Abstract:Hickory is a kind of deciduous tree, belong to Juglandaceae Carya, China is hickory's origin. Its fruit has been the favourite of consumers for high nutritional value and the unique taste. Hickory needs suitable environmental conditions and must be planted at an altitude of 300 meters to 700 meters on hills. In this paper, we import Web- GIS to manage hickory environmental conditions based on the date The system can analyze the date and offer direct-viewing, it can also give advises to the farmers on where it is best for hickory growing. The data included longitude; latitude; altitude; PH value; hydrolysable nitrogen; Olsen P and available K which was measured by every 5 kilometres in Lin'an(a city in Zhe-Jiang province in China) were used. This data was converted into map file format--.shp by ArcView. And then geo-spatial interpolation techniques --- Kriging were applied to infer the value of unknown points in Lin'an's map. While the Web-GIS-Based Information System was developed by Mapserver (one of the open source WebGIS) and C# in Visual Studio 2008.In which farmers can click the points on the map to find the environmental conditions and if the place is suitable for hickory's growing.

Abstract:By the data of CFI remote sensing interpretation sample plots of 1999's and 2004's in Jilin province, two kinds of land cover types map were compiled. The dynamic transfer date matrix of land cover types in the given study area was also obtained through constructing space information base and overlaying the two kinds of vector maps using ARC/INFO software. The spatial distribution and changes of the environmental status in this area were analyzed in the given time according to dynamic degree model of the eco-environmental evaluation. Analysis and prediction on the developing tendency of land cover patterns and eco-environmental status with Markov chain model showed that is towards advantageous aspect.

Abstract:The forest coverage is an important indicator of eco-province construction index system.The grey relativity was used to analyze the factors of forest coverage.Result indicated that stock volume of the forest and forest areas were the main factors.On the basis of forest coverage statistical data from 1994-2005,grey system theory was applied to build up the GM(1,1) model.Using the GM(1,1) model to forecast the forest coverage development trend,the forest coverage would be 43.90% in 2006 and 44.14% in 2007.The originally data is continuity and comparable,so the results has high precision,and can provide scientific gist for macroscopical decision.

Abstract:With economic development and social progress, geographic information science is playing a more and more important role in tourism development. Many spatial analysis methods have been used in planning and design of scenic development programs. In this paper, the application of geographic information systems is illustratedfrom three perspectives. DEM model, Voronoi diagram and Space syntax are used to help achieve suitable land use, rational scenic spots layout, and traffic systems, with which tourist split-flow may be attainable. This study enriches tourism planning methods, which may make tourism planning more scientific and operable.

From system framework, main function, spatial database structure, mass data organization, and spatial index etc., the demonstration management system of 1∶10 000 fundamental geo-information database in Zhejiang Province is introduced. The experimental data of spatial indexes conduce to better access performance of mass data. The expected system aim has been achieved.

Abstract:The forest ecological function zone in Heilongjiang Province is an important barrier for maintaining ecological security in my country. Its forest ecological environment has great influence on the sustainable development of regional economy and society and the ecological security of neighboring regions. Based on reading domestic and foreign related documents on forest ecological benefit compensation, this article firstly discusses the current situation and problems of the forest ecological benefit compensation system in Heilongjiang Province. Secondly, it analyzes the current status of the implementation of the international forest ecological benefit compensation system and draws relevant enlightenment to China. At last, it summarizes and propose countermeasures and suggestions to improve the forest ecological benefit compensation system in Heilongjiang Province.

Abstract:RS/GIS/GPS is a series of efficient techniques for acquiring, managing and analyzing geographic information. This paper describes the using of these techniques in the Entironment investigation of Minjiang Upriver, based on national 863 projects 308 mission Xibujinjinxingdong sub-mission. With the help of forestry, water resource and agrology techniques, a main routine of work flow are introduced. It mainly comprises seven steps: (1) Collect related data, thematic maps, such as Land Use Maps and Forest Maps, were gathered; (2) Select the raw remote sensing images with thinking of the vegetation properties and the scale of target map. A red, green and blue (RGB) colors composite of Landsat TM's band 432 is selected as the information sources; (3) Process and interpret the remote sensing images with ortho-image technique and interactive working method. As a result, 46 digital maps of 1:100,000 scale was produced; (4) perform field work or inspect on the spot with the help of GPS. More than 2000 kilometers routine and 294 patches was validated,;(5) Second time Interpretation; (6) Design and create the geodatabase. Not less than 20 layers was designed to contain necessary geo-information; and (7) Acquire, edit and store spatial data with the help of GIS software. After all these works, some spatial analysis is made. It clearly reveals large changes between 1990 and 2000: Nature forest area has decreased about 60,000 ha; Manually planted forest has increased about 30,000 ha; Grassland and plow land have been decreasing in various level; Arid valley has the tendency to enlarge. According to some forestry study, main reason such as over felling the forest, tillage on steep mountain slopes in upper river and government behavior is discussed to interpret these large changes in the end of this paper.

[Construction of information management-based virtual forest landscape and its application]

Abstract:Based on the analysis of the contents and technical characteristics of different scale forest visualization modeling, this paper brought forward the principles and technical systems of constructing an information management-based virtual forest landscape. With the combination of process modeling and tree geometric structure description, a software method of interactively and parameterized tree modeling was developed, and the corresponding renderings and geometrical elements simplification algorithms were delineated to speed up rendering run-timely. As a pilot study, the geometrical model bases associated with the typical tree categories in Zhangpu County of Fujian Province, southeast China were established as template files. A Virtual Forest Management System prototype was developed with GIS component (ArcObject), OpenGL graphics environment, and Visual C++ language, based on forest inventory and remote sensing data. The prototype could be used for roaming between 2D and 3D, information query and analysis, and virtual and interactive forest growth simulation, and its reality and accuracy could meet the needs of forest resource management. Some typical interfaces of the system and the illustrative scene cross-sections of simulated masson pine growth under conditions of competition and thinning were listed.

Abstract:Forest resources information system in China is vertically divided into four levels,namely,state,province,city and county.Due to the different requirements for the management systems at the different levels,there are some differences among the technical criteria for them.The criteria should be practical,scientific and economical.According to the development of information technology,the paper focuses on the needs and developing trends of forest resources monitoring and information management at the county level,analyzes the technical criteria for its network platform,information integration platform,data collection and output,data storage and maintenance and points out the key technology.It is thought that the collection and output of data should abide by the national and industrial criteria.When developing the system,the expansion of its management and decision making should also be taken into consideration.The supporting software and developing environment should facilitate its maintenance and expansion.The operating cost of the system should also be taken into consideration.

Abstract:Metamaterial refers to artificial composite materials that exhibit extraordinary physical properties that are not found in natural materials. The extraordinary characteristics of metamaterials are derived from the physical response caused by artificially prepared, special non-uniform intercalated structures. Under the rapid development of society and the continuous advancement and development of science and technology, GIS and GPS GIS technology as spatial information analysis technology has begun to develop rapidly and widely. The frequency response characteristics of metamaterials can be adjusted in a wide range according to their structural parameters, so we can design them to work in the frequency range we need through the basic unit structure parameters of metamaterials. Compared with the existing information management methods, the introduction and application of geographic information system technology can provide strong spatial data processing, analysis, query and maintenance capabilities for afforestation project management, and can provide an effective working platform and modern information technology support for obtaining information and decision analysis in the management process of forestry major ecological engineering projects. Based on metamaterials, starting from the advantages of GIS, this paper focuses on analyzing the specific application of GIS in forestry engineering planning and design, and systematically introduces GIS software application technology. To realize the digitalization and networking of forestry projects so as to play a more active role in improving the modern management level of forestry ecological projects in China through the application and demonstration of high and new technologies.

Abstract:With the urbanization process and aggravation of global environmental issues,applying the interaction characteristics between ecological factors and forest and GIS technology to guide urban forest landscape planning and improve urban ecological environment will become an important part of urban eco-planning.By taking the buffer zones of built-up areas and planning areas in Nanyang city,Henan province as studying object,according to current urban forest status to selecting the evaluation factors,and adopting analytical hierar-chy process(AHP) to determine the factor's weight,the comprehensive suitability of Nanyang's urban forest was evaluated with multiple factors with GIS spatial analysis techniques.The results reveal that some problems existed such as severe fragmentation,imbalance in regional development,and lack of green space and lack of ecological protection forest.The planning suggestions were put forward as follows:constructing urban forest with the eco-axis of White River Resort,taking the eight tributaries system of river as key framework of developing urban forests,improving the urban road green network with the framework of sixteen trunk roads' greening,building the green corridor along the urban river system and Dushan scenic area,and creating high quality urban forest landscape through constructing thematic parks of cultural heritage sites etc.

Abstract:The land cover maps of Hangzhou in 2000, 2005 and 2010 are generated based on object-oriented method using multi-temporal TM/ETM+ images for the analysis of the forest distrabution and change detection.. The paper focuses on the method of the extraction of forest information, especialy the analysis of the characteristic variables that can be used for classification. LBV transformation,the K-T transformation and vegetation index are studies for various types of the forests, and the appropriate rules and parameters are derived accordingly to extract the forest information. The paper also illustrates the spatial distribution of the dynamic change of forest resource by analysing the land cover of three years.At last, the type and the proportion of the forests dynamic change are statistical calculated, and the driving forces for the change are analyzed to provide the decision-making basis for the relevant department.
