirements and is more accurate and rational in some decision-making scenarios than several prior similar methods.

Abstract:In this paper, a new evidential reasoning approach is developed for a MADM problem with incomplete decision matrix that includes qualitative, quantitative and missing values. The approach first converts quantitative values into qualitative values and determines all possible focal elements based on the decision matrix, and then it calculates the basic utility assignment of each focal element and the utility interval of each decision alternative. Ranking of decision alternative is at last obtained by comparing their utility intervals. A numerical example is presented to demonstrate the implementation of this approach.

Abstract:Xu (Int J Approx Reason 36:261–270, 2004) introduced the concepts of incomplete reciprocal relation and additive consistent incomplete reciprocal relation. The aim of this paper is to develop a novel procedure for group decision making with incomplete reciprocal relations. The procedure utilizes each given incomplete reciprocal relation to construct an auxiliary reciprocal relation based on additive transitivity, and then aggregates directly these auxiliary reciprocal relations into a collective auxiliary reciprocal relation. After that, based on the collective auxiliary reciprocal relation, a simple linear system of equations is established for ranking alternatives. Finally, a numerical example is given to illustrate the developed procedure.

Abstract:This paper mainly deal with the multi-attribute decision-making(MADM) problem with fuzzy preference information on alternatives when marginal values and weights are simultaneously incomplete.In order to make decision-making result reflect objective information and subjective preference of decision maker, a non-linear programming model is constructed to determine the weigh vector and marginal values of alternatives.A new variable is introduced to transform this non-linear model into the linear programming problem without changing optimal solution.Finally,an application is given to demonstrate the validity and rationality of this model.

Abstract:With the increasing complexity and indeterminacy intensity of the decision making environment, there is a growing lack of widespread utility of traditional preference representations. As a practical yet valid preference expression, interval-valued linguistic intuitionistic fuzzy preference relations (IVLIFPRs) can efficiently represent the pairwise cognitions qualitatively and provide the inclusive support. This study aims at forming a novel group decision making (GDM) method based on the consistency and consensus preference analysis for IVLIFPRs. First, the new concepts of additive consistency and acceptably additive consistency for IVLIFPRs are defined. Based on these definitions, two optimization models are constructed to obtain the incomplete information and acceptably additive consistent IVLIFPRs, respectively. Then, inspired by the Markov model, the derivation approach of DMs' weights is designed. Afterward, the consensus improving process is constructed under the premise of acceptable consistency and smallest information distortion. Accordingly, the normalized priority weights of alternatives are further determined. Thus, a mechanism for the GDM method with incomplete and unacceptably consistent IVLIFPRs is developed. Finally, an application and comparison analysis show that the proposed method comprehensively considers the key steps in the GDM process, so that the logical rationality and technical superiority are well guaranteed.

Abstract:The intuitionistic hesitant fuzzy set (IHFS) is an enriched version of hesitant fuzzy sets (HFSs) that can cover both fuzzy sets (FSs) and intuitionistic fuzzy sets (IFSs). By assigning membership and non-membership grades as subsets of [0, 1], the IHFS can model and handle situations more proficiently. Another related theory is the theory of set pair analysis (SPA), which considers both certainties and uncertainties as a cohesive system and represents them from three aspects: identity, discrepancy, and contrary. In this article, we explore the suitability of combining the IHFS and SPA theories in multi-attribute decision making (MADM) and present the hybrid model named intuitionistic hesitant fuzzy connection number set (IHCS). To facilitate the design of a novel MADM algorithm, we first develop several averaging and geometric aggregation operators on IHCS. Finally, we highlight the benefits of our proposed work, including a comparative examination of the recommended models with a few current models to demonstrate the practicality of an ideal decision in practice. Additionally, we provide a graphical interpretation of the devised attempt to exhibit the consistency and efficiency of our approach.
